    We have never known kindness… Not as the common folk have…

    The place was barren; sand dunes seemed to go on forever. Stretching onto into the horizon; dead trees lay half buried by rock and sand as the golden grass, baked by the sheer heat from the sun stay perfectly still. A dried river bed, cracked and empty, makes this place as unforgiving as a location could get. A village is near; large wooden walls keep the sand from invading and forcing the residents to move. To the north of the main gates is a rocky peak, from above it would appear as an arrow pointing towards the town.

    At a young age, we were branded as demon callers.

    Many years ago, this village took part in a witch hunt of sorts. Thousands of children who bared the elaborate and strange Incartas on their skin were burned at the stake, thrown out of the towns, drowned, raped or beaten to death for something they could not control. The common folk had been freed from the tyranny of Emperor Dandis Mage. In revolt and celebration, everyone who had the power he did, were killed.

    Most, if not all, were children, unaware they were unwelcome.

    The smell of burning flesh… It swept around the globe, and hung in the air for days…

    Children, lost and confused, who had somehow managed to escape the angered mobs, stumbled upon the barren and hot Lumiun Plains… As unforgiving as it may have seen, it welcomed the company of the battered children. It is said that when night fell upon the sobbing group, the twin moons shone as bright as the sun, casting a silver gaze over the dunes. The Lumiun Plains opened up, revealing a sanctuary for the innocent who had been tainted by hatred.

    For a long time, those born with the Incarta were cast out, thrown into the plains to presumably die…

    They threw us out here, in an empty and loathing place… Along time ago…

    Present day, the village is closed off. The winds have picked up, and a massive sandstorm is sweeping towards them. It looms on the border, like a great wall, blocking out the sun to cast a deepening shadow on the common folk. If it not for the darkness, they would’ve seen several figures standing on the arrow point. Gazing down on the unsuspecting people below.


    Now… It’s our turn.

    A TRAGIC TALE
    The Dandis Dynasty

    mmm… K… I’ve wanted to try another RPG for a while and this is one of the ideas I concocted. Three people have told me they liked it, so I decided to give it a shot. There are just a few facts (maybe two…) that you need to know before scrolling down to see my crazy lingo and definitions of this little world of mine.
    And I am VERY SORRY that there is so much to read, I can’t really shorten it though….


    FACT ONE: This is a TEAM RPG. Meaning, there are sides. On one side there are the Awakeners, and on the other are the ‘normal’ people. However, People can switch sides, but if you pick to be a leader or key figure of either side, you CANNOT switch (Though, I may be swayed, PM for details). You must remain loyal to your cause.

    FACT TWO: This is a MATURE RPG. Why you may ask? Well, it contains violence, foreseeable bad language, sexual content, and various other ‘goodies’ that means, the faint of heart. STAY AWAY.


    MUFUFUFUFUFU. Alrighty; time for the little tidbits of facts… Tehehehe…

    Upperworld: The continent’s idea of ‘Heaven’. Directly contrasts with the Underworld.

    Underworld: The continent’s idea of ‘Hell’. Directly contrasts with the Upperworld.

    Immortalis: Creatures of mystical powers said to be dead and gone. Most are associated with Upperworld, though there are a couple linked to the Underworld.

    Sigil: The ability to beckon the Immortalis. Ancient cultures refer to it as ‘Ykpsu hgj vtq Rpsqnu’ which translates into ‘Wings for the Angels’.

    Sigil Bearers: People who can blend with the Immortalis. These people are feared by the common folk, as many tyrants have had the power to call upon the mystic beings. Those for with the Incarta are banished from most societies, forced to live on the Limiun Plains.

    Infericus: Derived from the word ‘Interfere’ it refers to people who had an Incarta forcefully inscribed onto/into their skin. Whether or not their can beckon an Immortalis is irrelevant. They are banished from most societies like their natural brethren.

    Incarta: A symbol appearing as an intricate tattoo on the Sigil Bearer’s body. Usually associated with an Immortalis, those with the Sigil are able to obtain more supernatural creatures if another symbol is branded onto their skin. Whether this is through Mei-cha, or a more primitive method, is usually up to the receiver.

    Awakener: A polite term used to describe a Sigil Bearer or Infericus.

    Demon Caller: A crude term for a Sigil Bearer, or Infericus.

    Mei-cha: A deep state of meditation where the Sigil Bearer or Infericus can contact their Immortalis. If worthy and strong enough, either brand of awakener can obtain an additional creature.

    Lumiun Plains: Though the plains more fit the description of a Dune Sea, it was named well before the Dandis Dynasty. The King has ordered that the Plains be off limits to everyone. Anyone attempting to enter or exit the plains shall be put to death. Lumiun is suspected to be derived from Luminosity, a direct description of the twin silver moons that only appear over the plains.

    Ancients: A non-specific term for the people that existed long before the current civilization even began being thought of. It is said that these people lived in harmony with the Awakeners and called them ‘Ykpsu hgj vtq Rpsqnu’ (Wings for the Angels) or ‘Yrjjkgju gh vtq Sgfu’ (Warriors of the Gods).

    Matria: Derived from ‘Matriarch’, as Sigil Bearers society is ruled purely by female dominance.


    RACES


    Reial: A race that closely resembles the Ancients Elf people. Reial have long pointed ears and stars for pupils instead of the regular round ones.

    Deatu: A race that is closely related to the Ancients themselves. They tend to be stronger than humans, and have superior night vision. Deatu can only be identified through their black blood, while most other races have red.

    Albino: An odd race of Humans, Deatus, Reials and any other humanoid lacking in colour. The Albino are known throughout the lands, yet they are rarely seen. Besides from their body colouration, nothing of them differs from the ‘normal’ species.


    RANKING/CAST LIST [You can be more than one character]


    AWAKENERS: Those who are blessed by the Immortalis. They now seek revenge and war to avenge their fallen brethren and to return the Matria to her rightful place as ruler of the continent. Any male seeking to overthrow the Matria will be quickly struck down as they fear another Emperor. Please note that not everyone in this army needs an Immortalis (like most Infericus do not have Immortalises), they just needed to be cast out from the other societies.

    CONTINENTAL COMMAND: The army of the current King and his commanders. They do not know the attack is coming, and they seek to keep the Awakeners in their desert. But until recent events of the gigantic sandstorm that has shrouded the plains in darkness, they thought they were all dead.

