    Default Resident Evil

If anyone here likes Resident Evil or has a question on any of the games feel free to ask me, as I am not only the Co-Owner of a resident evil roleplay site, but also have played all but maybe three of the games and beat them all, and own quite a bit of resident evil memoribelia.

I don't really have any questions to ask, but I do like this franchise!

P.S. - "Resident Evil 5" is coming out tomorrow. Just thought I'd mention that.

I received RE4 for Wii for Christmas over a year ago now. I managed to take the game out of the shrink wrap but it never actually made it into the console. Maybe soon.

I have a ton of Resident Evil stuff, including the novels, most of the games, and a few collectible figures. I loved it so much I became co-owner of a roleplay forum with a friend of mine and my gf lol. Its probably one of the biggest fandoms I have.

I loved RE since Re1 came out on the Saturn. I'm hugely disappointed in myself since I will not be playing RE5 for a while since I do NOT have a X360 and will hafta wait until I get one, stupid recession,

I'm looking forward to Resi 5, finally I can get myself another PS3 game. I've seen a review on TV yesterday that gave me some doubts though. I'm never playing in co-op mode and eventhough you can play it alone of course you always have that second character running with you. Reminds me a bit of Resi 0. Also, how come you play mostly in bright daylight ... shouldn't this be survival horror? Where's the horror in that. =(

Well survival horro can happen in daylight as well as night. RE4 was a perfect example. It was daylight for about half the game,. but it was undercast with clouds. And the other half you were in dark abandoned facilities trudging around god knows what.

But no matter what time of day, anyone coming at you with a chainsaw=scary >>

Well it was the same more or less with Resi 4, it wasn't one bit scary. Resi 1 to 3 were much better in that regard. I mean a chainsaw guy is cool but when you see him lumbering towards you from a mile away it's just not scary.

Well, I never did see them a mile away, I always saw them about a good 3 feet away, hauling ass to see how much of your neck they could chop off. -.-... Now the spikeball armor wearing guys, yes, they were pretty dumb and easy to dispatch of.

In any event Word around is that most people are tired of control system. I myself don't mind, but sometimes it would be helpful to be able to run and shoot-even walk and shoot would be great.

From what I've been reading is a lot of people are annoyed with the controls because RE isn't a horror game anymore. It's an action game. When the controls were first designed they were purposely made poorly because it adds to the fear of combat. Now that the fear is all but gone it's just annoying.

Well, I unwrapped Resi 5 yesterday night and started playing it. Don't get the story quite yet but the one hour I played reminded me of Resi 4 with worse controls. Graphics are good, the sound is particularly notable. The fact the game isn't pausing while you select your items and weapons is ridiculous though. Gotta love when designers mess around with well-working concepts.

They do that intentionally to keep players on their toes, I myself would love to play it but do not own a system I can play it on, so I am kinda stuck right now.
