THE TPM TOURNAMENT

A long time ago, the Earth and another world were connected by a bond that could span millions of light-years. That world was simply known as the Feyworld, enchanted by magick, that world offered an escape from the harsh realities the Earth had begun to create. This bond was capable of transporting people vast distances in almost instantaneous time. But this rift in time and space would only appear when the Moon was full, so that its mystical power could focus in and make the bond safe to travel in.

But there came a time when the Earth’s harsh realities infected Feyworld, bringing about wars and diseases that ravaged the surface of the poor world. The Emperor of Feyworld decided that, to save the creatures of his planet, he had to destroy the magickal bond. On the night of the next full Moon, many attempted to cross into the enchanted verse, but alas, the golden bridge would not appear, and Earth’s people were left alone. The Emperor then determined; the only way this bond would ever form again was if he died and the world needed to pick a new leader. In his arrogance and stupidity, he thought he could never die.

He did. Many years later, but the Emperor was laid to rest and so Feyworld now seeks a new leader. The full Moon came once again, but the magick has realized that the Earth it once knew had changed drastically. There is little to no magick left, their wars had escalated into a race for the largest bomb, and technology, something Feyworld has never encountered, has spread like a virus. But alas, the spell held true, with that Moon it studied our world, and realized that the easiest way to pick a new Emperor was to infect and control the very thing that connected almost every single being.

The internet.

At the exact same moment, all over the world, every computer with internet connection abruptly crashed, leaving the screen with only a black screen with a strange poem displayed.

As abruptly as this poem appeared, it vanished, and the computers returned to their normal state. Earth’s people continued on with their lives, as if the massive internet infection was nothing more but a radical computer prank. The spirit of Feyworld waited until the night of the next full Moon. Out of all the choices it had, it chose one site above them all.

The way to choose the next Emperor has been decided.

Abruptly, sixteen people who were connected to The Pokemasters that fateful Saturday vanished. Sucked into their computers and transformed into data that could be manipulated and changed for Feyworld’s arena. All of them awoken to find themselves trapped in a world made of thousands of blue, translucent cubes and shards of data, which form nothing more than walls and one long path.

Starborns, there are sixteen of you, and seventeen elements related to the world you connect to every day. The only one you will not find is the bland element, of the norm and unchallenged. At the end of this path are stars of each element, you are to race down and choose one.

And in that instant, the challenge had begun.

BASIC RULES AND INFO

+This is NOT an official Tournament in RPG, but it had to be approved anyways because it's special =)

+ Courtesy (HAHAHAHA), politeness, attempting to get along, no flaming etc. All the basics for most if not all RPGs. If you have an issue with another player, IMs and PMs do wonders nowadays…
+ To make this clear, you are playing YOURSELF. What would you do if you were sucked into your computer and met other TPMers you happen to recognize (oh please don’ kill each other… Yet =D)?
+ The ASB format for battling is what we will be utilizing, NOT ASBRPG. If your not familiar with ASB standard rules, Please refer to their Rules Tower, Attack Tower, D/P Attack Tower and this Example Battle
+ Cursing is alright, but for the sake of readers, please do not over do it.
+ Have a nice day and remember to smile =D

ELEMENTS & SPIRITS

+ There are seventeen elements (types) mentioned in this RPG, however, you will only actively engage sixteen of them.
+ Your attacks are dictated by two things: the first is your element; the second is your spirit.
+ Spirits are essentially Pokemon, you are assigned to one Spirit and can use any of their attacks. If you use an attack your Spirit cannot learn, too bad so sad. Your attack has been wasted.
+ Everyone, no matter what type or Spirit, can learn: Mega Punch, and Mega Kick.

DATA FORM

+ A spiffy form you take when in battle, it is essentially armour to make these battles possible. They are relatively fantasy in design due to Feyworld’s nature, they are also associated with your element.

WINNING & LOSING

+ If you win a match, you move up in the tournament main ranking.
+ Winning a match gains you the reward of your opponents Spirit.You then are considered dual type and can further customize your armour.
+ If you lose, you are out of the tournament. No rematches, no second chances, the Game Master returns you to the real world as a bloodied and bruised mess.
+ You may continue to RP even if you lose in the tournament. A Story could be evolving in the real world about the people who disappeared for a while are now miraculously returning.

