Gym Selection Test: MLG vs. Dragonis

I'll be using Cleffa and you'll be using Togepi. Mine is named Ai and is a female.

Ok Ai, Safeguard, then use Dizzy Punch, finish with Iron Tail.

My Togepi shall be known as Sunny, and is female aswell.

Sunny, start off with Natsy Plot. Then use Tri Attack fallowed by Flamethrower.

Round 1

Another Gym Qualifier you say? Impossible! Well it's true, this is a Gym Qualifier between MeLo the Leader and Drago the Challenger. The last one to face MeLo was Grey and he sent his Cleffa flying. Does Drago have the same chance? We'll find out. The two meet in the center of the arena and shake hands. Smoke fills the reffing podium and the ref steps out with his Tyrogue at his side. He steps forward.

"This will be a 1 VS 1 Gym Qualifier between MeLo the Leader and Drago the Challenger. There are no banned moves and there is no Damage Cap. The DQ is one week. MeLo will be using Cleffa whilst Drago will use Togepi. Begin!

Huzzah for referee's! We begin the round with Ai, everyone's favourite Cleffa, putting up a veil of shimmering light to protect herself from statuses. Sunny began to think of ways to turn that shield against her. That's it! Don't use status inflicting moves.

Now it gets interesting, Ai leaps at Sunny with a white glowing fist. It makes contact and Sunny is hit to the ground. Sunny gets back up, rubbing her head and fires a barrage of ice, fire and lightning. They hit and knocks Ai to the ground.

Now with that done, Sunny fires a volley of flames that knock into Ai. She growls and does a twirl in midjump and smacks Sunny with her glowing tail. Her defence goes up a bit.

Sunny start off with Safeguard. Then go for a Seismic Toss. After that use Dizzy Punch.

Hello mother! We begin the round with the small egg ball covering herself in a shimmering veil. Ai smirks, some strategies work no matter how many times you've used them. She applauds Sunny and asks if she could do it again. She nods, wouldn't hurt.

Sunny does another shimmering veil of light. But it had no effect. Sunny snapped out of her trance and believed she had hurt Ai with a Seismic Toss. Ai rolled her eyes and punched her stomach really hard. She gained a massive stat boost but her defense was lowered dramatically. She got up and snarled. Time for war.

With the boost she needed, Ai rushed at Sunny and hit her with a glowing tail. She felt harder but was soon puched by a recovering Sunny. The Safeguard stopped her getting confused.

Meh! We begin the round with a Sunny preparing herself for a slamdown whilst Ai gets her tail glowing. She quickly moves towards Sunny and does a jump and twirls in midair. She slams her tail into Sunny but is immediately grabbed by the same tail and smashed into the ground. Painful...

Ai frowned and decided to go for a more stronger approach. Her head glowed a light blue and she lowered her head. From there, she charged at Sunny. Sunny braced herself and sent a shattering punch Ai's way. They both met and they were locked for a minute or so. Sunny was then pushed backwards until she lost her balance. Ai took her chance and 'butted her.

Ai smirked and rushed at Sunny. She did a full slam into her and brought her to the ground. Suddenly, she was grabbed by Sunny and was lifted. She was thrown into the air and landed with a thump. Sunny panted. Ai's veil of light dissapated.

Actually, Counter doesn't double the damage in ASB. Moves like Counter, Mirror Coat, Bide, Metalburst, do more damage than the move they get hit by, but it doesn't double the damage. Just some random complaining.

Uhh yeah, MLG's got it. Got tired of everyone stating that it should double damage. Didn't want to give an exact figure (so as not to stifle creativity), but I did want it to be known that the damage dealt back was higher than was dealt.

However >> Counter is dealt back as Fighting. Last I checked, yer Pokemon are normal. *shrug* just an observation.

Uhh...yeah! I knew that! Counter does that damage cos it's a fighting move...

[Dragonis]

Alright Sunny, use Softboiled. Then Relax and build up some energy.

If I'm correct, Rossy counts energy KO's. So that Softboiled should take care of that for me.

If not, use Irontail three times and knock him out with your awesome killer-attack.

Short round? Hell yeah! We begin with Ai rushing at the egg, stub tail glowing. Sunny, meanwhile was creating a small shining egg filled with lovely healing agents and the like. She creates it...then collapses with about -45% EN. Ai stops before the attack and raises an eyebrow. lolwut? She looks around and quickly eats the egg. Yum. The ref teleports down and states the obvious.

"Sunny is unable to battle. The winner of this round is Ai, this means that the winner of this match is MeLo. Congratulations! Drago does not become a Gym Leader. Ah well, better luck next time."

A bit too late, Sunny's Safegaurd dissapates, ending yet another battle.
