Surf all washed up?

Surf hits both oppenents, so it accually be better than Hydro Pump (I never use this move, it sucks). For Hydro Pump you woould be clobbered by attacks for the other foe. Hydro Pump has horrible accuracy and with Pressure, Hydro Pump can only be used 3 times. Waterfall activates psysical contact abilities, so it's not that good. It's weak. Surf rules over Hydro Pump.

Edit:About not hitting you ally, I think the one using Surf gets in front of their ally, therefore not hitting the ally. Also, the farther the target is from the start of the wave, the more powerful the wave is.

yeah you dont know what your talking about... -_- dealing less dmg to 2 people isnt always better than alot to one in fact i dont think it is hydro pump would get off 120bp on someone, while surf would get off 47.5... theres a huge difference, say you hit 2 people w/high s.d. w/surf for example (scenario) and they both heal it over with leftovers... now say you do hydro pump and deal a decent amount of dmg to one... i think that would be the simplest way to explain the scenario IMO

edit: also doing a considerable amount of dmg is always better than doing less obviously but hydro pump has a bit less accuracy... meh its hard to explain if anyone can explain it better please do... sorry if that was a crappy scenaio i re-read it and wasnt suprised but in my head i could explain it to myself over and over, anyways... say you do surf and deal 40% dmg but w/hydro pump you do 55%... it would take 2 hits to kill someone and have them on the run, now say you do 20% to each, they heal considerabley to your dmg w/leftovers and it would take like a ton of hits to surf them both to death, now say you miss with hydro pump very often, it would probably take 3-4 hits to kill one, 2 luckily... is that explained any better?

I wouldn't count on so many pokemon holding Leftovers now, it seems to be that a lot of other items are being used on pokemon. Besides, playing with item clause is much more fun.

oh... I always thoght of surf being like a huge wave of water crashing down on the enemy. but if the user just produces a wave, rides it, and then slaps the enemy...

Surf is a huge wave that crashes down on the enemy. It just that the pokemon using it rides it until it crashes down on the enemy.
