It depends on whether or not they previously had an owner (in other words, if they were previously released), if they never had an owner before, then yes, you can get a free TM for them, however, if they did have a previous owner, then no, they don't get a free TM.

The free TM can be a TM, HM, or Move Tutor move from any of the games, so hope that helps.

It would also be of help to read the FAQ, it's got all the information you need.

Just one more detail, although it's probably obvious: in order to get a TM they must be able to use TMs. Magikarp/Caterpie/Unown/etc. can't get them.

Roses are Red gets the Slowpoke.

The Skarmory on the list has already been adopted, but Thorne_Darkrose gets a level 5 Skarmory due to the promotion.

We need to get things running smoothly again, so I'm going to replace the old promotion by a more permanent one: every newcommer to the game can get a level 5 pokemon of his/her choice*. And of course, everyone can still get the pokemon on the list.

*That is, non-legendary, not evolved** and not Dratini.
**Pokemon that have a baby form but may still be born in their 1st evolution stage are allowed (this means you can still get Pikachu, Marill, Mantine, Snorlax, etc.).

I'm going to post an update now.

Roses are Red: Dagon is level 10, so he can get 2 TMs, or a TM and a breed-only move (and when I say TM I mean a compatible TM/HM/Move tutor from RBY/GSC/RSE/FrLg/DP).

And you can get the Gastly too, with 1 TM or bred-on move.

Alright, well I guess if I wanna restart in this, I might as well get myself someone to help me along... so I will be taking Magby lv 6 (m), Flame Body being it's Ability and it's Bred on Move I'm still debating about... the Thunderpunch tm (from the reward centre), can I teach it to Magby or can I only use it as its bred on move? let me know gabs

Hm. So I know what all of the pokemon I had were, thanks to having mentioned them all in my RBG that has been since chronicled on the Dragon Tamers site, but I don't remember their levels and TMs/egg moves. :-\ The only level I know is that Winter, my white Houndour, is level 6, and I'm sure I can figure out her TM or egg move from the battle, but other than that, there's a bit of a problem.
