Good evening folks and welcome to yet another Pokemon battle. This time we have MeLo and Grey who are both fighting in a Gym Qualifier. If MeLo wins then Grey will go home with nothing. If Grey wins then he shall become a Gym Leader...something I failed to do, let's see if he can do better. Suddenly, the ref appears out of nowhere with his Roselia. He faces the challengers.
"This will be a 1 VS 1 Gym Qualifier Pokemon battle between Leader MeLo and Challenger Grey. There are no banned moves and no Damage Cap...but we're using Baby Pokemon which can't seem to hurt others much."
He then raised his arms then brought them back down, slicing the air.
"Begin!"

GYM BATTLE! (ish). We begin with the female Cleffa (left) putting up a viel of light that dazzles passerbyers and...causing that car to crash *facepalm*. Itchy (male Cleffa, right) seems just as impressed and compliments how well Ai did that and asked if she could do it again, not for any use. It just makes her look pretty. Ai oblidges. I can kinda see where this is going...

Itchy, determined to make Ai use the move again, shows how pretty it can be by using it himself. Ai certainly looks impressed but shows him how to do it properly. She does it again but all it does is waste her energy and make her look pretty. She then realises (somehow) that Itchy was faking it all and she scowled at him.

Ai decides that Itchy should pay for tricking her like that so she punched him with a white fist that was imbedded with a magical energy. He was punched in the gut but before the second effect could take hold, his Safeguard shimmered and protected against it. He then shimmers some more and strikes back onto Ai, hard. This does put a strain on him though.

Safeguard protects against confusion, I'm pretty sure; as such, Counter shouldn'tve been negated by it.
