Rossymore VS Mike Mysterio [Ref: Virtual Play]

This is not the fifth/sixth battle I'm participating in...Mike told me to do it! ;D

DQ: 1 week (though it doesn't apply very much in this place anyway)
Arena: Room of Japanese References
This large hall is...huge...three Wailord can stand on top of each other and bounce on a trampoline and still wouldn't be able to get near the ceiling...and also due to the fact that no fish based Pokemon can do anything. This place is special due to many Japanese references coming through the speakers. At the end of each round there will be a 5% chance of three things happening. Giving it a 15% chance overall. The effects will last for the whole of the next round before dissapating into thin air. The effects are:

• The crappy song Caramaldansen will play causing both Pokemon to become confused. I believe that it's Japanese and no one will tell me otherwise.
• A loud and irritating voice will shout 'KATUNG' and fire will rain down from the ceiling burning both contenders.
• The final one will sing out a Japanese war song. The next rounds attacks must be in Japanese otherwise the Pokemon will not listen and do whatever the hell they want (note that the names of the attacks must be in Japanese not the entire post!).

Let's make it fun for the first fight with a fighting vs fighting. I'll sent out Ryu my male Primeape with blue wristbands.

Ryu start off by shoting a Gunk Shot at her face. Then combind a Aerial Ace, with a Ice Punch.

Arena:
The Room of Japanese References. Interesting room, descriptive name. It's pretty much nothing more than a ridiculously large, extremely open room. There are speakers somewhere hidden in the walls, ready to shout out some weird Japanese reference to cause an effect to the battle.

Pre-Battle:
The ref arrives at the interesting arena, looks around, then finds his little box. The room is boring overall, but once the battlers start up, it'll stop being that way for sure.

After a few minutes, the battlers arrive, each of them following the path to get to their respective boxes. Rossymore and Mike Mysterio had apparently planned this already, so there's no need for a challenge issuance here, just battling.

And they waste no time in starting it up. Rossy goes first and sends out his Hitmonchan, nicknamed Ebiwalar. Ebiwalar doesn't look special for a Hitmonchan, but you can tell Rossy considers her to be.

Mike proposes it starts as a fighting match and follows with his Primape, Ryu. Ryu's bands shine a bright blue, contrasting to his otherwise plain coloring.

Mike also wastes no time and calls out his attack plan: "Ryu, start off by shoting a Gunk Shot at her face. Then combine an Aerial Ace with an Ice Punch." The pig-monkey fighter nods his head in approval of the plan.

Rossy counters with his own plan, "Use Drain Punch, then Protect from the combo, and finish with Focus Punch." Ebiwalar looks content in the plan and prepares to execute it to the best of her ability.

Both battlers wait in anticipation for the round to start. The walls on the ref's side suddenly light up and display what looks like health bars that look eerily like a classic fighting game that one of the battlers happens to share a name from. Then words flash across the wall, and from the speakers a voice shouts out the words: "Round 1...FIGHT!"

Slightly startled from the announcement, both battlers quickly focus on each other instead of dwelling on it. Before Ebiwalar can react though, a large poisonous glob splashes all over her, courtesy of Ryu. Ryu wipes away a couple drops of poison from his mouth and looks pleased with his accomplishment.

Ebiwalar doesn't feel any lasting effects from the glob, but she still isn't happy with it and focuses energy into her fist before slamming it into the offending Ryu. Ryu takes it right in the forehead, and feels his health being sapped. Ebiwalar feels a slight relief as she regains some of her health.

Ryu quickly jumps back and gets ready to do his next attack. Pushing his energy towards the ground, he jumps up a few feet into the sky and takes aim at Ebiwalar, then focuses to chill one of his fists. As he falls towards Ebi, he angles his body to ensure he hits, then pushes his fists to hit...

...a Protect shield! The energy Ryu put into that attack seems to have been wasted, but a closer look shows that Ebiwalar had to put out extra effort to hold the Protect against a double attack. Unfortunately for Ryu, combining his last two attacks has left him wide open for counter-attack.

Ebiwalar seems to understand this, and calmly collects energy in anticipation of her next attack. Spending a little extra time to aim, she puts her right fist forward and rockets into Ryu, knocking him back hard. Ryu clamors to his feet and stares down Ebiwalar, who gracefully jumps back into a ready position.

A bell sounds out from nowhere, signalling the end of the round. Both battlers look ready for more, and both dance their feet in place while waiting for their next attacks.

Arena:
A low crackling can be heard coming over the speakers. It is followed by a dull electric humming for a few seconds before the speakers click and turn off. The combatants sigh in relief, but are suddenly shocked when a loud voice yells out "KATUNG!!" Somewhere above everyone, small glowing balls of fire start materializing. They hang there, waiting for the next round to start before they decide to come crashing down. This upcoming round is sure to be a hot one...

Thank random dice rolls for the burning-ness next round. Rossy attacks first.

