The Journey:

Welcome to the Safari Zone. As you take Rudiasho and Nepenthes with you, leaving the rest of your team with the receptionist, you're walked to a side room filled with Psychic Pokémon and trainers. A Kirla stands on her toes as you walk up and give the trainer the information. A flash of white and your sensation is suspended.

There are rocks under your feet, loosely consolidated gravel. Footing is sparse, but you use it as best you can. There is a Phanpy digging up gravel with his snout. Over towards the cliff of the quarry, you can see a Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee sparing, breaking rocks with raw energy of their fighting spirits. There's also a Lucario focusing himself, and smashing boulders with his spikes as a Flygon takes to the sky, avoiding an enraged Nidoking.

Dang... an excellent selection all around. I'm really tempted by the Lucario and the Nidoking, but I'm trying to keep my TPM team selection a little different from my other ASB team and I already have Lucario and Nidoran M there... hrm. Well, then, I guess that Flygon does look lovely.

Okay, then. Not sure what's got that Nidoking so upset, but we'll just get that Flygon out of his way, shall we boys? Rudiasho, use those awesome Blaziken legs of yours to try jumping after the Flygon and see if you can't convince it that it'd be a lot safer tagging along with us. If so and it comes back down, I'll toss the Ultra Ball at it. If it disagrees, grab onto it and slam it down into the ground with Giga Impact. When you've recovered enough to attack again, try pinning its wings with Rock Slide. If you can't grab it, though, fire off a few Focus Blasts instead and see what happens.

Nepenthes, you wait and see what the Flygon does. If Rudiasho has to force it back to the ground, when it's grounded you hit it with Sleep Powder, Leech Seed and Body Slam.

I'll keep an eye on the other Pokémon while you two handle Flygon. That Nidoking looks nasty...

The Journey:

The Flygon has caught your attention as it flies away from the enraged Nidoking. Rudiasho takes off running, his footing a bit uncertain before he launches himself up like a leaf on the wind. It lands surprisngly lightly on the Dragon's back, taking it by surprise. The warrior's speech is calm as it talks to the Flygon. Circling around the Flygon descends in front of you, tilting his head at you curiously. You take out the Ultra Ball, but Radiasho stops you from throwing you. Apparently the Flygon is interested in being safe, but however it wants to see how well you can handle yourself in the zone before going with you. It will travel in the Zone with you, but only if it feels safe with you will it leave with you.

With the Flygon now accompanying you, you and your group walk through the Quarry. It seems a bit bigger than before, with a small artificial lake over at the side. Probably formed from rain water. You spot a Cacnea near it, enjoying the fresh sun. A long string of rocks moves and reveals that it is an Onix as it slithers along.

The Area:

The Old Village

An abandoned part of the village that is set for refurbishment some time in the future. Who knows what you can find here, pokemon seem to flock to it from wherever they are. There's also rumours of places hidden beneath the old village..

The Journey:

Another free-for-all round, and the fight has reached its peak. Yana lets out a loud snore that startles the weakest Eevee (-5, +5, +5/-6). The mother responds by disappearing (-4/-5). Dodger scrambles in and slams into the Eevee to separate it from the rest of the group (-6/-12). Ryan passes out and starts to heal (+6, +10), while the Ariados launches himself onto Dodger's back, wrapping its legs around the Aerodactyl like an iron maiden (-3/-1). The Eevee's slam into Dodger to get him away from their brother (-2 (x 4)/-24(, and they succeed in slamming Dodger back, and onto his back, landing on the Ariados (-5).

Yana seems to prepare herself as she still sleeps. Ryan on the other hand just lets out a deep snore (-5, +6, +10/-6) that startles one of the Eevees. You let the Poké Ball rip as it spins through the air connecting with the beaten and battered Eevee. It wobbles for a bit before it dings, and then transported away. You can hear the congratulations message from the Safari Zone ring on your PokéDex, but you've got more important things to worry about. Dodger's troubles get worse as he's bitten by the Ariados that's clinging to him (-4/-8). The prehistoric predator isn't about to give up yet, as he spins around to slam his tail into the Umbreon mother (-5/-10). One of their own gone, the mother and her remaining four cubs each kick up a paw full of sand and send it flying at their attackers (-3/-3 (x 4)/ACC --/ACC --/ACC -).

As the battlers deal with the sand in their eyes, the Umbreon mother and her cubs escape through an alley. Yana starts to rise in her sleep, and through the sleep in her eyes she looks up and sees her Team-mate struggling with a bug on his back (-3/-1), so she blasts out a burst of flame at the Ariados (-6/-15), burning the spider off. Ryan is still asleep and a burst of cold wind washes over the area (-2, +6, +10/-6). Now the Ariados is outnumbered, with a very angry Aerodactyl and fully healed Houndoom staring him down.

Dodger coughs from the strain of fighting (-3 (PSN)).

Further along, you see two Geodude, one looking like it got shot out of a cannon. A Tyrogue trains itself on boulders in a moment of self-discipline. A Nosepass rests ontop of the rock that the Tyrogue is trying to break while a Primape throws a little tantrum and a Larvitar watches annoyed.

It's time for some new blood in my team, so I think I'll give this a try. I'm going to buy two Ultra Balls, and bring Silvermane (shiny male Arcanine) and Rui (shiny female Gangar) with me as I start off in the Ivy Woods.

Nepenthes, Sleep Powder until it works, then Vine Whip if you have any actions left. Rudiasho, Will-O-Wisp, Thunderpunch and then Brick Break. Let's see where the little bugger is after that.

Nice work, guys. Yana roar as fiercly as you can and hopfully that will inclunce the arados to bugger off. If that fails, fire blast him. If he still sticks around trap him in a fire spin.

Dodger, roar as fiercly as you can along with yana. if that fails, use a fire blast as well and then rest.

Ryan, keep resting unless attacked then sleep talk.

If the roars, worked in making the aridos go away. Then I'll recall Ryan and have Dodger use rest before recallign him as well. Then i'll go and see if whatever was still in that hole was still there which is probably doubtful with the commotion that was going on.

A signpost up ahead points to a thin trail leading in. Otherwise, there's always the perimeter search...

Patting Rui, you take the plunge, throwing yourself through the dense thicket and into the Woods. Your first few steps are met with thick swaths of branches, but you end up on a pretty decent trail.

A few Seedot spin in a small line crossing the road. Silvermane looks up, and catches a glimpse of a Ledian licking a branch.

With no fear in your heart or your step, you trek along as the trail curves in and out of all sorts of trees. Branches are pushed aside and you almost step on a Paras, as it skitters away. A Croagunk looks at you pensively from a tree not too far ahead-and the bushes next to Silvermane shake violently for a moment, before a loud grumble is heard.

Up ahead are some rocky outcroppings within the woods.

No fear exudes from you, as you tell Rui to brush the bush aside. She floats over and pats the bush a few times. In short order, a irritated Grotle stomps out, shaking some thorns off its back. By dislodging the Grotel, you also happened to free some Burny that bounce away.

Silvermane growls, adn for a split second, a Yanmega flies by, followed by 4 Yanma. They're making insane time, its like they're ...fleeing.

You leave the Grotle to its own business and turn back a ways. You notice a smaller hidden path that extends eastward, and deeper still in this foggy woods. A low moan catches your ears, and some Nincada scurry over your feet.

A few feet in, you reach a fork in the road. The mist blocks out your visibility past a few feet, so its a crapshoot either way. A Bidoof runs out from the left path and passes you by.