+ RESPECT the Refs, they are taking time out of their busy day to do this for you.
+ Do NOT flame or constantly argue with the Ref, if you are truly unhappy with how your Ref is performing, PM me and I will take it into concern.

Personality: DL is just ridiculous. He's a bit more calm than only a year ago, but even then, that brings no solace to those he knows. He'll be the one to jump over you in the middle of the street while you are in the midst of a cellphone conversation, and then moon you before running away.

However, he does work hard. Too hard. Obsessively hard. Until the job is done. he won't stop, often to the brink of insanity of exhaustion. TPM hasn't had to deal with DL for too long, but ASB sure gets a healthy dose of him since he loooooooves to ref. Also loves to run, and swim, and play Ultimate Frisbee. And well, lets see.

He's as normal as any ghetto child -turned-25 can get-still uses slang, still dances in the middle of the street and still curses every chance he gets. But he's with you forever if yer cool. Maybe if you really irk him will he get mad, but he'll usually turn the other cheek and plot your demise a year later (Yeah, he holds grudges)

Appearance: Towering over most at 6'4", the lanky boy loves to run all day. Nappy black hair is combed back to control the fro'ness!! Has goos tone muscle, and well, black eyes.(They're deep deep brown, but in less that sharp bright light, you'd see them as black)-giving people the feeling that...he might not have a soul...

Data Appearance: Brown, soft armor envelops the limbs, neck, and torso, with thicker parts on the chest, back, shoulders, thighs, forearms, and feet. A "helmet" of sorts also wraps around the head, with ventilator spots for the mouth and nose and goggles for the eyes.
Data Weapon: On his back is a a quiver of sorts housing half a dozen meter-long clay staves that are (for clay) suprisingly durable.

Gender: F
Personality: Three main facets; one being dark, brooding, and misanthropic, prone to random fits of anger and severe depression. This is often marked by her going out of her way to be a pain in the ass, confrontation, and nay-saying. One could say that this is her most selfish aspect, always out for herself, despite the readily apparent self-hatred. If left unchecked, this aspect will take over everything else, leaving her unable to properly communicate with others, and may cause self-mutilation and mild tremors.
The second is the fun-loving adult-child, a people-pleaser, hungry for attention and praise. This is very much the girl she would have been, had she grown up in a "normal", healthy environment. Obsessions with ice cream and cookies become apparent here.
Third is the unnamed facet, or rather, the one without a public name, for it is rarely, if ever, seen by anyone. However, it is her core, the true face. Various traits are often seen by others, though they don't stand out overly much; a love of reading and learning, the desire to know, the need for higher states of awareness. Where the other two are easily hurt, Raven lashes back in anger and Drusie breaks down, this facet sees past it all. This the the strong yet suppressed aspect.
Appearance: Long, dark hair that falls halfway down her back, green eyes, very fair skin with faint freckles on her arms and hands. Tall-ish (5'9), and very curvy, she is recovering from rapid weight gain with rapid weight loss. Wardrobe is predominantly black, with red, blue, purple, and white thrown in randomly.

Appearance: About 5' 8" in height with short brown hair and a skinny build. Always wears a long sleeve shirt with black fingerless black gloves. Wears long Khaki pants with a weird symbol on the left leg. His eyes are a darkish green and he always wears a a head band.

Personality: firepokemon is brash, fiery, quick to the point, a smartass and likes to troll and flame. Firepokemon may seem like an arse most of the time but he will stand up for what he believes is and after many battles at TPM standing up for what he thought was right, he is a changed person. Recently firepokemon has started to stop his flaming and trolling and is now beginning to return to his old self that he was back in early 2000. Often nostalgic, firepokemon is quick to recite old memories of TPM.
Appearance: 5ft10, brown hair slowly graying from the tire of the internet. Wearing Jeans and a fancy shirt, firepokemon’s eyes are bloodshot with bags under them due to the stress and insomnia he has suffered through his years.