Arena:
The arena has already taken a turn for the worse, as flames are building up at the roof, just waiting to fall down on the battlers.

Pre-Battle:
The trainers don't like the looks of the fire, but they know it's just part of the arena so they have to keep battling. This time Rossy calls his attacks first, "Begin with Bulk Up and then hit it hard with Bullet Punch. For the final round, if it does a physical, use Counter. If not, use Facade."

Mike then issues his own attacks, "Ryu, start off by hitting her with with a Aerial Ace. Then use Stone Edge. Last give her some Payback."

Immediately, before anything else can happen, the flames dive down to floor level and hover everywhere around the battlers; there's no way to avoid them, but for the most part they're just a bit painful and not too distracting. Which is good because Ebi needs to focus on pumping her stats up.

Before she can start, though, she gets knocked to the ground by a seemingly-flying Ryu, who just fell from the sky to attack her. Getting up and ignoring the flames beating into her, Ebi focuses for real and gets her stats up successfully. Immediately she turns towards Ryu and rushes in with a blazing fast punch that leaves the Primape reeling.

Gaining a footing, Ryu sees an opportunity with Ebi so close and hardens his fists to stone-like stiffness and hits Ebi right in the side, knocking her back a ways. Both battlers continue to feel the burn from the flames as they ready their next moves.

Ryu seems to be waiting for Ebi to make a move, but seeing that Ebi is waiting as well, Ryu charges headstrong towards her with a slightly darkened fist. Ryu feels the hit land, but is shocked when he suddenly finds himself being thrown at the ground. Ryu jumps back through more flames and stands ready for more, as Ebi looks content at her last move.

Both battlers stare each other down as a loud bell comes from the ref's box, signaling the end of another round.

Arena:
The instant the round is done, the flames dissipate and the burns the battlers had endured healed up. The speakers crackle and buzz like they did at the end of the previous round, then stop suddenly again. This time, however, no further sounds were emitted, and after a couple minutes it was safe to assume that the room would be normal in the next round.

Pre-Battle:
With the flames gone from the previous round, the battlers don't have anything extra to worry about this time, so they go straight for attacks. Mike starts off with a simple command, "Alright Ryu, use Aerial Ace times three!."

Rossy, however, goes with a different strategy, "Use an Agility and Mach Punch combo to hit him before he has a chance to move. Finish with Counter."

With both combatants having issued their commands, the wall lights up with words once more, as the disembodied voice yells "Round 3...FIGHT!"

Before he can even register anything happening, Ryu gets smacked to the ground by a supremely speedy punch, enhanced by Ebi's Agility causing more damage than usual. Ryu picks himself up, jumps into the air, and practically flies into Ebi, hitting her weak spot again with a slightly glowing fist.

Ryu stops himself and turns, then focuses on Ebi's stationary (for once) location, then jumps once more for another flying slash. As Ryu's fist glows again, Ebi watches in anticipation. Ryu's fist connects, but Ebi quickly grabs him out of the air and, for a change of pace, throws him against the wall.

Ryu picks himself up once more and focuses on the helpless, out-of-commands Ebi. He jumps once more, but he seems to be needing to put more effort into it, as he's repeatedly using a move that doesn't feel natural. His glowing fist connects again, and both battlers rebound and prepare for the next round.

Pre-Battle:
It's starting to get into the latter part of this portion of the battle, as both battlers are starting to get more and more worn down from their fighting.

Rossy starts his attacks this time, "Use Counter if the move is physical, otherwise use a Fire Punch/Mach Punch combo, then Double Team."

Mike then issues his commands, "Ryu, start off by Detecting the combo. Then use a wide Swift to get rid of the clones. Last use a Foucs Blast."

The now-familiar voice calls out the screen display, "Round 4...FIGHT!"

Ryu immediately goes into a focused trance, closing his eyes and standing still. Ebi isn't sure how to take this, but since it doesn't seem to be a physical attack, she charges her fist with a fiery aura and relaxes her muscles to increase her speed. With both of these in place, she hurls herself at Ryu's stationary figure.

But her punch goes through nothing but air, as Ryu swiftly moves out of the way of the attack. Ebi glares at Ryu, then proceeds to focus and creates three clones of herself, spread out from her main body. They do a little shuffle to confuse Ryu.

But Ryu won't have any of it, as he focuses for a stream of stars to fly out in a huge spread. They tear through every clone, as well as hitting Ebi, but as only a small portion hit her not much damage actually gets done.

Ryu, knowing he has an attack to himself, takes the time to focus energy. He then launches the energy at Ebi, but she manages to nimbly dodge out of the way. With that a loud bell rings, ending the fourth round.

Arena:
After the round has ended, the speakers crackle and buzz a bit, and a faint sound is heard over them, slowly growing louder. It doesn't take long to recognize it as the incredibly over-used and more-than-slightly annoying Caramelldansen song. The trainers merely groan, but the battlers actually start feeling a bit strange at the sound. Looks like the next round will be full of confusion on both sides.

