I RETURN! I've decided that my endless browsing of TPM should be more productive... so I decided to come back to ASB after my endless hiatus! ^_^ So I'm looking for anyone who'd like to battle just to give me a warm up so that I can get back in the "feel" of this ASB thing! Muwah! Need a ref too!

I'm in! We started an ASB battle months ago and we never finished!

Alright! Might as well start so that a ref can take over right away. :3

Kalah stood near near a few of the steps leading up to the main stretch of the top of the Great Wall and across from her stood Shonta. They had a friendly score to settle from a previous battle, and Kalah was just itching to get back into the swing of things.
"Thanks for coming!" Kalah called to her, giving a wave. Eager to get things started, Kalah shuffled through her bag before she finally settled on a pokeball with a symbollic moon sticker stuck to the outside of it.
"Alright, it is time to strut your stuff! Go Mei!" The pokemon landed to the ground swiftly after Kalah threw out and with a flash of red a fluffy brown ball of an Eevee appeared.
"Eeeeveeee!" She cried happily, her tail wagging with excitement.

"This is going to be fun!" I said happily as I dusted off my old pokeballs. After a minute of silent debate, I tossed one into the air and let out my Taillow. The bird circled me and landed on my shoulder. "Ready to battle?"

"Taillow! Taillow!" Skye chirped in excitement. He took off and hovered in the air in front of Mei, waiting for commands.

"Okay, Skye! Start this off with a Double Team and Supersonic combo! Then hit Mei with Steel Wing!"

Kalah watched the Taillow for a moment, admiring the bird's grace as she nodded and looked to Mei.

"Alright Mei, let's do our best! Try to eliminate that Taillow's edge over you with Swift to take care of any confusion! And then follow it up quickly with Quick Attack to try to prevent that bird from getting that supersonic off! Then try to go head-to-head with its steel wing with an Iron Tail!"

::The ageless referee with a hidden past now found himself idly staring at the expanse of the Chinese landscape. The wonders of hundreds of years of history, both human and universal, lied beneath his feet. Taking a moment to stare upward, he pondered the beings that were staring down at him, from this immense structure of human ingenuity.

Happy for the time being, Dl spun on the wall's edge, now facing inward to the path that led across its top. Breaking away from the tour group was easy, they'd never suspect a tall dark foreboding figure to do any mischief in China !

Eyes glistened with excitement as the fabled commands of Pokemon trainers were heard, and his hand dove into his trench coat, Running toward the two combatants, Dl kicked off the wall with his right foot, attaining enough height to rip his coat off. Revealing his usual reffing garb and microphone in hand, the ref landed, left hand outstretched in a beckoning gesture.::

===Round 1===

"No worries no worries *ack* I'm alright *Growlhack*. Whew. But yes, we are here on the Great Wall of China, with B4 and Classy cat, ready to duke this out once more! Mei the Eevee and Skye the Taillow are the Pokemon chosen, and well, let's get this battle started!

Skye takes the natural surroundings and adds a little Taillow magic to it, zipping around the ever expansive sky and splits into three. Mei can barely keep up with the little bird zipping over her head and diving left and right, but she lets her Swift stars do the hard park. They fly through the modulated clones and strike Skye, faltering her left wing. She spirals down, giving Mei enough time to speed across the bridge.

Skye recovers, but not before the brown ball of fluff shoulder-checks him, forcing all the wind from his wings and lungs. Skye falls on the wall, Mei bouncing back with glee. That Attack was so Quick, Skye lost his focus for doing the Supersonic attack!

Skye looks a little dusty, but doesn't seem phased at all. He lifts his wings, and chirps something to the Eevee, before taking off toward him at a blistering speed. He didn't even look blue, but more of a metallic color. Mei doesn't seem phased by the Winged bullet flying toward her. She takes the challenge and dashes toward the bird. The two slightly curve their paths upward, Mei leaping and curling into a ball. Her tail seems to have increased in density-but so has Skye's Wing! They collide and a definite metallic clang can be heard, that shakes both Pokemon. Skye continues upward from the clash, Mei landing on all fours and looking back up at the avian.

And the first rounds over! The crowds up here seem glad, and hey, we even have people running over to congregate. Step on over folks, this battle's just begun!!

::Is suddenly blinded by the barrage of tourist camera flashes.:: So..bright...

Kalah braced herself as she watched Mei battle, her tongue sticking out slightly from sheer concentration. "Good speed Mei! You can keep up with the bird! Now, let's strut your stuff and use Attract! Then let's wear him down with Toxic! Then finish the set off with Shadow Ball!

I held my breath and made myself exhale. "We might have had a rough start but we can make up for it!" I shouted. "Now Skye, use Protect to shield yourself from Mei's charm! Then use Double Team again to avoid the Toxic! If she still manages to hit you, use Refresh! Otherwise, use Air Slash!"

