Asi grinned as she looked at the Whismur. For some reason she never liked that pokemon, probably because it was always crying (no offense MLG XD). She looked at her female penguin with a smile. "Ok Snowshine I just got you for christmas so lets see what you can do!" Snowshire nodded with a pleased face and got ready to battle. "Lets hit that crybaby with a Focus Punch and finish with a Counter. Give it a reason to cry!"

The arena is the fiery path from RSE. You know where there's lava, rocks, Slugma, Torkoal, Koffing, etc. There is also a hidden room by removing a rock (like Strenght in the games).

Pre-Battle

The Fiery Path. Hot, muggy, and the only reason any trainer would come down here would be for the pokemon, or if they had to pass through. Two trainers however, thought it would also be a good place to battle. MeLoVeGhOsTs and Asilynne. A third figure was there as well. Perched on a rock was Ben, the pokemon fortune teller.
“Alright, I want a good, clean fight out of both of you, understand?”
Both trainers nodded, releasing their pokemon. MLG chose Zanji, a Whismur, while Asi chose Snowshine, a Delibird, certainly an interesting choice considering the environment.
“Begin!”

Battle

Asi clearly has something against Whismur as she ordered her Delibird to heavily exploit its weakness to fighting. Getting into an almost karate-esque fighting stance, the delivery pokemon closed her eyes and began to concentrate. One could almost see the energy forming around her fist, I mean flipper.

However, it seemed that Snowshine had expected the Whimsur to do nothing but sit there, because she was surprised when the small pink pokemon suddenly spit a glob of purple goo right in her face! She quickly shook her head, shaking the goo off before she completely lost her focus.

Zanji seemed to catch on quickly that his opponent didn’t care for his little toxic loogy, and wasn’t liking how her fist was now glowing and shaking. Giving a small squeek, he began to concentrate and suddenly three more Whismurs appeared. Just in time too as Snowshine’s eyes shot open and the penguin dived towards one of them, her first ready to strike…

CRUNCH!

The whismur let out a loud scream of pain (forcing everyone to cover their ears) as the hit connected, causing the other three copies to disappear. The small pink pokemon bounced and slid across the rocky ground, while the Delibird grinned at her successful strike.

Zanji whimpered as he slowly climbed to his feet, his side still throbbing from the punch and tears welling up in his eyes. Snowshine, still confident from her last attack, prepared herself for any form of retaliation.

The whismur retaliated alright, by crying really REALLY loudly!

Hands covered ears again as the wave hit the Delibird full force. While their didn’t seem to be any damage, Snowshine did look like she just had an anvil dropped on her by the way she was dazily stumbling around.

And as the round ends, we have a Whismur with a bruised cheek and a confused Delibird. So confused she didn’t feel the pain as the poison from Zanji’s toxic loogy burned her.

Asi tugged at her collar as she watched the next moves the crybaby pokemon was doing. "Shit....he wants it eve hotter?! Thats so going to frizz up my hair...Ok Snowshine, we didnt start the fire, so lets put it out with a nice Rain Dance! Then when everythings nice and drenched hit him with a Water Pulse and finish with a Brick Break! And if you ever miss doing a move because your too confused, always start with Rain dance and go from there!

Pre-Battle

Things were barely started and already things had heated up. Zanji the Whismur had taken a bone crunching punch to the face and Snowshine the Delibird was poisoned and confused. Not a good day to be her. A number of the local pokemon, geodude, slugma, koffing, etc, had already come to see what was going on and were now watching the battle. Asi and MLG were squaring eachother off, Mystic sitting on his rock, ready to intervene if needed.

Battle

It would seem that MLG and Zanji thought this place wasn’t quite hot enough. The small pink pokemon began to concentrate as the temperature in the place began to pick up, resulting in a rather unpleased groan from both Asi and Mystic. Asi figured that this place needed to cool down instead and ordered for a Rain Dance. Unfortunately, her poor Delibird was still dazed from her confusion and ended up spinning around and falling onto her butt. It seemed like this place was staying uncomfortably hot.

Zanji [ 3E]

Feeling a little more confident now, Zanji’s fist began to shake as small flames began to form around it. Meanwhile, things weren’t looking good for Snowshine as she continued to stumble around, Asi shouting her orders to her almost desperately. With his first firmly flaming and ready, Zanji squealed and dove towards the Delibird.

Only to suddenly find the temperature drop and a good deal of water come down on him. Delibird had actually snapped out of her confusion and her ‘stumbling’ was actual her Rain Dance. The Fire Punch still connected, but significantly weaker than both Zanji and MLG had hoped.

Snowshine [12HP 3E]

Water was coming down, which everyone found odd since they’re underground, but it still a good thing for Snowshine at least. Despite the now wet environment, Zanji was still going with his fire based attack plan and a great deal of heat began to form in his mouth. Snowshine took in a deep breath as well.

They both attacked at the same time. A Flamethrower from Zanji and a Water Pulse from Snowshine. The two attacks collided in mid air, resulting in scolding steam. Unfortunately for Zanji, Snowshine’s attack was still stronger, hitting him, but at a weaker strength. However, Zanji looked a little dazed after the hit.