    NAME: Weiss Dandis
    AGE: 20
    GENDER: Male
    SPECIES: Albino Human
    APPEARANCE: A young and handsome man, standing at 5’7’’ with a lean, yet well toned build. As one would expect from an Albino, his skin, as well as his hair, is pure white. His hair is short, with a big fringe partially covered the right side of his face. His eyes are also white.

    Much like his skin, the majority of Weiss’ clothes are white. He wears a white overcoat with gold trim and cuffs, a white undershirt, white pants and white boots with gold trim. He wears a ring with a blue jewel on his right hand, his engagement ring and a necklace given to him by his late mother.
    PERSONALITY: While he’s only been on the throne for one and a half years, he’s not naive to his duties as emperor. He cares deeply for his people and he keeps their best interests in mind when making decisions. He feels a terrible guilt for what his ancestor, the Emperor Dandis Mage, did to the commonfolk, and for what his son after him did to the Awakeners. Even though he wishes for peace, he is willing to do anything for his people, even sacrificing his own life.
    ALLIANCE: Continental Command, though as king he has deep loyalty to his people.

    WEAPON: A large, circular blade, which Weiss refers to as “The Halo” It can almost be described as a killer hula hoop (think Tira’s weapon from Soul Calibur III)
    HISTORY: A distant relative of the infamous Emperor Dandis Mage and the son that overthrew him. The Dandis name had been forever tainted by these two people. It’s unknown how Weiss came about to be Albino, even though his parents were perfectly normal. Some believe it’s a sign that he may be the one to cleanse the Dandis name. His compassion for his subjects seems to give this theory some credibility. On his 19th birthday, His father stepped down, passing the role of monarch onto his son. Due to his white skin, hair, eyes and clothing, Weiss has become known as the “White Emperor”

    NAME: Albel Lionet
    AGE: 25
    GENDER: Male
    SPECIES: Deatu
    APPEARANCE: Tall and lean, Albel is the ideal specimen of any humanoid. His has a nice build, perfect complexion, tan skin, crisp, golden eyes and in many ways is ideal. His hair is slightly wild, ‘spiky’, and shaggy, coming down to just below his ears, though his hair would be much longer wild if most of the severely longer strands weren’t bound inside duel tightly wrapped white cloth that comes down two his ankles. He wears a black tank-top that unfortunately has become so torn and cut that it only covers half of his chest and back. The rest is exposed. He wears black shorts that cut off just below his knees and has a thick red clothe wrapped around his waist where his pant line would be. It’s tied off to the side and hides the leather strap that holds up shingled armour that hangs over his legs. The extra bit of red cloth holds the old, worn sheath of Albel’s sword: The Litra. He has a tough, leather glove that comes up to his elbow on his right arm, it has red string criss-crossing on the top, apparently keeping tight, though sometimes it seems uncomfortably tight. In the fingers of this glove are thick pieces of precious mythril, sharpened into claws (and stained red from numerous kills) to make it ideal for slicing. His shoes are also armoured, perfect for kicking people.
    Albel’s original Incarta is around his eye and looks similar to the eye of Ra, but the tattoo like marking (that’s obsidian coloured and tends to shine in the light) has spread from his left eye down his neck and has intricately covered his shoulder and shoulder blade (all on the left side). It appears to resemble a wing. Another Incarta has begun to appear on his abdomen, appearing to be a very complicated design representing a black hole.
    PERSONALITY: Many would describe Albel as cold, cruel and all around as rotten as you could possibly get. He has a very short temper for those he deems unworthy and is pretty sure no one save for a select few can even call him a friend. He’s not afraid to make anyone look bad, and loves to see someone ‘lower’ than him suffer. Albel Lionet hardly even seems to respect the Matria at times, and many times disregards orders to perform the battle the way he likes. He constantly seems to be thinking deeply, and most often will engage in Mei-cha to escape his horrible reality. He is one of the most racist Awakeners and holds a firm and strong grudge against the ‘normal’ people. Albel demeanour seems to ward off most people, and that’s the way he likes it. Though he commands respect from anyone and everyone, he also tends to rule his select warriors through fear as well. Many see him as having a confident or even cocky attitude towards everything he does; however, this is to cover up the self-loathing that has eaten at him for years. There is a rumour however, that the Domin will be ‘nice’ (or at least somewhat respectful) to someone who has earned it.

    INFERICUS OR NATURAL: Natural
    IMMORTALIS: Cerus: The Incarta swarms all over his body, covering him in complete obsidian darkness. His eyes become completely black though they appear to have some sort of ethereal flame burning behind them. His gloved hand morphs and shifts to become a blood red arm that has grossly large claws, while his other remains remotely humanoid. Two horns pierce out from his forehead and all of his teeth become stained with red, his tongue splits and an extra set of canine teeth come in from the surrounding gum line. His clothes have shifted into crimson coloured armour that could’ve only been forged in the underworld as they seem to reek with malice. Four giant raven wings protrude from his back and allow him to fly for short distances. He often comes down from above, frightening villagers. The Litra grows and becomes a gigantic black blade that’s broken and extremely sharp; it has the capability of cutting through almost anything in this form. Some of the most obvious powers are flight, extraordinary strength, regeneration and crushing the wills of his opponents.
    WEAPON: He only wields The Litra, a plain, double-edge sword that he found when he was a child, wandering the desert.
    HISTORY: Albel came from the village that the Matria has targeted. He holds a deep loathing for anyone in that place, as they cast him out and murdered his father for trying to save him. When they tossed him out, Albel was forced to wander the Lumiun Plains for three weeks before anyone found him. He was there when the desert split open and took in the abandoned children, and for that, he will defend the Lumiun Plains with all his might.

    Am I right in assuming you based 'Albel Lionet' off Albel of Star Ocean 3? Good game, just a terrible plot twist..