"Spotting the flight path of the avian, Mei quickly began to prance about in a most regal manner, showing off her Attractive cuteness. She definitely generates a bunch of ooh's and ahh's from the crowd. However, I notice that Skye...docent give a rat's poop about the fluffball. He's busy setting himself up for his next move, idly Protected by the shield he threw up as a precautionary measure from anything that might come his way.

Shield rippling down, Skye pants, Protect always takes alot out of you. But his plan would see fruition, as he sped down toward the ground. Mei looked straight up, to see the divebombing play once again, only this time with 4 Skye's instead of one. Unsure whom was real or not, she spat a glob of purple nastiness at the one directly above her.

The glob flew through the clone, as the rest dispersed, each shooting off and cycling around Mei. Mei stepped back, the Toxic orb splattering on the ground in front of her.

Annoyed by this bird flying around her head, Mei makes a snap judgment, and calls upon a ghostly energy. Skye catches sight of this ad stops flying around Mei. With each bird at a different point around her, Mei sizes up her targets carefully...

and fires. Just then, Skye and co. dart toward Mei. The real Skye is actually in line with the Shadowball, and flies harmlessly through it. Obviously confused, Mei has no time to react as the birds suddenly stop directly in front of her. All at once, the Air behind the birds comes up to Mei and blasts by her, Slashing her body.

B4 suddenly gives me the evil eye.. There's nothing I can do about it Kalah, Ghost moves don't work on Normal Types! That's how the battle goes! But..you know for next time?"

(roflmao, I have this same problem in my pokemon game where I keep thinking Shadow Ball is a Dark type move. xD xD CURSE YOU PURPLE COLOR!)

Kalah frowned, looking at Mei who was quite perturbed herself. "Sorry Mei, that was my fault... let's do better this time, alright?" Mei gave a nod- keeping her eye on the bird fluttering about her.
"Alright, let's fire back our own Swift to take care of those darn clones! Then let's show off our own speed with Quick Attack! Then try to knock that bird down with a Body Slam!"

"The duo seemed to have the same thing in mind for this round, and lo and behold, it was. Swift stars flew out from in and from Skye, and each just shielded themselves as best they could. Everyone in the area sucks as Stars go ricocheting off each other. Skye was hit by two renegade stars, Mei by three. The clones Skye had vanished instantly...and yet, they still look ..alright...

Circling each other warily, Skye quickly shoots skyward, taking Mei off guard. Mei however, takes off down the side of the wall, spectators turning and snapping photos. The brown streak speeds back as Skye speeds back down and it becomes a strange series of blue streak vs brown streak. The crowd applauds and really gets on their feet when Skye stops moving first, Mei faltering a little behind the bird and totally biffing it on a passerby's suitcase. The little bird hops off of the man's head, chips, and walks away proudly, Mei just a little irate.

The heightened speed Taillow seemed more than eager to perform her next trick for the crowd of applauding spectators! She flies at Mei, and Mei once again takes the charge. Mei jumps early though, giving Skye enough time to use that speed of his to perform a barrel roll around Mei's body. One of his feet was sticking out oddly, talons stretched out. Mei ironically, was slashed by a very tricky Aerial Ace right there. But as Skye's trick ended, He meet stiff denial of a victory flap. Mei's just leaned her body weight against the bird when he was close enough in midair. Coming down, Skye was unable to move around Mei's fluff in time and ended up being Slammed into the Wall by Mei's Body."

"Stuck under fluff and claws, Skye flapped violently, even as the little pup began whacking Skye over the back with his Tail. The hits started to become more Iron-laden, but soon ceased to cause Skye any more pain. That's because Skye unleashed a pretty powerful Supersonic blast that pushed Mei back Before real pain could be dealt.

Mei turned around, looking at all the radical colors worn by all the tourists. The flashes of light were not helping either...she stumbled and rolled on her belly. Being confused sucks..

Skye took the opportunity to seize up as much Focus as he could. He flew up (with some difficulty at first) and was able to achieve his energy needs..

Skye quit waiting for an opening, and just dove right for Mei. Mei stood up, seemingly knowing something was amiss. with the flashes paused for the moment, Mei looked up with dizzied eyes to eye the azure streak ram into her left side with force!!. Skye put so much power into that hit that Mei slammed into the wall and didn't move for a moment.

The Eevee twitched, slowly setting her feet on solid rock. Her continued confusion was rapidly disappearing, as her brain was focused on the feeling in her lungs and not the sound in her head. Mad as an Eevee can get, she ran for Skye, whom landed after that attack. Biting his wing was her only goal. She did it. Hard. "

There wasn't much of a gap between the two but Skye was still behind. I winced at the sight of Mei's teeth in that wing. "Relax, buddy! Use Supersonic again to get her off! Then use Quick Attack and Mirror Move!"

