Lame idea, lamer Pokemon. Apparently this one is actually pretty useful, but it doesn't change how it's a giant pink COW. With moves like Milk Drink. Seriously, Game Freak... the hell? This one is a pain to fight in Whitney's gym, unless you have a decent Fighting-type in which case that entire gym is a laugh.

242 BLISSEY
This evoulution of Chansey looks much like a female social worker in my opinion. The anime episode with Blissey almost made me cry, but surprisingly enough, not in the bad way.

#243 Raikou

Not much to say about Raikou except for some interesting facts. Its name is just two letters off from another pokemon's name. Raikou appeared in its own anime special, which notably didn't include Ash and his friends. Cipher Admin Ein has one in Pokemon Colosseum. Also, Raikou is the first of the Legendary Beasts. Some call them the Legendary Dogs, but I prefer beasts since they don't really look like dogs to me.

Entei is a lame excuse for a fire type that was quite annoying to capture in the first Ranger game-his field effect made it a utter bitch to ensnare him with the styler. In any event, Entei sucks and I dun even know why the third movie had to be about it..

Quite possibly the most famous and popular of the GSC Legendary Beasts, in part because Crystal's added content is focused around him. Probably the strongest of the three as well, though he's part of an overloaded type group. Also, he's a lot better-looking than his brothers in the Legendary Beast trio.

In GSC, you can find this rigorous-looking creature in Mt. Silver plus Rocket Game Corner in Crystal. Its name is funny because '-tar' is used in Finnish language to express feminity e.g.

247 Pupitar

The awesome version of Metapod and evolution of Larvitar. This pokemon is the boring stage between awesomeness and OMGWTFIWILLKILLYOU greatness. It has a fairly decent move set and will pretty much own anything because of its amazing defense.

#248 Tyranitar

This beast of legend can only be found in the deepest of the wilderness, lurking in the shadows where no man enters willingly. It has no fear, and shows no mercy to any foe when in battle. Its territory is limitless, its ferocity unmatched in the Pokemon world. Being of the Rock and Dark Type shows not its true range, its berth of knowledge coupled with its unyielding instinct make it a true survivor of evolution.

THIS..is my favorite Pokemon. A beauty of a beast that showed me why I should and always will love Dark Types.

249 LUGIA

The cover model for Pokemon Silver, and one of the second-generation Legendary Birds. This one was at the heart of the second Pokemon movie, where the main villain sought to capture it for his collection. Getting it out of a Pokeball in SSB is kind of a disappointment compared to getting the others, sadly.

250 Ho-oh

The bad ass fire bird of the pokemon world, this also seems to be the first legendary pokemon Ash ever encountered on his journey. Ho-oh is the pokemon who roosted in the old Tin TOwer before it was destroyed. This pokemon has a fair amount of power and is normally caught with the Sacred Fire item which revives all pokemon in a party.

Hey I got one legendary too. Pokemon 4-Ever was the only Pokemon movie that has been shown in Finland in English language. With Finnish subtitles of course. I made a music video combining Blind Guardian's piece 'Traveler In Time' and the movie. Celebi is also a symbol of another website, which I have considered a bit unapproachable.

252 TREECKO

RSE, in a reverse of GSC's "Cool But Worthless", seems to have gone with the theme "Uninspired But Useful". Take the starters, for instant. This is the Grass starter... some sort of... lizard... thing. In the wake of Bulbasaur and Chikorita, this one's just plain lame. The starters of RSE are all kind of unmemorable, except for Mudkip, and that's only because of the meme.

#253 Grovyle

Grovyle looks likea grown up, darker Treecko that takes on bayleef's styling headleaf, only adding arm tassles and making them longer and more flowy. After Ash's Treecko evolved in the Anime, Grovyle became a big powerhouse that was often used and it was not uncommon to see it at least once an episode. But he's definately a cool grass lizard!

#254 Sceptile

I can think of two past TPMers who have had this pokemon's name in their usernames, can you? I thought of Sceptile_Master and Shiny Sceptile (although the latter wan't around very long). Those who started with Treecko in Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald ended up with this guy on their team (assuming they didn't box their starter). I didn't start with Treecko however, I started with everyone's favorite memeified pokemon.

255 Torchic

One of the starters for the R/S/E series and seems to be a favourite of May/Haruka in the anime series. Not a personal favourite of mine but other people seem to like it.

256 COMBUSKEN
Evolving Torchic into this bastard of a Pokemon adds one type, that is Fighting. It brings on a possibility to use moves such as Bulk Up at level 28 or Sky Uppercut at level 50. So don't forget to evolve your Torchic!

#258 Mudkip

So, I heard you liek Mudkipz. Come on, it would be a crime not to start this entry with that line. Mudkip is probably one of the few non-gen-one pokemon known outside of the fandom simply due to that popular Internet fad. Also, like I said above, I picked Mudkip as my starter in Ruby and Emerald. Not for any particular reason other than my tradition of picking the water starter.

Evolving Torchic into Combusken adds Fighting and evolving Mudkip into Marshtomp adds Ground to the type. In my opinion it looks kinda cool, in fact. Its Hail is still 'unfair' because it's not an Ice type itself. OK, I said that.

#260 Swampert

Is actually pretty badass. A useful type coupled with a great movepool make this guy a great tank, really. That is, until Energy Ball decided to become best friends with Mismagius. Still.. Swampert's not so bad.

261 Poochyena

Another dog like pokemon, but this one seems to pull it off very well. It looks pretty bad at first sight but it is a living powerhouse of moves and has a very nice looking evolution.