Gender: *Looks down pants* Male!
Personality: Magmar is outgoing, hates violence but will fight if he has to. He likes ska music, running and working out twice a day (literally!), playing basketball, and eating ridiculously healthy food (and eggs! Lots of eggs! Yummy eggs!). Magmar loves to go to the beach and surf. His spoken English is terrible and "ghetto" (ex. "Mad heads were eatin price rite mcshit fast food"); his sarcasm and reactions to situations are witty and sometimes causes people to laugh at inappropriate moments (ex. Car crashes; "Bet you wish you didn't try to change your tampon in the car now...") Magmar is a Math major and as such has the ability to analyze situations quickly and find solutions to bizarre scenarios. He parties a lot, and is most excellent at Beirut.
Appearance: 5'8", wavy auburn hair, fit, and kinda cute (I've got cute lil puppy dog eyes). With a little scruffy beard thing going on. Athletic but on the skinny side. Dress a little preppy, a little punk rock--it's just me. Just picture an anorexic Jack Black! Haha.

Other: Magmar is the "longest tenured" member of TPM with the oldest active account. He listens to music like this.

Data Appearance: Light blue fabric for pants; a white Navy uniform shirt. Comfortable running shoes. Nifty gloves. I just drew it, but I have to go get fired from a job so I'll scan it later
Data Weapon: I'm of the sort that I don't like to carry a lot of weight around. Since Water is usually the defensive element, could my weapon be a Water shield? It's like a bubble that can deflect minor special and physical attacks. But in the end it is composed of water, and magnifies any elemental weakness to Electricity or Grass if it is being used--and does cost energy.

Personality: Sarcastic with a mostly optimistic attitude. Friends come and go, but he is the one person that they all seem to remember. From Grade-School to High School, his personality, work ethic, knowledge, and spastic mind-set. He’s an ear to those who need to speak and the voice of reason. Life hasn’t been easy, but he’s learned that you have to enjoy life or else you might as well die. ”Because you only get one life, and once it’s gone… it’s over.” Despite his lazier-fare attitude, he takes his friends very seriously, and will do anything to help them or fight for them so that they don’t have to. His serious side can come forth in times of life or death, but he’ll sometimes make either dirty or sarcastic comments if someone says something and leaves it open enough. He is stubborn (“to the point of stupidity”) and resilient (“too stubborn to die”) to the end.
Appearance: 6’4” with a large upper-body build. His body shape is more pear-shaped, slightly overweight in the stomach and abdomen, but it’s not that noticeable when he’s standing. His eyes are a hazel brown, with the green color more noticeable when he’s tired or serious. Most of his clothes are loose, a size too big for him normally, with big black pants interlaced with metal loops and chains. His hair is long, dark brown/black and usually kept tied up in a ponytail. His hair stretches down to between his shoulder blades. He currently has a whispy mustache and hasn't shaved for about two weeks, which leaves him with a decent beard along his chin.

Other: Denny/MM has a reputation of “living” on some of the boards. He’s known in RPG as an imaginative and dedicated RPer, Fan Fic as a random writer that no one comments on his works, and in ASB he’s still considered a newbie after several battles and losing almost every single one. He knows some of the members by recognition of their Username, and with his sarcastic attitude and appearance many think him to be a hard-core biker. He draws, writes, and a host of other activities that don’t pertain to PKMN.

Data Name: Dragon’s Storm
Data Appearance: The Armor... is weird. When the data wraps around him, it alters his body proportions, making his mid-section more toned and thiner. His legs go into a digigrade stance, adding an extra joint in his feet, similar to a theropod leg, with a long spike jutting out of the top of the ankle joint. The armor reforms his body slightly, making his legs thiner without losing any of the strength Covering his stomach, chest, and part of his neck is a different structure of armor that also extends along the long, nearly segmented tail. A cache of spikes tips the tail and small spines go down his back from between the spine of his back down the tail. His entire body is encased in red armor, with a helmet resembling a dragon's upper head resting on top of his head. The helmet, complete with glowing white eyes and bright teeth that jut out and then come down on around Denny's eyes, not blocking his vision. A large black mane of hair flows out from behind the helmet and seems to hang on the air. Large mechanical wings, with separate wide slices of material that connect to the rotating pivot on the high bend in the wing. On his forearms are several metal slices that stick out from the armor around his ulna. These are able to retract and extend depending on where his weapon sits, either in locked or fighting position. The "claws" are actually wide placed pieces of his armor with three sharp blades that slide up and wrap around his fists, giving him an effective variety of attacks that deal with close range and special attacks that give him energy around the claws and their holders.