    NAME: Zephys Xiomara
    AGE: 28
    GENDER: Female
    SPECIES:
    Reial
    APPEARANCE: Zephys stands tall, at a height of 6’, and she carries herself with the haughty demeanour of a queen. Her hair is a harsh raven black, but threads of silver streak through as a direct effect of the mana her spells use. She keeps her hair shoulder-length to stop it hindering her in battle, and it falls into natural, soft curls with no intervention at all. The top is often seen flattened down as a result of Zephys’ elaborate and almost-constant war-helmet-wearing.
    Said helmet is red-tinged metal and it gives off an air of a helmet that has seen many wars, in that it’s somewhat dented and well-worn. It covers Zephys’ forehead and swoops down to a vicious point which protects her nose, almost like the beak of a bird of prey. It has curved spaces for her eyes, and the metal fits snugly to her cheeks before tapering off at the neck into a chainmail necklace which trails downwards, rather like a poncho, to the top of her breasts and the equivalent on her back. This chainmail is the same red colour as the helmet, and it covers her shoulders but leaves her enough room for arm-movement.
    Zephys’ helmet sweeps back on top as the crest of feathers does on a bird, and in fact, there is a set of holes that trails down the back of her head to fit large feathers in. These feathers are long and curling, and jet black iridescent in colour, similar to that of a blackbird. They are said to have been plucked from the tail of the mythical Roc, but no-one knows the truth of this rumour.
    Underneath her armour, Zephys wears a simple, long tunic made of heavy linen in a pale grey edged with black, and on her legs she wears loose red pants, in a lighter linen for ease of movement. Her tunic is short-sleeved and her pants come down to her boots, which are heavy duty brown leather, and close-fitting enough to allow for nimbleness in battle.
    Back to her armour; Zephys wears an impressively hammered-out breastplate, made of two single pieces, one for the front and one for the back. This is the same colour as her helmet, and polished to as bright a finish as battle-dented armour can hold. The two pieces are held together with two tough straps of leather on each side, snugging them close to her body. Upon each forearm she wears a vambrace of riveted black leather, and the same for the greaves on her legs. Attached to the bottom of her breastplate is a chainmail skirt type thingy which reaches to her knees, although the chainmail isn’t made of one single piece, which would hinder movement, instead being made of sort of strips of mail.
    Zephys has piercing green eyes and a slender figure, but don’t let that fool you into thinking she’s an easy target, cos she surely is not. Her Incarta spreads across her right hand and all the way up her arm until it reaches her shoulder, where it twists down to fill the hollow of her neck and finally curls to a halt in-between her breasts. It takes the shape of curving, vicious thorns, almost Celtic in the way they curl around each other. Since Zephys is a Natural, her Incarta does not have the colouring of burned flesh that others have, but instead is a harsh red which contrasts nicely with her pale skin.
    PERSONALITY:
    Zephys is stubborn and proud to a fault. If insulted, she cannot ignore it, and if injured she can do nothing but retaliate. She will never let an insult lie, and she will always, always seek vengeance with a single-mindedness that can be terrifying. She is an intense woman, practising with her lance, Rhon, for up to five hours every day, and then practising with her magic for a further three hours. She has all the appetites of a healthy woman and has been known to be compared to a valkyrie, in that she is a warrior to the core and would no doubt fight even after her death. Anything she wants, she will take, be it food, wine, men or plunder, but don’t be fooled into thinking she is stupid. Beneath her warrior’s exterior ticks a dangerously sharp mind, filled with battle tactics, icy cold logic and a love for her people that mingles closely with her thirst to take revenge for them.

    WEAPON: Zephys carries a single weapon that she has named Rhon, or “lance”. Rhon looks like this, and it stands at just over 6’ tall. The butt end is cruelly pointed and barbed, and the lance end takes the form of a double-pronged spear, with one prong about two inch longer than the other. The metal on Rhon is tinged charcoal grey and does not gleam, even when light is shone directly upon it. Because of this, observers often think that the blades are rusted, or useless, but Zephys and her warriors know different.
    HISTORY: Born an Awakener, Zephys Xiomara was thrown from her village at the tender age of eight, when her parents who had tried to hide her for so long were finally taken over by their revulsion at the steadily growing Incarta that had begun to spread from Zephys’ hand to other parts of her body. Her home village was small and insignificant, and so was mostly out of the gaze of the Continental Command, leading to their rules regarding the Awakeners to be more lenient. However, when they came across their daughter performing a small magick, their fear overcame their love for her and they cast her into the Plains where she wandered for two years, surviving as best she could before she was finally found by a foraging party of Awakeners who wore their Incarta proudly, and not as if it were a curse to be hidden at all costs. Upon seeing the party, the previously-hidden Zephys strode up to their leader and revealed her own Incarta before demanding to be taken with them. Even at ten she knew her own mind, and from then on she climbed her way up through the ranks simply by being the best.

    Name: Raw Blade

    Zephys chants in a lost tongue as she holds Rhon horizontally in front of her. After five seconds of chanting, the lance-pole begins to glow blood red, and the weapon levitates at about chest height. Zephys then runs her hands over each blade lovingly, and finally brings her hands together sharply in a clap at the centre of the stave. This clap is unnaturally loud, and symbolises the end of the spell.
    The effects of Raw Blade are as follows: The blades of Rhon are no longer dull; rather now they shine red from within, as if they are infused with blood. Runes glow down the length of the stave, red once more, and the weapon becomes too hot to touch for any hands but Zephys’.
    When she draws blood with Rhon after casting this spell, there is no blood to be seen, neither on the floor nor on the blades. It is as if the blades absorb the energy and life of those they strike, and indeed, as the battle continues, they glow brighter with each wound they inflict.

    Name: Hellfire Strike
    Class: Black
    Power: P
    Desc.: Zephys thrusts Rhon butt-end first into the ground and raises her hands to the sky. As she chants, her eyes turn pure black and an unearthly wind rises and tears at her clothes and hair and any who are within a 3 metre radius of the spell. After 30 seconds of chanting, her head will snap towards her intended target and she fires out her hands, palms outwards, in the direction she wishes the Strike to go. Placing one palm in front of the other, Zephys clenches her fists tightly and clasps them to her chest in one swift movement. With this last motion, a column of pitch black energy will stab downwards from the sky and directly into her target. The column is 3 metres in diameter and anything that is caught underneath it will suffer heavy damage which differs depending upon which circle you are caught within. The inner metre will suffer instant death, the next metre outwards will be burned horribly and knocked unconscious, and the outer circle will simply be expelled from the area with massive bruising.

    Name: Swift Cure
    Class: White
    Power: P
    Desc.: Zephys clasps her hands together and brings them sharply to her chest, where she thumps twice and gives an almost deafening shout. Anyone within a two metre radius receives an almost instantaneous cure of up to two wounds, and Zephys herself heals an unlimited amount of any wounds she chooses.

    Name: Blood Circle
    Class: Arcane
    Power: M for Medium
    Desc.: This spell can only be used after Rhon has absorbed blood from two enemies. Zephys stabs down into the ground with the butt-end of Rhon, and draws a circle about herself. A barrier is raised; tinged red in colour, and no non-magical weapons or ranged weapons can penetrate it.

