Round 2
As the Tundra is re littered with snow, and the eliminated moved over to the front row of seats designated for them, we move on to our second round! By the scores received, it is shown that MeLoveGhosts starts things off again!
#1) MeLoVeGhOsTs & Yaichi (F)
Substitute~Ice Beam~Rollout
The Snorunt toddles back onto the field, still shivering under its blanket. Grasping the snow with its petite hands, the little guy quickly molds a snow Subsitiute of itself for the audience to see. Backing away a foot or so, she then fires a Ice Beam directly at the lower back of the statue. Engulfed for a split second, the stature survives the beam, but is now completly ice. Finally, Yaichi tumbles, and continues to roll, zooming over a snow dune and making a sharp left, before heading back to the Substitute and smashing it through. However, she dosen't stop and keeps rolling into another dune. That stopped her. A healthy round of applause concludes this appeal.
#2) Blademaster & Dry Bones (M)
Bonemerang~Aerial Ace~Earthquake
Yaichi quickly runs off, and the small ice shards are swept away. Out comes Dry Bones, who quickly starts by flinging the Bone Club vertically. As it rotates in the air and reaches its apex, Bones crouches, before shooting up into the sky to reclaim it. Grabbing it with one hand, he rotates with the blade, before delivering a heavy overhead strike that forces both back down to the planet, completly obliterating a snow dune-and causing a tremor to rip through the arena. The stands shake and the audience seems nervous, but they settle down, to a nice round of applause.
#3) Mew Master & Primi (M)
Double Team~Avalanche~Roar
The snow dune is quickly rebuilt and we kinda refill the split earth. Not too long after, Primi takes the stage. Instantaneously, there are 4 Mamoswine, each seemingly grazing on the tundra. Suddenly a rumbling comes from behind the Mamoswine herd-as a huge Avalanche of snow comes tumbling down. They all feign to run, but all are slammed by the onslaught. The Avalanche slows and stops before it reaches the stands, but there is silence. Suddenly, Primi bursts out of the top of the fallen slow, and belts out a huge mournful Roar. Some people clap, but I think a baby is crying...
#4) Dragonis & Tsunami (F)
Aqua Tail~Ice Beam~Dragon Rush
After removing the excess snow, Tsunami takes center spotlight. Under the trainers command, the lengthy Pokemon swings her tailabout, watching it build up a watery layer around it. With no conviction, she slams her Tail into a dune-sending snow flurries and water droplets in the air. As they twinkle, a beam of condensed Ice rips through the upheaved water, turning it from liquid to solid. The result was half of the frozen arc of the explosion of the dune. This right half was demolished as Tsunami ripped through the heart of the open sculpture with a Rush of energy, sending ice..everywhere to the right. The ice shards twinkle in the sunlight, and the crowd applauds.
~Scores~
#1) Score: 8.4/10
Starting appeals seem to be your forte. This was solid-and the little bit at the end only helped to make it seem like Yaichi was just a child playing in the snow.
#2) Score: 8.9/10
The anime strategy worked again this round. Nice flashy start, but I was slightly put off by the Earthquake. It added a sense of power to the whole appeal though. The crowd loved it as well, so that has to say something.
#3) Score: 8.0/10
The loss of a herd. It seemed very believable, but the crowd may have been feeling a bit too pumped from all the exciting appeals. The choice of moves were very well thought out, and played together nicely in this setting.
#4) Score: 8.2/10
A very scattered appeal. It seemed that you were going for a full out ice explosion at the end, but Tsunami made do with what she could. The dapple effect with the flying ice was nice, but only one side of the stands got the full effect.
End Notes
After this second round, I am proud to say that MeLoVeGhOsTs and Blademaster will be moving on to the final round of the Contest! It's a 4 round battle, so be sure to bring your best to the table here! Blade, you'll go first.