The battle was really close, but Kalah grinned lightly at Mei's determination as she chomped into the Taillow's wing. "Great job Mei! Then go all out with Take Down!"

"As we reach the fifth interaction of Mei and Skye, its Mei who takes matters into her own ..paws. She jumps on Skye, whom tucks his wings in from that last bite, and is then squished by that Body Slam. Stuck beak up, Skye screams that Supersonic into Mei's ear. Mei quickly backs up, eardrum pounding.

Mei looked around, but something was wrong. The pain was so strong...that she was possibly seeing things. Skye smirked, and smacked the poor Eevee whom was sniffing a fwower! People hissed, why hit the cute confused Eevee?

The flock watched as Mei began to..play with her tail. Adorable...I guess. The tourists love it though. Skye doesn't though, and chirps, trying to garnish attention as well. Mei however, notices this bogart running in on her cuteness, and she does not like it. Skye was suddenly run up on, and Taken Down!! HARD! Dust ruptured from the ancient bricks, as Mei backed off, no longer confused. Skye barely recovers...and returns the favor!

Skye rams Mei so hard she flies into a Tourist, breaking their glasses. Eeee...a lil TOO focused there Skye."

"Alright Mei, good job! Way to hang tough!" Kalah called to her Eevee. Kalah glanced at the Taillow for a moment, before snappinger her fingers with an idea. "Mei, use Yawn first! Then, wag that tail of yours and use Tail Whip! Finish off the round by showing off those shiny teeth with Bite!"

This wasn't good. If Skye got drowsy then it'll make him more open to attacks! "Skye, try to hit her with a Quick Attack before she gets that Yawn out! Then counter her Tail Whip with a Growl! Finally, use Steel Wing against those teeth!"

"This match continues as Quick as could be. Before the tourist even has time to take Mei off his head, Skye is up there, Attacking Mei and knocking the Eevee to the ground. Landing on his feet, Mei Yawns off that weak attack. Skye falls back to the ground, wing still pained.,..and now he's drowsy.. CRAP!

Planning to soothe the little bird, Mei turns around and Whips her Tail left and right. Skye looks for a minute. It have transfixed these simple minded humans, but not Skye. She hops around-a lil slower-to face Mei, and Growls right in her face. Mei, kinda shivers, she didn't know Birds could growl.

Hrm. Mei seems a lil less confident in her abilities. But Skye looks danged sleepy-he;s fighting to stay away. Pawing closer, the mammal watches Skye's eyes droop more and more. When she thinks his eyes are shut, she lunges, pinning her target and Biting at her right wing. That woke up the Taillow.

Skye wriggled weakly in protest at first, but was able to snap out of his daze and beat a Wing free. That Wing connected with Mei's skull. Ow. Mei rolled on the rocky Wall, before coming to a stop. Her head was swollen.

My fists clenched and unclenched. Skye had done well in the last round, but his wings were most likely too damaged to fly. "Skye...use Rage. Then use Roost, but just enough to get your wings healed. Finally, use Mirror Move."

Kalah frowned slightly, "Well Yawn was a waste of a move..." she thought, before shaking her head and assuming a more battle-ready-trainer-position. "Mei! Hang in there girl! Quickly use Double Team to avoid getting hit by rage! Then while that bird is just sitting there, use all of your strength and use your on of your most powerful attacks, Iron Tail! Then take a break for the round, gather some energy back and don't do any move that could have that bird copy you."

Skye was really pushed to the end of his rope. This little pup was ripping him limb from limb. So, before Mei could do it again, he'd have to have a little one-on-one with her. That then proved to be difficult, as Mei quickly split into 4 exact copies, and ran all around Skye. Skye picked the nearest one to go all crazy on, unleashing her Rage..on a brick.

Skye was tired after that. So, he tried to fly upon one of the walls gaps and nestle in for a nice Roost. Barely able to hop that high, Skye and was able to settle in with a little one room spot-complete with dust bath and brown bug puupuu platter.

Mei didn't like what she was seeing. He got 5 star service at the Great Wall? No. Walking over, Mei's tail went from fluffy to dense, and Skyewas crushed in the wall by a well-aimed Iron Tail. She [insert Eevee's sound of anger here] at teh bird for trying to relax on her, and demanded he come out and fight.

Understandably so, Mei seems annoyed. That bird seemed healthier. She plops down, stumped. Least Skye got a room. What she got? A bunch of slack jawed yokels eyeing her fluff. Skye looked over at her..and well just sat there.