    Name: Energy Displacement
    Class: White/Arcane
    Power: M
    Desc.: When the double prongs of Rhon are embedded in an enemy, Zephys runs her palms down to the barbs at the butt-end, and slices open her own skin. Energy from the enemy floods down the stave and into the barbs, and thus into Zephys as well, giving her an energy boost and helping her wounds heal quicker.

    Name: Blood Rain
    Class: Black
    Power: M
    Desc.: Zephys drops to her knees and thrusts the double-pronged blades of Rhon into the ground. She clasps the stave tightly and whispers unknown magical words. After ten seconds, red runes spread slowly up Rhon’s wood. When they finally reach the top, the barbs glow a dull reddish black and a brilliant ball of fire shoots upwards into the sky, where it bursts and rains burning flames onto the enemy. The range of this spell isn’t very great; Zephys can only effect enemies who are a maximum of 5 metres away, so there is always a possibility that the flames will touch her own troops.

She was told to find her brother, and that he would take care of her. She had only heard stories about him, and had grown to admire him from a young age. Although she was always angered that nothing was good enough, nothing measured up to her brother.

    Dazed and dehydrated she found her way into the Awakener’s sanctuary. There she continued to hear whispers about her brother, through out the next six years she always felt her goal was just out of reach. This began to frustrate her, and she soon began to hate her brother, and wanted to finally prove herself.

    When she was finally old enough, she signed up to be a soldier, against the wishes of those she was living with. She knew this would be the only way to finally step out of her brother’s shadow, and prove herself.

    APPEARANCE: Lyzza’s romany background is purely displayed through her appearance. Being moderately short, at only 5’10”, Lyzza has a baked, medium sienna tone to her skin. Her hair is extremely dark in color, appearing almost black except in the right angles and shades of light, and, even then, still looking to be very intense brown. It is also rather long, falling to her mid back, as well as curly and frizzy, which can look like a rat’s nest if left unkempt for too long. Often, she can be seen wearing various bandanas on her head (usually shades of red, brown, or green), as not only is it a style she prefers, but it also helps control her hair.
    As a half-Reial, Lyzza does show signs of her Reial blood. Her pupils are 4-pointed stars in the shape of an X (unlike the pure-blooded 5-star pupils), and as green as the emerald pendants that dangle from the gold necklace she wears (along with a plethora of other necklaces and charms frequently seen on her neck). The Reial blood has also morphed her ears, the top curl of her ear being more open and slightly pointed. From her ears are a number of earrings in various places. She has 2 large, golden hoops from the center of each earlobe, and various other jeweled rings; 3 from her left (2 above the large one and one in the top) and 4 in her right (2 above the large and a ruby stud next to an ear cuff).
    Naturally, Lyzza has a toned body, mostly from her clan’s arduous travel from village to village, all their belongings in tow. This is somewhat displayed through her choice of clothing, which is composed of colorful fabrics and materials sewn together. The top is designed like a low-cut, ecru peasant blouse that is tied off just under her chest. The color fades to more of a beige color on the sleeves (and other borders), which sit low on her shoulders and loosely fall just below her elbow. All of the borders are in a leather-brown fabric that blends well with the other browns.
    On each wrist, she wears 2, very simple golden bangles; on her left hand, she wears an emerald ring on her index finger and a simple gold band on her pinky; on her right hand, she wears a ruby and diamond decorated ring on her middle finger. With most of Lyzza’s torso exposed, she has a navel piercing that dangles gracefully from a jeweled ring in fine, golden threads.
    As for her pants, Lyzza wears 3 simple layers. The first is a mid-calf length skirt that is crimson red near the waist and fades to a cherry or rose color near the bottom, and is bordered by the same brown material as on the top. The skirt is flowing and open, allowing plenty of movement and grace with every step. And with each of those steps, her second layer comes into play: a semi-opaque, black material with small metal coins and bells sewn onto the edge that make subtle jingles as she moves. It is folded in half and tied on her left hip. Over top of that is an ecru sash that is also tied off on her left. This sash is used to hold up a small satchel on her right that she carries a number of items in, including a full stash of mint leaves, which she has a habit of chewing on a regular basis. Also kept inside are a tarot deck and a set of zils, which she uses when meditating or performing, as well as a tambourine, which is tied to the sash, just behind the satchel.
    Finally, Lyzza wears a golden charm anklet on her left ankle and a pair of beige slipper-like shoes with a very thin sole; a simple, more cloth-like moccasin.

    WEAPON: Lyzza’s ‘weapon’ is known to her as Asteres, as she claims the name was told to her by the spirits that inhabit the ball. Uniquely, Asteres has properties much like liquid mercury or a bubble, in that it can be divided into smaller, more manageable parts and recombined into a single, large orb through mei-cha. During these states of meditation, Lyzza can connect fine strings of energy to each orb, which she controls like a marionette. She carries Asteres in a burgundy sash that she slings over her shoulders.
    Lyzza also owns a dagger which she keeps hidden in her blouse. She usually uses it for daily chores, but can be used as an effective weapon in dire situations.
    HISTORY: Born into the life of the romany, Lyzza has lived the way of the gypsies and has seen almost every village and corner of the world because of it. Her mother was a Reial and her father, a human, but she’s still loved all the same by her entire clan. Her father’s life, unfortunately, was taken before she was old enough to remember him, only being 2 at the time, and has never known the cause for her father’s death through her entire lifetime.
    Ever since her childhood, she had a talent for ‘speaking with the Ancients’ and was taught how to gaze into crystal balls by her grandmother. Her mother also trained her in reading tarot cards and the stars, giving her a firm base in astrology. Also obtained from both her grandmother and mother was a strange taste for mint leaves, almost like an addiction to tobacco.
    For many years, her mystifying beauty has proved as a valuable asset to her clan’s performances and appearances across the world, but it was only recently that they have returned to the region reigned by King Dandis in nearly 10 years...

    Description: In its fully divided form, Asteres spreads out, each sphere shining a light. If a spell or attack comes in contact with any of the light, it is reflected directly back at the opponent, like a translucent mirror. This shell can be moved at will, but leaves many openings for other attacks.

