Left 4 Dead Thread (And other Valve games)

So, after playing Left 4 Dead last night with Heald (and having a great time with him aswell, except for that one douche who kept stealing our weapons) I realized that we needed a thread to discuss this amazing game. And I figured while were at it, we could discuss other Valve games (CS, DoD, Team Fortress 2, etc...)

So, who has L4D, and what do you think about it? And for what console? I have it for 360 and PC and i know that Heald has it for PC. If anyone on TPM has it for PC they should post in here and we could have a TPM Left 4 Dead Event. Maybe if there is enough people, we could even have a versus match :O

I've got the game for the 360. Only spent about 3 hours or so with it, but I am loving it so far.

Honestly, that match was hilarious, even though I kept dying because the stupid thing kept respawning me over the ledges lol.

My brother has L4D for the 360 but I haven't tried it out yet. Zombies are one of my semi-irrational fears, like getting my wrists slit and bleeding to death.

However, I do have TF2 for PC. My playtime has fallen since school got busier, but I still manage to get on at least once a week. I'd like to play with y'all. Handles?

Not Left 4 Dead related, but it is steam related. There is a 5 indie game pack on sale for only $10 until Monday. It includes Eets, Gravitron 2, Multiwinia, I-Fluid, and Trails: Second Edition.

Dammit, Steam is the biggest drain on my wallet ever. Every week end they dangle something shiny in front of my face with some kind of ridiculous offer and I just have to buy it.

EDIT On Valve-related news, the Scout Update could be coming out next week, or at least very soon. Two of the weapon upgrades have been revealed (Sandman replacing the Bat and Energy Drink replacing the Pistol). Also, in their achievements, they list the Force-A-Nature as a new weapon, and I can extrapolate from the descriptions that the Force-A-Nature is a replacement for the Scattergun that has some serious knock-back. I assume the downside to this is either lower damage, lower rate of fire or less scatter range or less range in general, but it hasn't been revealed yet. Also, it is rumoured that the Force-A-Nature will allow Scouts to fire against the ground to gain some height, much like Rocket Jumping.

The Scout is my favourite class and I'm really good with him. I'm somewhat annoyed that the Scout loses his double-jump with the Sandman, since this severely reduces his usefulness by some way, but hopefully the weapon itself is worth the sacrifice in mobility.

Also, since we're talking about other Valve games, shall we re-name this thread just a general Valve thread?

The PS3 has almost every good game the 360 has.

They've finally released the schematics of the Force-A-Nature, and it looks like I called it more or less how it is. Slower rate of fire that can knock people back and can rocket jump.

The best medicine to curing a scout infection:

Pyro or demoman. Watching them aimlessly run into my fire and bombs makes me happy

Once, we beat the other team on Mercy Hospital by well over 1000 points, they decided they didn't want to bother trying to get to the helicopter and all quit XP Good times...

Also, there was the time where I shot Mattie in the back in the safehouse and killed him, cos it was one of the first times I'd played and hit the wrong trigger >_>; I ran around avoiding him for the rest of the game, not realising that he was idle at the time, so had no idea I'd done it >_>

I'd get it for PC, but there's no way my laptop would run it D:

Portal is an amazing game. I beat it on the 360, I could never get around to beating those advanced maps... So difficult.

Oh yeah, and if your creating a L4D RPG, i'd be more then happy to join/help you with the plot if needed.

And also, me and my cousin found something awesome to do (PC only). Create a friends only game and have both of you join, and then have the host turn on cheats. The host then noclips and turns off the director, and acts as the director himself. My cousin was spawning mobs of around 1000 to come and rush at me and my bots, so it was rather difficult... Not to mention i died when I opened the safehouse door and found three Tanks waiting for me >.<

I was up playing L4D for 6 hours until 4am two days ago with my main hall's desktop. The game's graphics are fantastic and not to talk about the sound effect. I had the witch's cry as my ringtone. And when it does ring in the middle of the night, it spooks a couple of my friends off. ^.^

Oh and by the way, you should have know that you got always forget about playing with the Steam system online. I played the PC version using Garena. The players there are rumour to be better but from the way I look at it, there is no difference since I got pwned by the hunters or the smokers most of the time.

The only time I pwned the rest is when I become the tanker. *evil grin*

Steam's latest bargain is World of Goo: 75% off. This will probably be about $6 for you yanks. It's worth a try, especially at that price.

I have been at Uni, using my laptop which frankly does not have the specs to handle the awesomeness that is L4D. However, I am back home for 3 weeks, so I hope to fit in as much zombie killing as possible.
