I'm here I'm here!
Tundra Contest
Welcome to the first ASB Contest of the yer. I'm your high speed low food intake ref, DL, ready to help you all see just how well your Pokemon can perform! Without any further ado, let's get this show on the road.
#1: MeLoVeGhOsTs and Yaichi (f)
Waterpulse~Ice Beam~Blizzard
The diminutive Pokemon takes center stage, warming everyone's hearts a lil as it seems to shiver in place upon the bleak landscape. In rapid fashion, a perfect set of three Waterrings were pulsed skyward. As they rose, Yaichi quickly formed an Ice Beam to fire, and shot the beam straight through the center of the pulses, before colliding with the top ring. The momentum forced the other rings to fly into the beam, freezing as well. As the rings began to seperate and fall, the Snorunt forces them back up with a mediocre Blizzard attack. It was enough to make the rings hover within the vertical ice storm, to everyones approval.
#2: Crazy Elf Boy & Haku (M)
Double Team~Hyper Beam~Blizzard
Removing the larger Blizzard shards away, out comes Haku, a Glaile! Who would've guessed. It floats in place for a moment, before shimmering, creating 4 more copies of itself. The clones encircle Haku, before settling equidistant from one another, in X formation. Haku begins to charge up an immensly powerful attack, so much that his clones begin to fade away. The HyperBeam is released, and the clones mimic the action, sending 4 paler beams skyward, as the real one comes up from the center. Using his last energy, Haku creates a Blizzard to rain over the area, sweeping over his clones and himself as fast as possible, before backing away from the frozen scene he created. The clones are gone, and all that is left is very large pyramid of ice. Still impressive.
#3: Chris 2.1 and Bella (F)
Fire Spin~Swift~Solarbeam
Dragging the ice Pyramid away, a Houdoom voraciously runs onto the field. She sparks up, before raising her head. Fires surge from the ground and revolve around her-however they are not very high. They don't wait long however, as Swift stars shoot up and out from the Fire spin. They alight themselves, dissipating into the sky with bright twinkles. Finally, a bright flash of light could be seen building from Bella, before a very powerful Solarbeam rockets out its epicenter, quelling the flames immediatly. The melted snow and vapor in the air at the base of the Spin reflects with the Solarbeam creating a very strong prismatic effect around Bella. People however shield their eyes, the massive light blast was unexpected.
#4: Dragonis and Tsunami (F)
Dragon Dance~Haze~Draco Meteor
Mopping the water away..and bang. Here comes Tsunami a new Dragonite. She flies in above, everyone watching with wonder. Her flight seems erratic, and she dips low toward the crowd a few times while gyrating eerily, as if she's slightly possesed? It seems to pass, as a haze builds up in the sky, removing the sun. The silence lingers for a moment, until a massive string of meteros rupture the ererily quiet plateau, slamming with force into the ground. Snow and dirt fly all about, some snow reaching the stands. The sun began to poke back in, illuminating the crater.
Intermission. Audience can stretch as we refill the crater...Ima get me some hot juice....and...we're back. Thanks Dugtrio
.
#5: Weasel Overlord and Shrewd (M)
Power Gem~Shadow Sneak~Zen Headbutt
Alright. Field renewed, Shrewd makes his appearance. He knlles in the snow, before throwing his hands out, and a thick coalescence of ice shards and snow quick meld together, creating a Gem not too far away. It imbeds at the crest of a snow dune, giving him the height he needs. To cover that distance, he begins to run, only to stealthily evaporate into the elongated shadow of the Gem. Reappearing directly next to it, his head glowing with an foreboding eminence, Shrewd collides directly with the Gem, shattering most of it into pieces. The pieces land all around him and reflect the light brilliantly, although his head is in the dune now.
#6: Mew Master and Primi (F)
Mist~Double Team~Take Down
As the Gem pieces are wiped away, our largest land competitor so far enters. Primi stays near the rear of the arena however, compelling the audience to lean forth. A Mist rolls out from the edges, slightly obscuring their vision of her. Then, through the fog, people being to point, as they see a heard of the ancient Mamoswine charge through the mist, in V formation. The lead Primi takes Down a dune as she runs through the middle of the arena. She however, finds it hard to slow down, and skids a little, but is able to come to a sliding stop, her clonse doing the same.
#7: Asilynne and Redemption (M)
The Mist rolls away, and a Volbeat takes center stage. The audience leans forward again to watch the small bug as it begins to take flight, spinning in midair and revolving around its blinking rear light. The audience as a whole seemed captivated buy it-if only slightly. That light however, suddenly expanded into a vicious seriesFlash, which was a tad strong on the reflective snow. He pulled off a pattern well enough, but even he seemed a bit dazed at all the blight relfective Flashes. To end, he ended his spinning and hovered. Slow wingbeats pumped off excess flakes of energy that quickly beamed in the air, enhancing his wingbeats and the light show to a more tolerable level.
#8: Blademaster and Dry Bones (M)
Iron Defense~Bone Club~Flamethrower
Our final coOrdinator and his Pokemon appear. Dry Bones takes center stage and raises his "sword" in the air. He stands as still as a statue, attaining a glossy hue for a few moments, to the wonder of the audience. Then, he brings his club back, and runs forward. Right hand glowing, he lunges, swinging the club back and over his head with one hand while firing a Flamethrower from his open left palm. The fire shoots right through a dune before the bone club hits-evaporating it, and causing the surrounding fine snow to blast outward omnidirectionally.
~~Scores~~
#1) Score: 8.1/10
Very simple appeal, freeze things and make them hover. Could have been a bit more to it to dazzle the crowd-however a solid showcase of abilities.
#2) Score: 6.9/10
While I understand the commands given, execution was crucial here, and the clones weren't able to withstand two heavy attacks in a row. The end product was still nice to see.
#3) Score: 7.6/10
Very nice buildup, attracting the eyes away from the fire with the stars flying everywhere. The fire however, wasn't as power as it could have been on the frozen earth and snow. The massive beam to showcase raw power within a bleak landscape was nice, but its reflective quality hurt.
#4) Score: 8.8/10
That was in a completely different vein. It was a very strong way of showing how desolate and scary a ice plain can be, and yet how the plain still survives and changes its scars into beauty. The beginning though was a bit odd, wasn't sure if Tsunami was able to fly..
#5) Score: 8.0/10
The end pulled this one together. A hard setup, but a brilliant, flashy end. However, slightly contradictory in the sense of being sneaky and then ending brightly. The speed of Shadow Sneak detracted from the final move working as well as it could have.
#6) Score: 8.6/10
Nice solid show of power, and to appeal to the concept of ancient things still living in the hidden icy lands. Very moving. I believed I was watching a herd.
#7) Score: 7.5/10
It was nice, using the snow to reflect light, but the glare was strong, and it was directed at the audience. The end was nice, the Silver Winds composition help to refract light much better.
#8) Score: 8.4/10
A solid appeal. NothIng really made it stand out, aside from the destruction of a snow dune. Still, nothing about it made it bad either.
End Notes