    APPEARANCE: Latros, although of half-blood, is mostly Deatu in looks. He stands at 6'0" and has brown hair that is to his shoudlers and slightly messy. Lat, as he is commonly referred to, has light blue eyes and the typical Reial pointy ears, with fair skin. As for what he wears in battle, he likes to wear a light chain mail under a black tunic, with an pair of thick leather shoulderpads. The shoulderpads are made of a black leather and are connected by a very light chain mail that he just puts through his head and adjusts on the shoulders. Around his neck is a light blue scarf that's a bit too long for anyone; being wrapped around his neck and still going down to his hip. His pants are of a cloth material thats double layered, one layer white and going down to his feet, the layer ontop deep blue and going to his ankles. On his hands are rings; one on each pointer. The one on his left has a red jewel and the one on his right has a ice blue jewel; both are pure silver rings.

    Latros is blind in his right eye due to illness and wears a black eye patch.
    PERSONALITY: Silent unless something is wrong, Latros is opinionated and quite smart; but keeps to himself now because he'd rather stay out of the conflict that be in it - although his participation in it is written in the stars. With women, Latros can be quite the romantic, but keeps it strictly off the battlefield - most of the time. He's quite determined in whatever he's doing; which can result in a one-track mind sometimes.
    ALLIANCE: Common Folk, although was asked to be apart of the Contiental Command.
    MAGICK RANK: Expert
    MAGICK SPELLS: It is noted that even though he preforms these spells with only his hammer, he can perform Flamma and Frigus on any weapon; since they need only his blood. He originally learned these spells on a polearm and retaught himself to use them on his warhammer.

    Desc.: The tips of his right pointer and middle finger glow as he holds them to his left eye, allowing him to see from 360 degrees and by a much longer distance. His eye appears to be completely white while under this spell. Currently can only last 30 seconds under Prolix-state.

    Desc.: His red gemmed ring glows as he pricks his left middle finger, and wipes the blood over his hammer. The hammer; aside from the hilt, erupts in flames. The flames can easily be easily relit if put out.

    Desc.: His ice gemmed ring glows as he pricks his left middle finger, and wipes the blood over his hammer. The hammer is covered in a chunk of frozen ice thats sharp on both ends. The ice is harder than most; but will need another application of blood if melted.

    Desc.: Wiping blood from his left middle finger onto the hilt, his warhammer will grow 3 times its size. This is labeled "P" for powerful because it fools everyone elses senses into believing the hammer is much larger than it really is. It, in reality, remains the same size. Because of that, Latros can use Flamma and Frigus on it.



    WEAPON: A round warhammer that rests on his back and carried around with a chain sling. He tends to call it a she since it "likes to disobey". x3The metal is a pitch black. Named "Stelliger"; a name he didn't give it. Calls it "Stelli".
    HISTORY:
    He doesn't remember much of his past before being deathly ill when he was a 10 year old, but he knows that he had a twin brother that had "Some sort of divine symbol" on him. Although his parents are loyal to the CC, he is not, as he remembers his brother clearly and has wanted answers as to where he is; believing they had some involvement. His brother was born with an Incarta and he was gifted with a natural talent for magick; although he had to pay for it with the 3 years he spent in bed with an illness that caused his right eye to go blind.

    Ever since he got better, Latros has been practicing Magick and fighting each and every day. It was when he was 15, 2 years after his illness and 2 years of intense magick trainning, that he got his war hammer from an old man who admired his talent. It was also from this mysterious old man that he got his 2 rings.

    When he was asked to join the CC at 19, he denied them. He's currently being watched like the hawk by them and he's thinking of willingly going out to the plains.

    NAME: Kaitou Arione
    AGE: 24
    GENDER: Male
    SPECIES: Human
    APPEARANCE: Kaitou is, in short, a very unkempt man, standing at the rough height of 6'2. With a lean, muscled figure, his rough looks are often contorted into defiant sneers. With wild black hair running down to just below the neck, his bangs often obscure his eyes, adding even more to his unkempt disposition. His eyes itself are a dull black, yet filled with life all the while. Light blue markings in the form of thick rings adorn his wrists and forearms, along with his ankles and the section of skin slightly below his knee.
    Adding to his contrasting appearance is a dull gray 'jacket' of sorts, most likely a shawl or robe ripped away to Kaitou's content. The sleeves hang very loosely, with the jacket itself hanging open. The frayed edges contribute to the evidence that it was once a large garment Kaitou simply customized to his needs.
    The dirty white shirt beneath it is of the 'peasant' style, with the small stiches going down the top of the shirt. Like all his clothing, it is extremely baggy.
    What might be considered the most flamboyant of his clothing are his gray shorts, matching his 'jacket' in color. Obviously another piece of customized clothing, the pair of shorts resemble the contemporary bermuda shorts of today, all though plain and lacking in decoration, drooping just slightly below his knee. Running diagonally across his front is the strap of his sword sheath, a light beige in color, with dark green symbols and decorations running along the cloth. The sword itself hangs loose, and the crossguard consists of thin, brown metal forming into two 'prongs.' The hilt is thin, a pearly, smooth white, with a light blue 'wisp' of air decorating the tip of it, along with a small, circular dot just above it. The pommel is shaped in an oriental style, resembling a sort of heart, with the curves more rounded and not connecting. A similar symbol (referencing the air wisp on the hilt) adorns the otherwise dark red sheath, all though it is notably thinner and covers the center of the scabbard. At the tip of the scabbard is a 'hidden' compartment, where a very thin, short, but also extremely sharp dagger is tucked inside. The sword itself is curved, composed of a dull, silvery metal that has long lost its luster showing the age of the blade. Two golden brass rings adorn the side of the scabbard, where the strap runs through and keeps the weapon tied loosely to Kaitou's back.
    PERSONALITY: Befitting his appearance, Kaitou is lazy, crude, and vulgar. He is disrespecting of his superiors and has no qualms about speaking his opinion, no matter how cruel it can be. Cursing comes second hand to him, and accompanying his rude disposition is a disregard of other peoples' perception of him. He has a love of money, and would be willing to take most jobs should the payoff be high enough. Always ready to have some fun, Kaitou is laid back and hardly takes his occupation seriously, preferring to do only the things he enjoys. His fighting style expresses this, ready to kill at any time and resorting to every opportunity he has to overcome his assailant. His bloodlust seems insatiable, and if he didn't want to maintain his position (though it is notably already on the verge of being revoked) he would slaughter anyone that annoyed him. His arrogance seems legendary, and while he is only Captain, he claims he could defeat every warrior in the kingdom with his eyes closed. Despite his hard shell, he is certainly capable of compassion, and all though it is rare he understands the ability of the young king, and is aware that the youthful ruler is trying his best. Therefore in his presence (all though it is rare) he refrains from his usual sass. He is able to recognize a situation in which harshness is usually unwarranted, but often increases his bluntness at these times to 'toughen' the victim of his venomous words. His compassion has also been seen on scarce occasions; he almost always stops to give the homeless several coins, along with any spare things he might have on him at the time. Kaitou is essentially a complicated man, and because of his rougher half of him (or maybe three-fourths) he seems to lack close companions.

