It was a regular day across the entire island continent of Denoris. Denoris, a not particularly loud continent in the ways of world wonders or celebrities and entertainment. Just a continent of amazing nature and almost fantastical adventure. Well the upcoming story was nothing but real.
Here you should meet Rob. An explorer of the lands of Denoris. He has great experience with many situations. He has been caught under a rockslide, avalanche, tornado, you name he has probably been through it. This explorer was going to take on the explorer dream. To investigate the Ruins near the desert of Salvi. Nobody up to date has survived from the ruins of Denoris. To tourists it looks just like a broken down Temple that Monks used to worship in back in old times. But it isn’t just a broken down temple. Something dark has lurked in the Temple since the old times. Lets take a look.
Back in the old days, around 1621, the monks of Denoris have worshipped in this said temple for a good 15 years. The temple was new and was still in good condition. But then again anyone could come in to worship, and when I say anyone, I mean anyone. They let animals in, they let the homeless in, anyone that wanted to worship came to the temple. Well it just so happened that one day, a congregation of people went in to worship one pitch black, starless night. And they never came out. People said that this some sort of darkness thrives in the temple. But nobody knows the truth because nobody has lived after they entered the temple A darkness ever since then has twisted and warped the temple to the people that enter it. The darkness has created almost another dimension over time. A dimension in which you aren’t supposed to come out. But people who haven’t died, but have dwelled within the new dimension, have not yet figured out a way to come out.
Now today, 1986, on the island continent of Denoris, Rob Siren, a wily explorer daring enough to enter the temple. He caries along with him six jewels, jewels in which held different darkness repellents. But what he didn’t know, they sported the lives of ancient spirits that used to dwell within the Temple. But since the darkness has taken over, the spirits have taken the form of a jewel. A colored jewel taking the shape of the element the spirit resembled. What will happen? Does death await him at his next few steps? Lets go into his head to find out, shall we?
“Alright Rob you can do it. You can enter this temple and come back out. I have the jewels that will help me escape. You can do this. The jewels and I can do this.” He ran up the steps in an awkward fashion, like an imp prancing but also galloping. He stumbled at the top of the seemingly endless stairs. What he didn’t know was a crowd was waiting and watching to see what happens to him. The temple doors opened right before his eyes, like responding to his steps. AS he got closer the doors opened more, to the point where they started closing after he was in farther enough. Everyone in the crowds heart was beating so fast like a stampede of bulls.
“Hello? Anyone in here?” There was definitely something in there. A eerie black emanation was coming out of an altar creating a creature so big it almost didn’t fit in the massive sanctuary. It was a chimera. A chimera of complete darkness. Its glowing read eyes, its lions mane of shadows, its goat hooves of unforgiving blackness, its dark snake tail. It gave a roar that the crowd outside barley heard, seeing as they were so far away from the temple and the walls inside the deathtrap were almost soundproof. He threw the jewels on the ground which were supposed to help him escape. Just then the spirits were unleashed giving him time to walk into the light that made him escape. The sprits went away, and the darkness staggered. He was temporarily taken of his senses. Trying to get his senses back in an angry fury, Rob just stood there trying to soak it in. Then the chimera had gotten what he wanted. His senses were better, and Rob knew he had to leave. The chimera disappeared instead of attacking leaving a mist shrouding the whole Temple. It almost consumed Robs escaping light but Rob managed to get out of the temple at a cost. He would never be the same Rob again. Not only were the crystals left in the Temple, but Rob was driven insane from the strange sinister mist.
“The crowd cheered but soon realized that something was different. Rob was most definitely not the same. He was now completely insane, thrashing about and shouting random phrases like, “The sugar is on the table.” and “The water is just fine.” But Rob was not either in a body of water, or in his kitchen cooking. There happened to be a medic in the crowd, and she brought Rob to the hospital. He never left that place, and his soul was trapped in the temple.
That night six souls were awoken in the middle of the night to a call coming from nearby the temple. Was it a trap. No. It was the six spirits, calling six fortunate but unfortunate souls to become some sort of demigod. They all walked toward the temple, the twenty mile walk it was. But the six souls never faltered. They were in a trance. And they were going to get to that temple. They all met from their six different locations and were knocked out of their trance. Immediately they dropped from a tiredness that built up as they were walking. A voice spoke, startling the six teenagers.
“You six warriors of the crystals will begin your training soon. We bestow upon you our power. Your quest is to train under the knowledge of the Mind. You may find the mind in the center state, north of here. The powers we bestow you are at their minimum, for we have not needed to use them in a millennium.
Then six different colored wisps glowed in front of the six teens, each resembling an element. Water, Earth, Fire, Air, Light, Dark. The spirit talked again “May I remind you that you must stay under control of yourself, for if you do not contain personal control, you may perish under the weight of your own power.”
Just then the six wisps flew up into the air, and back down again only to dissolve into the six teenager.
“We will be with you only when you need guidance. Don’t ever forget that.”
