Chrono Trigger to be Remade for the DS

I can honestly say that I'm pretty excited for this. I think I may be able to break my DS Lite out again after some fuzzy experiences with other games.

How bizarre is it that after all the years this game has existed, the very year that I actually notice it and begin wishing I could play it is the year they decide to re-release it. I'm so incredibly excited, I can't express just how gobsmacked I am that fate has decided to throw me a bone so incredibly quickly.
Watch this one fly, and I mean fly off the shelves.

My game budget is already stretched razor-thin with my newfound love for the DS spurring me into buying Contra 4, The World Ends with You, at least one Phoenix Wright game, at least one Castlevania Game, maybe Yoshi's Island DS, and the soon-to-come Pokemon Platinum, and now they're throwing out yet another game I missed as a kid that I'm gonna have to check out...

That reminds me, Pants. Didn't Square plan on doing a sequel to Cross at one point, only to be scrapped in the early stages?

It's unsure exactly how far into development the game got, but they did at one time register the trademark Crono Break. The trademark expired a year or two ago and they didn't renew it so most people assume the game was quietly canceled.

The guy at the game store told me that the release date was December 2nd. (Just in time for the holidays.) I was able to reserve a copy.

If you plan on reserving a copy, I suggest you do so. It's gonna be big.

Can't get the DS version right now and I've got a broken SNES so I'm reduced to playing the PSX version with it's horrible sound and ungodly load times. Even so this is a true classic and one of those games that everyone needs to play at least once. Hopefully I can pick up the DS version at some point. I'm mainly looking forward to the new translation and the new end boss. I've seen the videos on You Tube and without bringing up a spoiler it goes without saying that this has a major effect on things in regard to Chrono Cross and some theroies in regard to the series as a whole.

The announcement of CTDS got me into a big Chrono mood again. Hopefully strong sales on this will convince SE that Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest aren't the only cash cows they have.....here's hoping we see Chrono Break within the new few years ^_~

My little sister and her boyfriend saw fit to buy this for me for Christmas. Played a couple of hours of it at my Grandmothers house today. It's nice to finally play a decent version of the game. I've only played a ROM or the god awful PSX version in the past. I do like how even with the game (partly)re-translated Chrono is still spelled Crono.