    Name: Crimson Lightning

    Desc.: Summoning crackling bolts of red that coaslece in his right hand, Kaitou runs his palm along the flat of the blade, cloaking it an aura of furious lightning before he swings in a wide horizontal arc. The bolts then race forward in the shape of a semi circle. While deadly, the longer the projectile travels, the less power it possesses. Once it strikes an object it dissipates.

    Name: Wind Walk
    Class: Arcane/White
    Power: Weak/Medium?
    Desc: Forming a sphere of hissing wind in his palm, Kaitou cries a rough incantation before slamming his palm into the earth, releasing it upon impact, enveloping his body in a powerful breeze that remains swirling around him for the duration of several minutes. During this period his speed and agility is enhanced.

    WEAPON: Katana/Sai hybrid (Rippling Wave); Tanto (small dagger; concealed in scabbard)
    HISTORY: Born on a chain of islands off the coast (if this is all right?), Kaitou hardly knew who his parents were. The first faces he remember are fellow villagers his age when he was young, and all though he does not remember growing up until his teenage years, he has told anyone who asked that every day was a struggle to survive. Because of the harsh obstacles he had been forced to overcome, witnessing the deaths of the two fellow villagers that were the first he had ever remembered at the age of fifteen at the hands of bandits. Following their deaths he realized he could not live without fending for himself, and left his village with the sword he still wields today, making enemies as he traversed the chain of islands, resorting to even thievery to make enough money to survive. His time on the islands were also the cause of his blue markings, as he was once captured by a group of bandits who had seen his bounty poster which was now circulating most villages. They shackled him, resulting in his markings, and transported him in a covered wagon for several days, before another party of brigands attacked his captors, slewing them and unintentionally freeing Kaitou, who recovered Rippling Wave and cut down his saviors with no regrets. Upon his freedom, he escaped the islands to the mainland, altering his appearance (growing his hair long, for one, as well as changing his name) to avoid possible bounty hunters; this may have been unnecessary, however, as it seemed he had only been seen as a threat back home. Joining the army, his combat abilities were grudgingly recognized, and despite his crude attitude he was promoted time and time again to where he is now. Those who question his past are rudely insulted, and to this day Kaitou maintains his altered appearance, aware of the many enemies he had made in his youth that may return to haunt him.

    NAME: Aurelia Lionet, although she can be called "Lia" in short
    AGE: 12

    SPECIES: Deatu
    APPEARANCE: She is rather on the small side, rather thin and only 4'8" in height, but given that she hasn't hit puberty, it'd make perfect sense. Her dark hair falls down to mid-back level and often held away from her face in one somewhat loose braid, appearing rather untidy and dry, with her eyes the main proof of her heritage - the same whirring golden eyes as her sister and brother both. Her skin is also fairly tanned by exposure to sunlight.
    Given that it is not common to see somebody her size on the battlefield, her attire is primarily to allow mobility and concealment for another task. Although she does have a navy cloth wrapped around her chest underneath, as well as similarly-colored leggings much like any typical member of the Gerudo tribe of Legend of Zelda fame, Lia conceals this with a tattered dark grey dress and oatmeal-colored apron designed to be removed easily. She also tends to wear a bandanna, a pale grey color, and dark-colored moccasins designed particularly for mobility. She also keeps a small leather cord around her neck which holds two simple rings - the wedding bands of her parents.
    Her Incarta has recently started to appear, and appears on her back, although primarily concealed by her chest covering. It varies in levels of blue, from near white to almost navy, and when shown vaguely shapes out a koi fish.
    PERSONALITY: Many happenings shaped Aurelia's beliefs, although her slight innocence and open ears may not be much of a help. Even though she is rather quiet and timid, she's as sweet and honest as any girl could be, although there seems a slightly sad air about her - as if something really troubles her. She seems to be one amongst the select few that choose to not stay out of her brother's, often trying to do what she can to bring a small amount of light into his life as well as most others. However, as caring as she may be, she will go as far as to harm somebody if that is what her tasks call for.

    Piscelium - The Incarta slowly begins to infest much of her skin, causing it to appear a shiny silvery blue only in excessive light. Her hair fades into a similar color towards the bottom of her hair, which will break out of its braid as soon as her Immortalis starts to take over, and her eyes become wide and oily black in color. Since she is relatively new to this, her abilities are fairly limited - an increased speed, more fluid-like motion, and a small influence on water temperature. It is unknown as to what could begin to appear following this.
    WEAPON: For now, only a dagger and a small blade attached to a chain that could double as a grappling hook if needed be.
    HISTORY: Aurelia has no true memory of what it is like to have a true family; her father was slain in public when she was only an infant, she never knew of her "brother" beyond stories, and after assuring that her sister would be safe, her mother was tried and executed by stoning when she was seven - a punishment left typically only for harlots and other sexual deviants. Because of this, she has never been able to trust too many people at once. Given the wedding bands of her parents as proof of who she was, she was then left in care of the village, who were always watching her to see if she would do something to create harm onto others.
    Shortly after her ninth birthday, Aurelia started to complain of feeling under the weather. Even though her fever broke, it was only because her Immortalis had finally become accustomed to her body. Her caretakers at the time were kind enough to give her a small amount of supplies and flee into the Lumiun Plains to a sanctuary, and that both of her siblings would be there.
    Doing so, Aurelia managed to make her way through the desert-like conditions in a few weeks of wandering with no major injuries. She finally managed to "meet" her much older brother who decided to train her. Because of her current size, she primarily works as an assassin, yet will do anything asked of her at the time.

