I watched the video again, and it was brown Mario.

I was so focused on the character picture, I thought that the white M on mario's brown hat was his headgear.

I'm looking rather forward to this game - what with all the new characters. I enjoyed Melee pretty much, and it has a lot of replay value, even after having finished the game. As opposed to other games... *glares at Pokémon Channel & Red*
And the new characters seem like a whole lot of fun to play (Pokémon Trainer, Sonic...) Plus, Adventure will be cool now it has a story. I wonder whether Smash Balls appear during boss stages? *"Go Pikachu! Use your Volt Tackle on Ridley!"*

But what I'd like to know is: you know how you can play the game with GameCube controller or Wiimote/Nunchuk? Well, I'd like to know whether you can play it with a combination of both. Say, Player 1 uses the Wiimote, and Player 2 the GameCube controller. Is that possible?
It would definitely save some euros on behalf of yours truly, because that GameCube isn't going to be played as much now with the Wii having backwards compatibility and all...

Yeah, you can mix up the controllers if you want. Basically, if four people are playing, one could be using just a Wiimote, one could be using a Wiimote + Nunchuk, one could be using a Gamecube controller and another could be using a classic controller.

Let's hope so! Also, do you know whether the saved game slots are for the adventure only, or for the entire game? Because it seemed to show which characters you had already encountered during adventure, but maybe that's just me.

Also, I reckon you can save somewhere inbetween stages during adventure? Since it seems to me like there have to be about 30 stages 'cause of all the action that takes place.

Incidentally, all of these Internet leaks have proved to be a definite double-edged sword, the old Dojo can't help but tell me stuff that I already know. I feel ashamed to have betrayed Sakurai. On the plus side, at least the updates still give you phrases you won't find anywhere else...

I think the Dojo still has stuff to offer, though. Look at the update about Zero Suit Samus's Final Smash. It talks about how to play as her without a Final Smash. It mentions the first method (the "Melee" Sheikesque one), which we already know, BUT, it also mentions a SECOND method:

Thing is, you’re going to have to put that command in pretty darn fast in order for it to work. If you’ve set your taunts to the +Control Pad on your controller, you’ll eventually input the command correctly if you rapidly hammer up and down on the +Control Pad.

It’s not easy, but how awesome is it that you can make Samus coolly switch between two completely different fighting forms! Try it out next time you feel like showing off.

Yeah, the Dojo quotes never get old. Speaking of the ZSS update, it sounds pretty interesting to have a way to switch between the two without a smash ball, I figured from the start that there would be a way to start in the Zero Suit, but I never thought there'd be a way to switch between both forms (almost) on the fly.

I didn't this morning, but me and my Dad did tonight, and I'm glad we did - it's Marth and Meta Knight in SSE!

I've actually seen that footage before on YouTube, but this is a MUCH better quality video! (I got a lot of great Marth screen captures out of it, and one of them is my latest desktop, heh-heh... )

I'm ready to brawl on the 9th! Me and my brothers reserved a copy Saturday. We also decided that our old copy of Melee was hopelessly lost and picked up a new one, so I've mostly been away from the Internet since then . Here's hoping that everyone else doesn't have to wait too long for brawl, after going through all the delays I can only imagine what it would be like to have to wait until fall.

Lucario was revealed today, which apparently confirms that the order that Sakurai is revealing the unlockables is based on how many vs. matches have to be played and not all veterans first. A couple oddities: I never saw the animation for Double Team, so I always thought it was Counter, so that threw me, also, I was always referring to Aura Storm as Hyper Beam considering that it looks the same as Deoxys' Hyper Beam. The good news is that this will finally shut up all the people who keep saying "stop crying that they took Mewtwo out, Lucario is exactly the same!" This begs a question, though: Snake is next in terms of how many Brawls you gotta play to unlock him, but he's already on the site! Do you suppose they'll waste an update to move him to the Secret Characters section and add the "How to Unlock" button?

I'm a member of Brawl Central's Forums now, and over there, they're saying that Sears is supposedly selling it early. I'm still reading the topic; I'll edit this post when I'm done.

EDIT: Okay, I just read it all, and I'm not sure what to make of it all.

Apparently, they MAY have been selling them early, but stopped when they realized they were breaking the street date. Also, a guy claimed there was gonna be a recall of the "Brawls" that did get sold, but he may have been just joking.

Did anyone else think Darth Vader when they heard Meta Knight's voice? Especially with some of his quotes like "Know my power!", and when he said "Come" I couldn't help but follow that up with "to the Dark Side!". I like Pit's voice though, that's just what I imagined him sounding like. Fox and Falco's voices sounded a bit odd at first after what I'm used to from Melee, but I'm sure they'll grow on me.

Some things I've learnt... Even after everything that's been shown, I hadn't known about Lucario's 'Aura'. I like it, I think it's neat that they're throwing so many random new things in there. Though one would imagine Lucario in Super Sudden Death would completely destroy everyone else, eh?

I thought Cresselia was 4 feet tall? Why is it a couple inches high then? ...Ahh wait, it could be in the background. Poor depth perception on my part. Though I actually think it looks pretty cool as this tiny little twerp of a thing.

Ike in the VA video, particularly at 1:38... proof that ANYONE can become a video game voice actor in a Nintendo game. Absolutely dreadful. The VA in general is horrid (though Meta works for me), and it makes me understand why most Nintendo characters don't speak. Is it really so hard to just bite the bullet and go back to the Star Fox 64 crew? I don't care that the characters are older, they can handle it. Additionally, I've recently discovered that SF64's Peppy also played Toad in Mario Kart 64. See? You can kill two birds with one stone! Pah... I'll just make it my mission to play Falco in a couple years. That'll sort it.

The game coming out has certainly doused my hype; actually knowing everything (except most SSE storyline details, yay!) does that, as well as me finally playing WoW for the first time. *gets pelted with blunt objects*

Oh and I don't know if anyone else has already found this out, but I was browsing around Serebii's brawl guide the other day and found out that one of the stages was unlocked by clearing event match 28, which surprised me considering I read in this thread that there are only 26 event matches which can each be played as either one or two players. I started searching around and found out that there were 41 one-player and 21 co-op events! While alot of the co-op events seem to be based on some of the one-player ones, they are, for the most part, different. So there ya go, 62 event matches, the wait is now all the more painful.

R.O.B. was revealed today, yes his English name is R.O.B. (the only reason he was called "Robot" in the Japanese version was because the accessory was called "Famicom Robot" there), and interestingly, his default color scheme in the US will be the Famicom colors and not the NES colors. I was really expecting them to swap those two color schemes.

Personally, I think the English voices are okay (Fox is my personal favorite of the bunch). Pit and Pokemon Trainer are a little annoying, but I think that's because there's nothing else going on the in background in CJay's voice videos.

That said, I'm VERY happy they didn't dub Marth!

Brawl is almost here!

So, is anyone picking up their copy at midnight? I was going to but decided against it, mostly due to the time change (midnight will be equivalent to 1am tonight) and the fact that I don't have anyone to go with me (one of my brothers is working, the second is asleep right now and it would be best to keep it that way no matter how much he wants Brawl, and the third is too young to be out that late). So I had to change my plans, me and my brothers are getting up early to pick up our copy tomorrow instead.

I'm normally big on picking up games for midnight openings, but if I got it tonight I'd just wind up playing single player all night and then when my friends want to come over and play in the afternoon I'd probably be in bed. So I've decided to just pick it up tomorrow. The only problem I might have is too many people wanted to come over to play.