Personality: Quiet and a bit on the lazy side. Once you’ve got him talking, he can be a nice, funny guy who’s pleasant to be around. However, for the most part, he’s the kind of guy you wouldn’t notice unless he actually talked to you first, and chances are he wont.
Appearance: About 6 foot in height with a bony thin build and an ok complexion. Dark brown, short-ish hair which falls into a fringe over the right side of his face and brown eyes behind a pair of rectangle rimmed glasses.

Gender: Male
Personality: Dave, or Blade, as he prefers to be known, is an enigmatic figure. One the surface, he appears to be a very friendly, if not snarky, individual, with a bit of a short temper and a tendency to be bossy at times.
However, beneath that bumbling exterior is a soul as cold and calculatingly rigid as his element. When this interior is exposed, Blade displays odd behavior ranging from random observations of random phenomena (ex., walking down the street at night, looking up at the sky, and suddenly musing over the size and contents of the Universe around him) to silently observing almost any event around him, be it friends telling jokes or a national disaster, to portraying a cunning, if not frightening vengeful side that won't rest until its provoker is destroyed.
No matter what his mood, though, Blade's heart always shines through, and as much as he tends to fuck things up, he'll always do everything he can to help a friend or even a stranger in need.
Appearance: Blade stands 5'10" and weighs 160 pounds. Perpetually unkempt, he has spiky black hair that pokes out in random directions, just above his cool blue eyes which are rimmed by glasses. Though skinny, he has some noticeable muscle build in his arms and especially his legs. He often wears little more than a T-shirt depicting some humorous quote or image or something more aethereal, depending on whatever he grabs from the closet that day, and a pair of grey sweatpants with paint stains on them. He only dons his worn, grey-white Nikes when leaving the house, and he almost never dresses formally.

Other: Blade hides a dark, deep secret that almost nobody knows... This secret only reveals itself when his anger overwhelms him, though...

Data Name: Omnus
Data Appearance: Blademaster's outfit converts into a kimono, and a frightening, skull-like mask appears over his face. Depending on his mood and health, the mask may cover only half his face or it may even appear to bond to his skin itself.
Data Weapon: Blade's weapon of choice is a sword with a green gem capping its brown, velvet-wrapped handled and a pale yellow hilt. The blade itself is six feet in length and, with a mere thought, can assume many steel-based forms, such as shields, maces, and grappling hooks.

Not afraid to speak the truth, something most can either love or hate with little in between, though more seem to unintentionally love than hate! He has a large capacity for care and kindess, especially for his friends. Admittedly, he can be a bit arrogant, particularly about knowledge and ‘facts’, but most can easily be covered my his light humor and sarcasm. All in all, he’s a very fun-loving person!
Appearance: At an average 5’6”, Fai is a little on the cubby side; nothing largely noticeable without knowing numbers. His dark brown, curly hair is about shoulder-length and... just kinda does it’s own thing. While usually clean shaven, the rest of his body is covered in a moderate coat of dark hair, considering he’s Irish and Italian. Even though his skin is rather pale, it’s not as if he’s never seen the light of day, considering he does have a tiny bit of muscle tone.

Data Appearance: Umm... Go Piccy Powers!! (courtesy of my awesome tomodachi, Asuka!)
Data Weapon: Yuui uses a pair of wrist blades, but the only visible part are the bangles around his wrists. The ‘blade’ part is made of psychic energy and is only seen as a haze or fuzzy warp in reality around the outside edge. If and when the blades are visible to someone, they look like a field of wavering, lavender energy. The bangles have a triple crescent on the topside and are made of a pewter substance with a knotted pattern.

I know that I haven't really written in the last couple RPGs for which I signed up, but I was just reading some of my old posts from the Official Tournament for the sake of nostalgia, and it reminded me of how much I missed it.