    Vena stands just 5’5 but has a build that makes her seem taller. Her body is designed to be agile and athletic but hides surprising strength (for a woman of her size). Her hair is the colour of ebony and stretches down her back in one long braid that ends an inch above her waistline. Her eyes are a deep (murky) shade of brown. The armour she wears is a padded black body suit designed to protect the chest, back and stomach. It is skin-tight, giving the impression that she is wearing no armour at all, and concealed beneath a baggy, deep green shirt. She also wears baggy, dark brown pants and no shoes (she’s very in touch with the naturist side of her species despite being separated from the forests she grew up in and distanced from anything resembling woodland). Her incarta stretches across the back of her waistline. The base of the incarta resembles the bumpy line used to represent waves and is about an inch high. From the top, thin lines bend upwards, crossing over and wrapping round each other to look like a forest of thorns.
    PERSONALITY:
    Vena’s personality can be summed up in 3 stages. The first is the one she is most commonly known for. She keeps her emotions strongly under wraps and that makes it very difficult to tell what she is thinking – a problem as her mind always seems to be at work. She likes to keep herself busy; throwing herself into whatever odd jobs she can. Her work seems to devour her at times and she can become lost in it, doing things in a trance-like state that she will either snap out of in her own time or by sheer determination being shown by the person wanting her attention. She also seems to show more of her sensitive side; offering to help others if they need it. She considers other Awakeners to be part of her family and would fight and die to protect any of them.

    Her second personality is the one that appears during battle. It is cold and ruthless, driving her to lengths far beyond what people believe to be her natural limits. She believes in vengeance and rage and will never take prisoners unless it will result in even greater bloodshed later. Despite her drive, she remains calculated and quickly thinks through her actions before deciding her next move. Her physical agility plays a huge part in this, allowing her to slide past enemy attackers with ease. It makes her very difficult to surround. She prefers a close, physical battle; something that allows her to smell the blood of her victims when she kills them (thus her weapon of choice). Her malice in battle has given her a reputation amongst her fellow outcasts whilst her drive has often resulted in her going against the orders of one of her superiors; siding in the one that allows her to cause the most bloodshed.
    The side of her personality that no one has ever seen is bonded tightly to her race. Reial’s have always been a race considered to be ‘in-tune’ with nature and Vena is no different. When she feels like she needs to sort out her mind or become more centred, she seeks out an area of the Lumina Plains that remain untouched by her comrades hands and meditates. This allows her to come into contact with her childlike innocence – an aspect of her self that her banishment forced her to lock away.

    HISTORY:
    Nothing really beyond the usual. Being of a spiritual race, Vena didn’t succeed in hiding her Incarta for very long. The adults of her tribe chased her through the village, trapping her inside a small granary used to store food during the winter months when the forest could not provide for them (they weren’t ones for immigrating). Believing that her incarta was the result of an impure soul (she was the first to be discovered) they tried to burn her alive. Vena escaped by tunnelling her way out using her bare hands and ran for the Lumina Plains. She wandered for so long that she became delirious and tried to fight off the party that found her despite being only 9 years old. Admiring her ‘spunk’, one member of the party agreed to raise her and helped her to channel her energy into the art of battle. He was the one who granted her her blades and she refused to accept another weapon.

    NAME: Todd Chimbley

    APPEARANCE: Really damn short for someone his age, standing at only 4’7 with a scrawny build. His skin is dark, but whether it’s his natural complexion, or all the grime he’s covered in is uncertain. He has dark brown hair which is normally a mess and barely reaches his chin, and muddy brown eyes. His Incarta is on his right arm, is dark brown, and while is supposed to look like an ancient symbol of sorts, is really just a scribble.

    His clothes are also dirty and at least one size too big. A dirty, white undershirt, a bulky brown overcoat with matching pants and, gloves and worn shoes. He also wears a tall, old, brown top hat which reaches a foot in height, making his total height 5’7’’ with the hat.
    PERSONALITY: Crass would be putting it lightly. He’s rude and often insulting, only holding his tongue when doing otherwise would get him killed. He’s quite crafty and resourceful, using whatever he can use to his advantage, including lying to get him out of trouble. Despite his insulting nature, he’s a coward who only fights when he knows he’s got a good chance.

    IMMORTALIS: Known only as Grime. Grime is a rather interesting case as it doesn’t transform all of Todd’s body, only a part. Whether it be his arm, or leg, or anything. It can even form wings on his back, allowing flight. The transformed parts also seem malleable, able to stretch, increase in size and even density, becoming light enough to let anything pass through the as dense as rock. Interestingly enough, Grime almost appears to be composed entirely of dust, soot, and dirt.

    WEAPON: The broom he used in his cleaning jobs. He wields it like a staff.
    HISTORY: Todd was always poor, born into a family of six and ditched by his drunken father at six years old, he’s been roaming around, performing odd jobs to keep himself alive. Because of his rough life, he developed his rather crude way of talking, and often insults those who hire him. In the end, this is what caused him more trouble than anything. A rich man, angered by Todd’s crassness, tied him down and roughly engraved a fake Incarta into his right arm. With the fake Incarta in his skin, the man dragged him out of his home and accused him of being a demon caller. The people were quick to believe and Todd was chased out of town, barely escaping.

    He wandered around the Lumiun Plains for a couple of days, scrounging what he needed to survive, before being found by the Awakeners. Believing he wasn’t one of them, he denied being an Awakener and stupidly referring to them as demon callers. The leader of the party that found him tried to kill him, however, during the scuffle that followed, Todd accidentally managed to call forth the Immortalis Grime. Todd’s rather unique Immortalis cought his opponant off guard, giving Todd the advantage. He was brought before the Matria, who, despite Todd’s crude behaviour, allowed him to join them. He doesn’t get much respect due to his attitude, his grimy appearance, and the fact that he’s an Infericus.
    OTHER: He speaks with a cockeyed British accent.