As the match closes, water is coming from the ceiling, forcing the rock and fire pokemon watching into hiding and resulting in a very wet judge. Snowshine winced as the poison burned her veins, but otherwise looked ready to continue. Zanji on the other hand looked a little dazed.

Asi sniffled as she pulled out an umbrella from her briefcase. Though the rain helped cool her down, the abrupt change from hot to cool was beginning to take its toll on her immune system. After this match she resolved to bundle up in a pile of blankets and sleep for a week. "Ok Snowshine *sniff* um...how about using Brick Break then follow it up with *ACHOO*--" Asi paused to blow her nose on a tissue. "...ug...Gunk Shot, no pun intended..." Snowshine put a flipper over her face and the unintentional but still stupid joke. "...*sniffle* anyway...finish it up with another Water Pulse, maybe his pokemon will catch a cold too."

Pre-Battle

After a heated beginning, this match is starting to cool down, literally. As rain fell from the ceiling, the spectating pokemon decided to make a dash for cover, leading the judge and the two trainers out in the cold. Well, Asi had an umbrella and Mystic’s hood provided ample protection, so technically it was just MLG out in the cold. Poor guy. Regardless, there was still a battle to be had, and had it shall be!

Battle

Despite the cold and the poison, Snowshine balled her flipper into a makeshift fist and flew towards the small pink puff, determined to lay on the hurt. Even in his confusion, the Whismur was well away he should be fearing the mad penguin charging at him. With a squeak of fear, he let out a billowing cloud of black smoke, obscuring the field before attempting to dive for the side. At that moment, the Delibird swung, managing to catch the small whimpering pokemon in the arm. Not the full body blow she was hoping for, but still not bad. Unfortunately, the blow sent Zanji spiralling into the darkness, and out of sight.

Snowshine looked around, trying to spot the small, pink wimp in the darkness. Meanwhile, Zanji could see her perfectly. Deciding to make her pay for the pain she put him through, he began concentrating on his fist, conjuring up a small hint of flame around it. Eyes locked on her, he took a step forward.

And tripped.

The flames on his fist licked at him a bit before fading, causing a soft whimper from the small pokemon. However, in hindsight, This was probably a good thing. Without the tell-tale flame pointing out his location Snowshine still had no idea where the Whismur was. Deciding to take a chance, she coughed up a rather nasty loogy and launched it into the darkness, hoping to get lucky.

The shot did manage to hit something. Unfortunately, that something happened to be the REF.

As he wiped the gunk from his face, Mystic made a mental note to have a little chat with Asi after this match.

Ok, so the firepunch didn’t go as planned. But that wasn’t going to stop this determined little guy. He could still see Snowshine and now he was going to let her have it. Taking a deep breath, the whismur let out a glass shattering blast of sonic energy. Even those out of range were covering their ears. Poor Delibird…

With the blast of sound finally dying down, Snowshine, her ears still ringing, noticed that blast had blown some of the smoke away, allowing her to barely see her opponent in the mist. She was going to make the pink little puff pay. Taking in a deep gulp, she let out a pulse of water directly at the whismur, hitting her mark no problem. The small puff squealed as he bounced along the ground. On the plus side, the soaking did knock away his confusion.

"Well, there are some things we can do to try and stop it. Pull some makeup and perfume out of your tail and try to Attract him. Then hit him with a Toxic and finish with a Avalanche. That oughta put the thorns on this rose!"

It’s still pouring, and there’s still smoke in this water-logged tunnel. This match has just been a slug-fest between the penguin and the pink puff. So far, it seems that Snowshine’s just in the lead, though at this point, anything can happen.

Battle

Though the smoke is obscuring their vision, it’s not messing with their hearing. Zanji heard his orders loud and clear and charged up a great deal of electricity at his enemy. It would seem that Snowshine could act as a lightning rod as the electricity shot straight at her, causing a loud screech of pain.

As Zanji peered through the smoke to admire his handy work, he was surprised to see a whimpering Delibird with makeup running down her face, apparently part way through applying it before being shocked. Despite the fact that she was his enemy, the sight was enough to melt the heart of anyone, including her opponent.

I get the feeling this romance wont end well.

Zanji tried to remember his master’s orders, but couldn’t seem to take his eyes off of his new object of affection. This small pink pokemon was pretty sure this was love.

While the small pink pokemon was standing there love struck, Snowshine took the chance to spit up a glob of purple muck at the little Whismur. Though the way he was acting, she might as well have kissed him. People are strange when in love.

Zanji then finally remembered his master’s orders and gave a soft whimper. He didn’t want to hurt the pokemon he was now in love with, but he couldn’t simply loose the battle as well. Finally, closing his eyes, he brought his fist back and swung hard, striking Snowshine in the face and causing her world to spin.

Snowshine was stumbling around, while Zanji was trying to apologise for smacking her. However, neither seemed to notice the ground was shaking. Suddenly in a moment that seemed to defy all logic, an avalanche of snow rushed down the tunnel, almost burying everyone under it. Thankfully, the trainers and ref were quick to get out of the way, and Snowshine managed to stumble to the side.

Zanji clamoured out of the snow, with Snowshine still stumbling around in her confusion. Almost at the same time however, both pokemon winced as the poison began to burn their veins. A poison of LOVE
