My first post in VG probably...
I posted this about half a year ago on BMG and FFShrine when I first recorded this, mainly cause I didn't think I'd get any replies here, but that was probably a stupid assumption.
So as some of you know I've been playing piano for a while, and I've had this addiction to VG music lately, especially Uematsu, and my repertoire in terms of that stuff has gotten pretty big, but here I thought I'd share some of the ones I did. Just a couple things:
I KNOW the quality SUCKS, all I had was a mic back when I recorded these. It was on a yamaha clavinova and I couldn't quite figure out how to attach it to the computer or be bothered to try. So yeah... try to focus on the quality of the playing rather than of the background recording, there is some fuzz. Harsh criticism is welcome, but try to ignore the quality and focus on the playing.
I did just get a keyboard not long ago and I plan on redoing some of these.
Here are some:
The Castle (FFVIII) - http://www.filefactory.com/file/4bf8...stle_-_Zak_mp3
One Winged Angel (FFVII) - http://www.filefactory.com/file/4bf8fb/n/owa_-_Zak_mp3
Residents (FFVIII) - http://www.filefactory.com/file/7a40...ents_-_Zak_mp3 (one of my favorite most underrated tracks ever, I'm probably the only one that's bothered doing it on piano, couldn't even find someone with it on youtube)
Silence Before the Storm (FFX) - http://www.filefactory.com/file/4bf95a/n/silencezak_mp3
Terra's Theme (FFVI) - http://www.filefactory.com/file/58d7...erra_-_Zak_mp3
The Extreme (FFVIII) - http://www.filefactory.com/file/4bfa..._extreme_2_mp3 (this was my first recording)
Truth (FFVIII) - http://www.filefactory.com/file/4bfa...ruth_-_Zak_mp3
Vivi's Theme (FFIX) - http://www.filefactory.com/file/4bfab2/n/vivi_-_zak_mp3
Hopeless Desire (FFX) - http://www.filefactory.com/file/4bf6...-_hopeless_mp3
Seeking Power (FFXII) - http://www.filefactory.com/file/4bf8..._-_Seeking_mp3
That's all I have recorded... but that's not even close to my whole FF repertoire, probably consists of 150 songs at a rough estimate. I could post a list, but feel free to post requests, INCLUDING re-doing some of these. These were recorded half a year ago before I got my keyboard so the quality of the sound as well as the playing might be better. But if you request anything I'll most likely have it. Unless it's before VI. Most of what I know consists of a lot of stuff from VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XII, and even some X-2 (plus Clash on the Big Bridge from V), also a little Kingdom Hearts and stuff from like, a couple other games that barely anyone's heard of. I can post my long list later, but if it's FF-related and in that range, I'll most likely know it.
Enjoy, comment, criticize, etc.

CHOMP~
Oooh Final Fantasy piano! I want to listen, Zak, but I have no idea how to work that site.
If the files are fairly small, box.net does a free upload service where you can just choose to listen to the files. Either that, or tell silly me what to doooo.
Also: I WANNA HEAR CLASH ON THE BIG BRIDGE!! I love that song. XD And if you have The Sochen Cave Palace from FFXII I'd be interested in that too. Hell, anything! I <3 FF music. XD
this is hell
we have a little something called integrity
Weasel Overlord says:
spanner cock?
I do indeed have Sochen, I'll record that soon. Love that one. Same with Big Bridge.
From XII, as far as I remember, I know:
Theme of the Empire
Naivety
To the Place of the Gods (MY favorite)
The Beginning of an End
Rabanastre
The Forgotten Capital
Secret Practice
The Sochen Cave Palace.
Okay... guess I'll fix them links...

Alright, re-uploaded them all to filefactory. Try now.

I listened to only one song (You all know which one it was.); the notes were a bit badly timed, out of tune, or just missing outright in many areas.
Still, you gave it a lot of layers, and even if you hadn't, a four and a half minute song is nothing easy to learn. Very well done, especially if you were new to the piano when you made this stuff (You said you'd been playing for 'awhile' - whether that means months or years, I dunno.). I give it an 8/10.

[off-topic]I have been quoted four times in this thread already[/off-topic]
All right, I listened to The Extreme (because I love it and it was your first recording), Residents (because you said it isn't popular, I didn't quite remember which piece it was) and One Winged Angel (because I love it) and I enjoyed them. I have gone through some of Uematsu's pieces with my music therapist and he can tell you they're complicated.
Speaking of Final Fantasy music, I can't even play the victory fanfare, I tried to learn it once, but don't remember how it went anymore. I have also done my own lyrics to J-E-N-O-V-A, Maybe I'm A Lion and The Extreme.
Anyways, keep it up!
Got them both.
By the way this is finals week so I won't be able to add more till the weekend, and then I'm going to Israel on Tuesday for three weeks... I'll get as many as I can in in that time chunk.

I'd assume it was One Winged Angel, because that is the one all you FF-fags scream about all the time like it was the best music in any game ever.
I listened to OWA and Terra's Theme. Pretty good. I'd imagine OWA is pretty hard to do well.

^You see?! YOU SEE!?!?!
Cryptic my ass...
1. He's not everyone.
2. It's just a guess.
People tend to spooge all over Terra's Theme, so it could have been that as well. The Extreme is also quite a popular title. I would have assumed any of those three to be correct. Oh, wait, the Castle was actually an Uematsu homage to Bach. So, that's also a possibility.
As for what Heald said about "FF-fags", it sorta helped prove/state my suspicion. As much as I enjoyed playing FFVII, little fanboy/fangirls who talk about it like its the greatest game ever, or "OMG one winged angle is teh best song ever", or are an emo Cloud-obsessed fan, or go with the whole equating Sephiroth to Jesus thing when there are other big things that other characters from other games could be referencing, annoys the hell outa me. I figured you were assuming that was all of us by saying we all know. To me, OWA is merely average.

I don't remember the title... but I'd like to request the theme for FF6. It's basically the beginning song they played in the opening scene. I can only find midis of it and I want better!!

Video Games, Life, and the Random Objects You Trip Over
Isn't that Terra's Theme? Or at least, the same core tune?
Well I'll get on it. I just found out today cause of a stupid snowstorm I'll be stuck here and have even less time at home before I fly out. I'll try to get one in.
