Flash Fire...?

What exactly does Flash Fire do?
I heard that it makes Fire attacks x1.5 even after STAB & makes the pokemon immune to fire type attacks.
Then I heard that it makes it so that if a fire type attack hits you your attack goes up a level/ point.
Which is it?? Please help!! Thanks.

It's the first one, except you forgot the part where your pokemon needs to get hit by a fire attack in order for Flash Fire to take effect. A lot of people seem to keep forgetting that bit, even though it is very important.