    NAME: Haelin Curzleaf
    AGE: 31
    GENDER: Male
    SPECIES: Reial; his mother was of a mutant race commonly called cat-fairies. See History :x
    APPEARANCE: About six feet or a little less in height, Curzleaf is dapper and dark and the kind of person who blends into backgrounds with ease whenever they should wish to do so. Nary a hair out of place even in the harshest desert conditions, he moves silently and extremely quickly when the occasion calls for it. He is scrupulously clean-shaven, possessed of a long and clever face, and a long nose, slightly too long to be called handsome, though he is quite good-looking, in his own capacity. His ears are pointed, but not overtly so; his hair the colour of dust, straight, longish and tied back neatly.
    As far as clothing goes Curzleaf is orthodox in his tastes, as in he chooses clothing that is usually black and boring. He wears a coarse linen shirt under a cowl-necked, otherwise form-fitting charcoal-grey tunic, and over that a short surcoat reaching to his upper thighs. All this is belted at the waist with a nondescript piece of leather fitted with an equally nondescript brass buckle. Thick wool trousers are tucked into leather calf boots that have fur trimming (the only sign of frippery he has shown, so far). On longer journeys he brings a cloak and wide-brimmed hat.
    His eyes are grey and Reial-star-pupiled, but shine green when he is excited; simultaneously, the star pupils contract and narrow to slits. There is a faded scar on his torso right above where his heart would be. He has long, thin fingers, so fine that he should be a concert pianist and not the senior steward in the Palace of Dandis.
    PERSONALITY: A very discreet individual, Curzleaf is, as befits one who carved his way up through the ranks of servitude. He is exceedingly polite, rarely speaking out of turn; when he does, he prefaces his sentences with a delicate cough. On all accounts he is an extremely cultured and well-bred gentleman's gentleman who knows the proper sort of manners for anyone and anything; beneath this polished veneer resides a shrewd mind that will stop at nothing when turned to a purpose (including ruthless deeds and skulduggery of the highest [but respectable!] kind). He can be kind, when moved to be. It is very hard to surprise him.
    Also, despite his loyalty to the King (note that it is the King or Royal Family that his sentiments lie with and not Continental Command as a whole) Curzleaf displays a certain independence in execution of orders, in that he will use his own means to complete an objective, whether they be unconventional or extreme. He is not above using sarcasm when provoked. He has a wide range of talents, including but not limited to handling and repair of weapons, lockpicking, eavesdropping, scheming, rumourmongering, and of course housework of any kind.
    ALLIANCE: Common Folk, loyal to the Royal Family's interests
    RANK: 'Man of business' to the Royal Family - basically, he is a glorified odd-job man, performing all sorts of duties, minor and major. He could be considered reconnaissance; he does a fair bit of scouting and spy work. Curzleaf has also been known to carry out discreet murders, returning in time to supervise the cooking of His Majesty's roast.
    INFERICUS OR NATURAL: There are rumours that he is a Natural with the ability to summon Immortalises, though there is evidence strongly to the contrary
    MAGICK RANK: On the official records and of his owning (he could very well be lying), he is an Expert
    MAGICK SPELLS:

    Desc.: A simple divining spell, used to discover the owners of various items - the item in question may be footprints, or a discarded object, or simply a trace of fingerprints. The item glows faintly, and a name flashes briefly across its surface. The name can be any name applied to the owner, whether nickname, insult, or actual name.

    Name: Penny Dreadful
    Class: Arcane
    Power: Powerful
    Desc.: Renders magick currently being performed in the immediate area null and void, and stops any new magick being performed for as long as the caster wishes, though typically the length of time depends on the ability of the caster. The only actions that signify this spell has been performed is a short sotto voce chanting and the snap of a finger before the magick ban starts, although some victims have said that the sound made resembles the clink of a solitary coin dropped onto the ground. It requires great presence of mind to control the spell; once Curzleaf is distracted, the magick ban is broken, and a significant amount of his energy sapped. This does not work on Immortalises.

    There may be more to come, but I'll put the forms and descriptions in the topic before my posts for approval.

    WEAPON: A stiletto dagger and a rope.
    HISTORY: The father of Haelin Curzleaf was a proud, somewhat chivalrous Reial, a Natural caller of demons, that survived massacre by hiding in the desert when a young child and wandered the dunes ever since. This father of his had immense talent in the summoning of Immortalises and had, at the very least, two that he was bound to. He fell in love with a dark woman with green eyes and a clever pointed face, who liked walking at night and playing hide-and-seek (and he could never find her till she showed herself). It was very probable that the father of Haelin Curzleaf was a member of the Awakener renegades.
    It must be said here that Haelin Curzleaf was born with an Incarta directly above his heart, and that Curzleaf was not his father's name. His father died shortly after his birth, and he was raised solely by his mother, who took great pains to remove the Incarta from her infant son's body. She bleached and scratched and scraped and Haelin with the Incarta became Haelin with the suspicious scar. Over the years this scar stopped being quite so suspicious, scars naturally becoming less obvious with age.
    Haelin Curzleaf's mother travelled with her child to the citadel when he was barely a year old, and married a merchant of genteel but poor family. Haelin was scrubbing floors at the palace by the time he was seven, demonstrating great aptitude for almost anything he turned his hand to. The Old King, father of the present White Emperor, began to rely on his judgment after several incidents in which Haelin, his valet at the time, showed his not inconsiderable intelligence, and ignored the slurs and rumours; and for that Haelin was very grateful.
    Note on cat-fairies: Cat-fairies are the colloquial name for a mutant form of Reial. They have green eyes with slits to them instead of pupils, but are otherwise in appearance similar to the Reial, though they are extremely flexible in limb, and always land on their feet when falling. They like to walk in shadow, and occasionally display the ability to melt into one shadow, and come out of another. They are said to have no souls; also, the female of the race is the more dangerous, as she, having no soul, possesses not the spark of life to produce young, and should she have such an inclination she must eat the soul of her lover, that it may be reincarnated in the child of the union. The cat-fairy gene seems to be recessive, as they appear very rarely and are thought of as creatures of legend.
    OTHER: Haelin is most often addressed by only his surname: it's always just Curzleaf, or Mr Curzleaf, or "the Royal Demon Caller" if you want to get personal. ...Not that he can call any demons at present, nor, he suspects, would they come to him even if he tried.

    APPEARANCE: Cyss stands about 6 foot 2 inches with short black hair and his pupils are a dark silvery colour. He normally struts around in his platemail, though sometimes he opts for some lighter clothing for close combat since he is very lithe. One of his main identifying feature is a large gash down the side of his left arm which is from an old sword injury obtained through a training session.
    PERSONALITY: Cyss is usually a calm collected person but he is sometimes caught up in the heat of the moment and do a few stupid things that he will usually regret later on. Though his does have a focused mind when it does come to combat. He will always be cheerful around the people he knows but will always be suspicious of any newcomers.

    HISTORY: Cyss is one of those people who really doesn't have a tragic history, his up bringing was fairly normal. Being the son of Hykiss Baman who also used to be a captain for the continental command. But one day his father died while trying to control a riot in the middle of the town. From that day forward he vowed to serve in his father's place to protect the rest of his family.