"Oooh, cookies!" I momentarily broke away from the actions to get a few. Then I was back at the battle, fully prepared. "Skye, just focus on getting some of that energy back. Find somewhere safe to perch and Relax. If Mei looks like she's going to hit you, Quick Attack to get away."

Sitting still, Skye looked up at the clouds. They floated by-and right now, he wanted to float with them. But noooo. Stinky ratball over there always wanna bash his wings. Turning his now sinisterly angry glare toward Mei, Skye witnessed a very fast fluffball aiming another Iron Tail for him.

He quickly dashed left, watching the Tail hit beside him. Mei however found herself missing a clone, as Skye sped through it trying to escape.

Looking over, Skye watched the duo. Some of the onlookers began to move their way alongside the wall now, as this battle seemed to be getting dragged on a bit. The cookie man stayed, he was interested.

The pair of Mei's dashed at the bird, hoping their Quick Attack would be perfect. It was..not! Skye moved once again, crashing into the real Mei! They both fell backwards, stunned from their surprise.

Not feeling the urge to move this time, Skye just tucked his wings in and started wobbling in place, throwing dust upon himself. Mei watched, and then began to roll around herself. Pretty sure she's just doing that to see how it feels.

I laughed to myself as I watched Kalah's Eevee roll again in the dirt. It may have been a little dirtier now, but the sight was too cute. Plus it helped keep away parasites. "Skye, use Agility to get you some speed. Then use Aerial Ace! Then relax, unless Mei tries to get you again. Otherwise, use Quick Attack.

Skye, feeling alot healthier then Mei at the moment, continued his dust bathing. It became apparent that the dust rolling was more than just for bathing as he turned at great speed, almost to the point where he was dodging the dust particles instead of bathing in them. Mei didn't like how Skye was obviously showing off his dust rolling skillz, and opted to ignore him

She curled into a small brown fluff, and began to Rest.

Unsure about Mei and her current plan, Skye takes to action. Hopping over, he uses his talons to slice at Mei's fAce from the air. Mei however, doesn't move. In fact, she rolls over for a moment, and then mumbles something incoherent. Her body glows a deep shade of blue, and Skye is suddenly subject to a torrent of Watery spheres crashing into her! The heck kinda mystic Sleeping Talk was that?!?!

Still within the trance, Mei doesn't seem responsive at all. Skye approves, and sits down, relaxing his body. He also takes the time to scrutinize his dilemma. Mei fidgts in place, but is unable to re-Rest while already in a trance, so she just stays put. She possibly is also out of energy..

Kalah absently bit her lip - this was not good. Her blunderings was costing Mei and she knew it. "Mei, just relax! If you gain enough energy and that bird tries to attack or hit you, use Quick Attack!" She fidgeted absently, wondering what was about to happen next.

This unfeeling Eevee! Skye chirped his disdain at the zombieevee, before flapping his tired wings in front of him. A thick current of Air would Slash by Mei, rolling her on her back. She moved her feet like a motorized pup, but nothing more.

That last slash though, made Mei twitch. Skye hopped over, ready to put some more hurt on the stunted Eevee. A shrill Supersonic rang in Mei's ears, rubbing against her temples until those eyes cleared out of their "painters" state. Back in the heat of things, Mei quickly shot a paw forward, Quickly jabbing Skye in the face.

Feeling much better, and able to compete for a little while longer, Mei rolled over and bounced on her feet. Before Skye could call upon those Swift stars, he was japped again by the furry paw of Mei! Irate by the constant picking on, the stars fell from the heavens. Mei felt them slice by her body, leaving deep marks!

I'm kind of confused with the stats. Mei must gained energy instead of lost it, although the post doesn't make it clear. But I should go ahead with my next commands.

"Crap!" I exclaimed in frustration.

"Taillow!" Skye squawked, feeling the same. He snapped at a nearby brown bug, snatching away one of its wings.

I took a deep breath and calmed down. "Skye, it's time to take another breather. Find someplace hard to reach and Relax as much as you can. If Mei tries to get to you, use Rage."

The onlookers of the battle were now few and far between, and the cookie man was moving his way long the Wall. That means more space for the grounded bird. He took one look at that Eevee, watching it Whip its tail around it an adorable manner, before settling over in a spotand relaxing.

Kalah motioned to one of the common peddlars and bought some sweet potato chips and promptly sat down on one of the stairs leading up to a higher level of the Great Wall. Munching on them, she waited until finally Mei got up and stretched- done with her little relaxation time. Grinning, Kalah swiftly stood up as well. "I hope you're feeling a bit better Mei! Now, let's continue this a little bit longer and just continue soaking up that sun and Relax some more. If Skye goes to attack you, then punish him well with Iron Tail! Continue to Relax until the end, where for good measure use Swift!"
