Wii Sports Resort

Has anyone else delved into their hard earned monies to get it?!

I bought it today. Got it quite cheaply as I had something to trade in and the joy that is student discount 8D

It's really fun. Like, Wii Sports fun, just more in epic proportions. The bowling is so super accurate I can't hit every pin anymore. The golf has gone from being annoyingly inaccurate to very twitchy, since the slightest movement of your wrist will throw it off completely. But, you do get to "reset your stance" so that you can start your swing from wherever it is most comfortable. The putting is much better also.

The new sports are just so funny. My brother found himself screaming "I'M A NINJA!" whilst doing the sword fighting and commented "Black guy playing basket ball, cannot loose to white girl" (despite the fact he is white with blond hair, his Mii is black with an afro lol) whilst trying to beat my score in Basket Ball. Sadly, he thrashed my score at basket ball D:

I kinda wish I'd bought another Motion Plus attachment now, some of the 2p stuff looks awesome D:

The only thing I found annoying was the fact that Nintendo felt the need to tell you how to attach the Motion Plus, how to unattach it, how to attach the nun-chuck and how to stablise the wiimote if it starts going crazy in a 3 minute video that you can't skip once you put the disk in for the first time. The first three are common sense, really, any 5 year old could figure it out, and Resort tells you a million times how to stablise the wiimote during the game anyway.

If you want Motion Plus, I'd reconmend Resort over the tennis game it's bundled with, since my friend who adores the sport has got bored of it very quickly.

Anyone elses' thoughts? ^^

I won't be getting it ^_^. I hafta buy school books, and lunch. I havn't bought a game with my money since...Madworld?

But I do want the Motionplus...Maybe I'll steal it from the school store (Yes, they have a massive video game section there :3)

This will be the next Wii game I get for sure. I'm not the biggest fan of Wii Sports but it really showed off what the system could do. I think the fact that it's a full $50 game and not just a pack in made Nintendo really step up their game. Just wish it came with 2 motion plus.

Jess' parents got a Wii and are obsessed with the Wii series, so I've gotten to play with this one a bit... It's fun, but I'll probably wait a while before delving into a purchase. Whereas the original Wii Sports was great as a chance to play around with the Wii for the first time, I found myself cycling through the games available here and then wondering... now what?

I was surprised to find that my favourite was the sword fighting, and in particular the mode where you take on the oncoming legions. It's quite simplistic, but tons of fun, and the physics of Miis are hilarious. Just like how it was fun watching them plonk to the mat when KO'd in Boxing, watching them go flying from a swipe of the sword is great fun.

I haven't tried out the multiplayer potential of the game yet (getting a second attachment just for the one game right now isn't a worthwhile investment), but I reckon I could have some fun with that, too...

At some point I'm going to splurge and buy it, plus finally give in to my demons and grab Animal Crossing (half-price at JB NOM NOM)

Not really... It's got a few more sports to play with, but none of them are terribly deep, and when you think about it, it's basically the same as playing more elaborate Mario Party minigames without the board game.

Haha, when I bought Resort, they tried to offer me a second Motion Plus for "only £19.99 when purchased with this!". I then pointed out that £19.99 was the price they were selling it for by itself, so he wasn't really giving me a deal at all, took my purchase and happily skipped home to play it.

Oooh! Animal Crossing! I want to get it with Wii Speak, but so far I don't know anyone that has it D:

They're selling Wii Speak by itself really cheaply in HMV... Now to find a cheap copy of Animal Crossing... Lets beat the bundle price! >o<

I love the Swordfighting aspect, but my favorite by far is Archery. I've been doing archery since 11, and for the Wii, this is not bad at all. The MotionPlus really helps the whole line of sight & balance issue.

Now if they only made a Bow controller....I'd be in heaven, lol.

That would be a crossbow, dear. Definatly not the same thing.

Isn't that from Link's Crossbow Training? Would be too small for the motion plus. You also use A to get ready and Z to draw the bow, Wiimote in left hand, not right. Wiimote also has to be held vertically to aim :3

Well the game's got 12 sports so even if you take out Bowling and Golf it's got twice as many games as the original.

Yeah and that crossbow looks far too complex. Just make a danged plastic Bow, and have it so the handle of the bow can have the Wii inserted in it, and then I can attach the Nunchuck to the bowstring and pull back. Simple as that.