#262 Mightyena

This oversized fluffy black border collie is well known for being a member of the opposite team. It's a favorite of Team Magma and others in the game and often hits you right off the back with it's Intimidate ability, which cuts your attack power. Otherwise, this dog pokemon is well known in the pokemon world as it's pre-evolved form, Poochyena, is very common in the game.

#263 Zigzagoon

A nice change of pace from Rattata and Sentret, Zigzagoon is actually useful, thanks to its pickup ability. It can pick up various items including potions, pokeballs, and TMs. In the 4th gen games, if it's at a high enough level, it might even pick up one of the evolution stones introduced in that generation.

Linoone attacks its prey superfast, over 30 mph according to the PokeDex. But also according to the PokeDex, it misses it often because it can only run straight. It can still pick up items as well as have the Gluttony ability, plus some new moves it couldn't be taught as a Zigzagoon.

#265 Wurmple

Wurmple was the caterpee/weedle of the third generation. Known for being fairly weak, they evolve pretty early. These were also one of the first pokemon to be able to evolve into 2 different pokemon, Silcoon or Cascoon depending on the time of day. This face is used in the anime, as both Jessie and Dawn capture a wurmple, but each get different results.

266 Silcoon

In my opinio the better of the two evolutions of Wurmple since I like Beautifly way more then Dustox. Maybe cause it looks likes Butterfree which was awesome anyway. Though you don't find too many of these in the game if you want a strong pokemon these are a must.

267 BEAUTIFLY
Oh yeah, Beautifly is kinda cool. Perhaps a repeat of Butterfree, but its Diamond and Pearl PokeDex entries tell us about a more aggressive nature and stabbing prey, unlike Butterfree's, which is about honey. Ash's Butterfree left in an episode called 'Bye Bye Butterfree' but Beautifly, on the other hand, reminds me of Nightwish's piece 'Bye Bye Beautiful'.

#268 Cascoon

Looks very similar to Silcoon. Whenever I evolve a Wurmple I can never tell what it evolved into until the silhouette clears. Also, for some reason, I always seem to get Cascoon when going for a Silcoon. Contrary to popular belief from back in the day, Wurmple's evolution is completely independent of both time of day and gender. It's actually based on a hidden value, meaning that what Wurmple evolves into is predetermined when you catch it, and completely random.

#269 Dustox
Bleh. The final in a boring Caterpie/Weedle knock-off series. Dustox is the most minor offender as it's not a bee ala Beedrill, but it is instead a wannabe Venomoth. Call me a 151 loyalist, but Dustox is a grim reminder that most of the newer Pokemon are lamewads.

270 Lotad

Lotad is a tiny little frog with a bucket on its head, how much more awesome do you need. This pokemon seems a little lame and has no reedeming features besides its look but the thing that creeps me out is it has 6 legs weird.

271 Lombre

Eyy Cubano! Lombre made me feel as if Pokemon just wanted to be stereotypical about Mexican culture in particular. Then they had this guy evolve and it just made it so much more funny. Lombre does not stand out at all though. CEPT FOR ITS VEST. LOL.

Ay caramba, how did this stereotype get into the games? You'd think after Jynx, the folks at Game Freak would have gotten their act together, but no. They had to stick in this guy, who is of course, an insult to pineapples everywhere!

As far as auxiliary Pokemon nobody cares about, Seedot is a pretty strong contender. He's just a wee little seed, y'see, he doesn't look or act particularly interesting in himself. The best part is that he evolves into something less bland-looking. I named one of my Seedot 'HE IS VIGO', in recognition of a line from Ghostbusters II.

274 Nuzleaf

Its like a Plant version of Tyrogue. Seriously. Not that many good attacks, an odd typing, but can still kick some butt. The leaf atop its head though can go.

275 SHIFTRY
In Japanese, this Pokemon is called Daatengu. It's based on tengus in Japanese mythology, monsters that live in mountains. This Pokemon always reminds me of a videogame called Dead Or Alive 2, where the final opponent is none other than a tengu.

#256 Taillow

AKA Generic bird #6. There's not much to say about Taillow, it's just the obligatory bird thrown into the beginning of the game in each generation, just like the generic bugs and land-dwelling pokemon. Perhaps the only interesting thing to say about Taillow is that it does have the distinction of being the first pokemon Ash caught in Hoenn.

257 Swellow

The evolution of the token bird pokemon of the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald games. This pokemon is quite a tough nut. Swellow has decent attack as well as a nice move set, over all this is a strong addition to anyones team.

Seems an awfully logical little Pogey here in a seagull. I always reckon that their call should have just been a 'caw', they kinda dropped the ball on that one. What was that sailor's Wingull's name? Peeko or something? I liked that guy and his Wingull. Then you learn how to Surf and he basically disappears and you're like, well damn, no more Peeko. I named my Wingull Seeker. It's kinda like Peeko but different.

#569 Pelipper

(actually #279 for those keeping score at home)

When Wingull reaches level 25 it evolves into this guy, who has a bigger mouth than my brother. That massive beak actually slows it down after its evolution, giving it a lower speed stat than Wingull. Pelipper is a Water/Flying type, sharing its type with the likes of Gyarados and Mantine. Much like its brethren, it suffers from a double weakness to Electric attacks.

This is an awesome pokemon, all cute with its little green helmet with red disc like horns always looking like its pondering something as it walks around. This is also an odd pokemon because it has a branched evolution either becoming an elegnat psychic Gardevoir or a Fighting Gallade.
