    Default Fallout 3

Are any of you already playing Fallout 3 on any system?

I got the PC version earlier this week and must say I am very happy with the game so far. I am not sure many of you are old enough to remember when Fallout 1 was released a decade ago or its sequal two years later. I loved those two games but when seeing mixed reactions on boards everywhere I started to doubt whether the game still has the post-nuclear flair the original had. Well I am glad my doubts where unnecessary. So far I did not even miss the turn-based-combat which always made me worry the most.

So, what are your own thoughts? Got anything interesting to say about the game? Does it meet your expecations? Got any interesting tidbits to share?

I had to open the game console for the first time yesterday to spawn some robots in a bugged quest and an NPC in Megaton just dropped down to her death. I wish they would test such things out a bit better in the beta version. Only minor flaws in a so far astonishing game experience though.

    Don't have it yet.

    MUST GET IT.

It better work, though. I had Fallout and Fallout 2 in a 2-disc pack my step-brother gave me as a pre-teen; Fallout 1 was kinda disappointing, and Fallout 2 crashed everytime I tried to kill Big Jesus Mordino.

Incredibly engrossing game, and its the first time I ever played a Fallout game. My only complaint is that it seems the world never got out of the 1950s even though the Nuclear Event didnt happen till the late 2070s. I mean like WTF!

The game is meant to seem like it never left the 50s. It's suppose to have the post World War 2 feel to the game.

Fallout 1 is one of my favorite PC games of all time, never got too far into Fallout 2 though. I got Fallout 3 for Xbox and so far(almost level 9) I am enjoying it tons.

I wish the combat was still turn based. The real time is alright, but I had a lot of fun with the turn based stuff. Also the game isn't quite as funny as the first two. What I do really love about the game is just how real it feels. I also like the fact that every skill now has a use. In the past games it seemed pretty pointless to take a skill like science. Now there seems to be a reason to pick every skill.

From what I heard the general old-stylish look of Fallout world is pretty much based on how the people in the 1950s/60s imagined the future in a 100 years to be.

I'm level 11 now and reached Rivet City yesterday. Must say though that game crashes start to occur more frequently now which is rather annoying. Well at least I know they'll release patches for it.

I love this game, Ive been playing it on the ps3 version and its very addicting lol I can tell they used a lot of oblivions game engine but instead of making it seem like a ripoff game it actually takes the best stuff from that game and adds on to it. Plus its so creepy playing in a smashed up nuclear version of my own backyard o.o

By the way if anyone is considering taking the "Lawbringer" perk at Level 14. Let me make this clear...

    DONT

The person that you meet that exchanges the fingers for money, will run outside after the first one. The house has multiple Big Scorpions around it so when they run out the person will almost certainly die or run off in fear to a location that will be nearly impossible to follow. Thus the perk is only useful once before it becomes useless due to a glitch in the game.

Remember the level cap is 20 meaning you only have a limited number of perks.

They're RAD Scorpions. And can't you just kill them all?

You can but they tend to respond if you exit the house or Fast Travel there because of all the Cows outside.

Rudy does this nasty thing where he picks up the bodies of people he killed and swings them around and throws them at other people, and when hes done with that he chops them up and carries the pieces around to "show" everyone else >.> lol its really sick.

I have a purple haired asian character and Im going the very good path atm, the way Im doing it is whenever Im given a karma choice I choose the good part, but in games like this I just cant stop myself from stealing everything not nailed down lol So far that hasnt really hurt my karma though Oh and I helped that girl in Rivet city get laid, pretty proud of myself rofl and currently Im doing Moira's quests for that book shes writing, daddy will just have to wait

I've finished the survival book quest myself. It was very tedious but Moira is just so lovable, can't say no to her requests. By the way, am I the only one who can't pass by a single factory or other building and just has to head inside and clear the entire place?

Am I the only one that was reminded of Sarah Palin during the Moria quest? Something about that accent.
