    Cool Happy Halloween!

It's that time of year again. When tiny ghosts, goblins and gnomes roam the streets, bang on your doors, and demand confections. When the spirits of the undead possess all the land's rotund orange vegetables. When the world's children don disguises to avoid the wrath of the vengeful Great Pumpkin.

Yes, it's All Hallow's Eve once more. Will you celebrate this ceremony by pumping your veins with enough sugar to drive an elephant berserk, or will you hide from the terror in your darkened lebensraum with only televised horror films there to comfort you?
    IT HAS RETURNED.

Speaking of which, I gots me a camera that I can figure out. Expect some pics later or tomorrow: My costume AND a little something I made are on the way!

EDIT: It's time for some pictures motherfuckers.

    Here's my jack-o-lantern:

I made a Mario face last year; this year is the Hylian crest, from the Zelda games (Twilight Princess, specifically, is where this crest design came from.).

...And here's the costume I wore, which won me a costume contest and got me first prize: a $140 Weber grill!

    Take a look:

That's been my costume for the past three years... Third time's a charm, eh?

    Great Halloween, all in all.

Halloween for me will never be what it was. Obviously the age makes for one thing, but in Australia it's not a real holiday. All the same, people like to pretend it is to get some candy and get wasted. Charming.
Anyhow, work was all decked out with Halloween stuff - worked on Halloween day; it wasn't as exciting and festive as I expected. In actual fact, the real Halloween-like day was the 1st of November (we're celebrating the 'Halloween weekend', you see) where all the staff were really in character, and the place was packed with people. Nothing quite as fun as waltzing around, fixing games and scaring the crap out of people by hovering over them or shouting from behind them suddenly while in this getup...

Nothing spectacular, but it got the job done. That was my getup on Saturday. I wore it a little bit on Friday, too, but for most of that day I was wearing a Scream costume. I much preferred being able to show some emotion though, as well as show off an original character. I don't know which there was more of; children I delighted or children I terrified.

I go for the terror. I was expecting to see half a billion Jokers around Halowween night, but I only saw 5 total. Kinda shocking. It's funny though, people were like "OMG I saw like (insert number lower than 9) Jokers, there's so many!!"

Yet they're in a cowgirl/slutty nurse/devil/stupid ass made to be sexy when yer fatass can't fit in it costume thing, and there are like 9000 of you. Come on; its New York frickin City, I EXPECT duplication, but yours is far more common than mine. I find it to be a bit cloed minded on their part.

But yes. Twas a fun weekend, and now its Marathon time whoo! Should be passing my block pretty soon actually.

Halloween isn't nearly as big in the UK as it is in America. I thought it was getting less popular, but I figure there are probably just less kids living in my area these days. We had 2 groups of trick-or-treaters at our door on Friday (we had one a week earlier too), but my friend was out of sweets by about 5pm.

Didn't really do anything special, went to my friends house, had alcohol, pizza and watched some downloaded TV shows and stuff, I left my house before the kids started coming and by the time I got over there all the sweeties were gone so no kids came over so the whole day was pretty much just normal.

I'd like to say that I had the best halloween ever, but if I told you why, you'd laugh. But no I didn't trick or treat.

But for the record I went all hawaiian.

We didn't have Halloween around here. But the local television network decides to pull up together some events and so has the local pubs and bars. So much for being in the wrong part of world, where we missed the fun of spooking people.

    *sulks*

But then hey, I wouldn't be able to attend it too even if it is celebrated here. I am going through my examination period!

    I like your fan Blademaster.

But, in other news, I personally despise Australia celebrating Halloween. I saw maybe 4 groups of children with parents doing it the other night. I glared at them as I rode by.
Then I went to work and worked o/n and didn't do anything but watch Daria on my iPhone.

I always wondered, what's the issue with Australia and Halloween? It's not like it's made to be an American holiday like Thanksgiving, nor is it like celebrating Christmas in Israel. It doesn't really pertain to any nation or religion.

Then again they don't do it in Israel, even though Jews in America and England celebrate it... I guess that's because there already is another costume/candy holiday.

I spent Halloween like I have the past couple years, at stack site for Aggie Student Bonfire. There were so many rules (safety) of what you have to wear (boots, jeans, helmet) and can't wear (capes, masks, eyepatches) I just said fuck it and wore my pumpkin costume I wore when I was like 9. Despite alcohol being replaced with tootsie rolls, I still had fun! Besides, in college Halloween lasts for like a month anyway, so it was no big loss.

That's generous, but the power points wouldn't work here. Thank you for offering but.
