Mikachu, it's dangerous to post your address publicly because then any criminal could see it and use that and other things he can learn about you from your posts to break into your house when you're away or fake a kidnapping. I don't mind giving my address to people I know and trust, but I wouldn't post it on a public page.

I posted a few months back saying I'd been offered some freelance work for the popular music magazine NME. Well today I got a call - they're impressed with my work, and they're sending me a contract in the post. They want me on their payroll!

Granted it's a freelance contract, but I essentially get a small living expense for what I'm already doing.

But if you trust someone, you can post it in a PM, right? There are ways to hack into the PM system but we are already taking some risks when becoming TPMers or Facebook members, too. But perhaps we shouldn't take such risks anymore. I tried to get some people to send their addresses via PM in a club but got nothing although a few people did reply, one reason could have been that I left TPM for a while back there. We could have some way to exchange the addresses, but if we don't trust on each other, then, no. OK.

I don't think a lot of people would see the point of exchanging addresses. Aside from the danger of telling someone you've never met where you live, there's also the point that most members would find PM, email and IM more than satisfactory to communicate with fellow forumers.

Neil Cicierega (potter puppet pals/ultimate showdown/animutations) posts his address online and holds a party for anyone ever the internet to attend every august. I've been to his house twice. I guess criminals aren't interested in him.

Yeah, I basically concur with everything you're saying in terms of the hectic nature of graduate school, Gabi. Pretty much the only thing on that list I haven't dealt with in some sense is the X-ray... although I was in a bus accident a few weeks ago that left me with a touch of whiplash. Bleh. Sorry to hear that you're dealing with the same stresses as I am, but it's all worthwhile in the end.

I'm revising the most random module ever. It's called Grammar, Language & Mind and is a real headfuck. Philosophy of Language, essentially.

Is meaning conveyed in the symbol, causing it to be mind-internal? Or is it based in the reception of speech, making it mind-external? Or could meaning actually be the process between mind-internal and mind-external?

I came to the final conclusion yesterday. And also:

Language does not contain a phonology. It is a phonology.

Anyway for anyone who does this linguistics this may look odd. Our senior professor is quite large in the linguistic community and is famous for demolishing popular theories. He even challenges Noam Chomsky, the 'Einstein' of Language.

Anyway I've applied for an internship in Sydney/Melbourne for June. Hope I get it

It would be cool to have something like an x-ray machine for food. So it could map out the food's composition, then send it across the world, and the machine on the other side would create said food item exactly. (You can tell I've been studying for too long... random thoughts...)

Perhaps I could tell you guys now what happened.

It all started in the Finnish conscription army, in 2004. I took it too seriously and practiced hard. I had many kinds of strange thoughts, for instance I thought World War III was going to start and stuff. I began to hear voices and see things especially while watching TV. My hallucinations included drawings I made, Pokemon lines in both Finnish and Japanese, something about Super Saiyans and incorrect subtitles in movies. Yeah, I was in a mental hospital for a total of 17 months if I count properly.

They decided to put me in Kuntoutuskoti in January 2006. Kuntoutuskoti is a house and a care of out-patients of Visala hospital and it felt awesome. I took an advantage of my hard-working attitude in housework and was able to return to TPM. However, I had to quit TPM for a while in spring because I got sleep problems. Then it began, my flood of buying things. I bought glasses, Playstation 3, a sofa, Nintendo Wii, a laptop, Playstation 2 and other products. I liked it. January 2007 was also my time to return to TPM.

Anyways, I was arranging a 'Reilun Kaupan' (Fair Shop or something) fair on a Thursday evening, the 14th of May. Had strange thoughts again. Partly because I wasn't sure about the work there. Like the screens I built would fall on somebody. So I tried to sleep one night and then went to the hospital. They were going to let me go on Monday last week, but I was in such a poor condition and had to get back on the same evening. I tried again this week, it succeeded, and it feels. Awesome.

Ooh, melodic metal. I'm liking the sound of it already! I'm looking forward to hearing it. I recorded my song with Audacity, and it was great to play around with the layering and stuff. I highly recommend it.

Audacity is heaps easy to use. We used Adobe Audition at uni to make radio news stories, and Soong uses ProTools to compose, but yeah there are heaps of awesome programs out there for free. Sounds like a good plan Mik!

Yeah I actually made some lyrics yesterday but they aren't ready for TPM. I'm planning a prebridge, a bridge and a chorus, and they are missing as well as the notes and some other stuff.
