So how many games do you really own?

Alrighty y'all, I've been gaming for a fair few years now, and over time my collection has grown pretty robust... I thought it might be interesting to see if this is an impressive amount, or if compared to the efforts of others this is a piddly little sum.

Evidently, that number currently totals 212 games.
I've used IGN's game collection feature to list them, but of course you don't have to feel obligated to do the same. Just makes it easier to keep track, and keenly note that the collection's estimated value is something like $6,519.56. Dah-yumn.

Funny then how it seems I can never find something to play? So how bout everyone else? Anyone got a golden recommendation tucked away in there? Wanna advise us to steer clear of anything?

In a future post, I intend to give you some lists; favourites, least favourites and the like, but that can wait.

Technically speaking, I am not exactly a game guy if I had to compare the 212 games that you own against the number of games that I had off course in hand. Most of the games that I played are usually interactive games that are downloadable from the net. Also being an anime guy, there are times when you have to play certain games to actually understand a particular series better. The number of games I have possessed, sadly speaking can only be counted with just both of my hands.

About 5 games (the SMB trilogy, Concentration, and Tetris), later got a box of 60-something others that I never played from a friend including Taboo, Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, Jackal, and a shitload of other games I can't remember off-hand.

SNES
About 15 games here, including the kick-ass DKC trilogy, the two Super Mario World games, and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.

Genesis
Ten or so games here. My favorites were X-Men and Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition.

Game Boy Color
Only about 5 games here (Pokemon Yellow, Gold, Crystal, the TCG game, and the first Yu-Gi-Oh! game). Can't remember any more.

N64
Fifteen games, easy. Super Mario 64, Mario Kart, Paper Mario, Super Smash Bros., and Mario Party all got their starts on this baby; I still play all of them. 'Course, other franchises like Turok and Micro Machines 64 were pretty sweet, too.

GBA
About 8 games here. Mostly Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! stuff, again. And Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, of course.

Gamecube
I had about 20 games on this one. You can probably guess four of them; I was introduced to Timesplitters and Top Gun: Combat Zones on this puppy, too. Good times, good times...

DS
So far, at least 15 games on this thing, including a few Castlevania titles, Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword, The World Ends With You, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, Sonic Rush... A lot, really. Still looking for Contra 4, though. (sigh)

Wii
About 20 games (including my first Zelda, Twilight Princess [Go me.]), plus another 30 on the Virtual Console and WiiWare, including Super C, Contra III: The Alien Wars, Super Castlevania IV, Ghosts 'N Goblins... I know, I'm a masochist. Shut up. (is not a conservative spender, either).

Atari 2600
Exactly 31 games. Ranges from classics like Breakout and Asteroids to the lowest of the low: Pac-Man 2600 and E.T., The Extra Terrestrial.

Xbox360
A dozen or so games (again, Turok FTW, and Burnout FT epic W), along with 20 others on Xbox Live Arcade (Galaxy Wars, Braid, Castle Crashers... Retro games on modern consoles rock so damn hard.).

PC
I'd say 2 dozen or so games here, ranging from kid stuff like Mario Teaches Typing and Math Blasters to the uber-mature Fallout and Fallout 2, and Clive Barker's Undying. Primo stuff.

Other
I have 4 games on my cell phone (Tetris, Pool, and some Bejeweled knock-off, I think.), and I frequent Popcap.com and VirtualNES.com, where I have about 50 more awesome retro games I love ready to go at any given time, like Contra, Zuma, the Megaman sextuplets, Bejeweled that ISN'T a cell phone knock-off, Double Dragon, Dr. Mario, the first two Tetris games, Gyruss, Q*Bert, Shatterhand, and a shitload of others. I also have ZSNES, but I only use that for ROM hacks that can't be bought, like good old Kaizo Mario World.


That's a total of about... 341 games.

No... Wait, make that 342 - I had the original Mario Paint, too. That thing ROCKED.

The rest of them are permanent though, hehe. Especially all the Final Fantasys. Also, FFVII: Crisis Core would be on there but I nicked my bfs. FFXIII and Versus XIII will be on the list when they come out/I save for a PS3. Oh, and FFIV DS, too. Cannot WAIT to get my grubby mitts on that and Spore.

I probably have about 250 games. It's hard to keep an exact count because a lot of my friends and family treat my room like a blockbuster. I had more but I sold about 80 or so Xbox 1 games and 15 or so PS2 games a year and a half ago because I never played them. Kinda wishing I didn't now because I didn't get a lot of money for them.

No, unfortunately not. The fact that they were never released here isn't the biggest roadblock, thanks to Ebay, but at the moment I wouldn't know where to put it since I'm running out of storage space. But it's on my list of "curiosities" I want to get at some point.