Ryu, start off by using a Ice Punch. Then Outrage him X2.

With the sounds of Caramelldansen ringing through the speakers, both battlers seem to be succumbing to it and getting confused. It doesn't appear to be as bad a case of confusion as would be from a move, but it'll still impact the round.

Despite the reeling confusion of their battlers, the trainers issue their commands. Mike starts with, "Ryu, start off by using a Ice Punch. Then Outrage him two times."

Rossy attempts to turn the attacks around by commanding, "Counter the frozen punch then use Torment. Finish with a Swords Dance."

Once again, the voice starts the round with its regular, "Round 5...FIGHT!"

Ebi waits once more for an attack and stiffens her body. Ryu, however, is unsure of what to do with the music blaring. He runs towards where he thinks Ebi is, but manages to trip on his feet, bashing his head on his fist.

Without a move to Counter, Ebi relaxes and tries to focus on tormenting Ryu, but Ryu interrupts with a properly-focused rage of energy that causes Ebi to fall down. Having lost her focus, Ebi tries to regain it for another attempt to torment, but the music is too much for her to handle. Trying to rid herself of it, she tries punching her head to clear it, but punches a little to hard and takes actual damage.

Ryu doesn't waste any more time, and thoroughly ignoring the music again he continues his raging energy and knocks Ebi over again. Unfortunately for Ryu, he has now gotten extremely tired and can't help but collapse on the floor, unable to continue the Outrage.

Fortunately for him, though, it seems Ebi can't get the song to leave her alone. When she tries to spin herself into a higher state of attack, she trips on her own feet and crashes to the ground. With the round over, both battlers are back on their feet, but neither of them looks particularly happy. They're both relieved when the song ends, however.

With the round over and the confusing music done, the speakers crackle and buzz a bit, but fade out once more, leaving next round to be free from arena challenges.

Okay Ebi, you're a bit low on health but still, use Drain Punch twice then smack it with a Focus Punch if he doesn't attack or use Double Team if move is special. Use Swift if clones are set up and use Counter if move is psysical.

Last two moves are for the second action ONLY and the Focus Punch.Double Team is for the third action.

Pre-Battle:
The battlers stand ready, both of them starting to feel worn down, but also relieved that there's no more singing. The last round had been extremely annoying.

This time, Rossy gets to go first, and gets a little complicated with his wording. Ebi fortunately seems to understand, as she readies herself.

Mike then gives his commands, "Ryu, let's end this. First, relax. Then as she comes in for her attack, hit her with all you got with Giga Impact. Last, recharge."

The tension is building, and these are still only the first of three! The voice once more starts the round with, "Round 6...FIGHT!"

Ryu does what he has to and meditates a little, restoring some of his energy. Ebi, on the other hand, wants to restore some of her health, so she runs in and punches Ryu with a specially-charged fist. She feels a bit of relief as the punch heals her slightly.

Ryu takes Ebi's slight pause as a chance to back up. He starts to charge his body with a powerful force and waits for Ebi to come closer as his trainer said she would. But she doesn't seem to be coming closer and, not wanting to waste the energy, Ryu rushes forward and throws all his energy into a huge attack.

Ebi stands there and takes most of the blow, but at the last moment twirls around and hurls Ryu past her in the same direction, adding more energy and speed to his attack. This causes Ryu to lose control and go spinning wildly, bashing against the ground multiple times before finally stopping.

Ryu sits up, but doesn't do anything else, as he needs a chance to recharge from the huge blast of energy he just put out. Ebi, however, is ready to go again, and focuses her own energy, taking the time she needs to power up sufficiently before launching at the stationary Ryu. He has no choice but to take the hit, and Ebi feels a sense of satisfaction at the energy well spent.

As the round draws to a close, both battlers are looking worse for the wear, but neither of them are giving up just yet. The bell sounds and once again signals the end of the round.

Arena:
With the round over, the speakers crackle and buzz again. Another faint sound can be heard from it, growing louder. This one isn't a familiar sound, however, and all that can easily be told is that it's Japanese. Knowing the room, it must be the Japanese War Song, and both battlers suddenly get a weird look in their eye, as if they were remembering something from their roots. Looks like they might not listen to any attacks not made in Japanese. (You can still say "relax" in English, as that's not really an 'attack' per se.)

I swear, each of the room effects came up on a random number generator...

A Japanese war song is blaring through the speakers, causing the battlers to ignore any actual attack that isn't in Japanese.

After a small hiccup in getting started, the round starts to the voice yelling, "Round 7...FIGHT!" and the Japanese war song playing on. Ryu gladly sits down and restores some of his energy. Ebi, on the other hand, has enough energy to start and glows red slightly, sending taunting waves towards Ryu. Ryu feels stronger, but the sudden emotions have confused him.

Ryu doesn't move, though, and continues to relax, restoring much-needed energy. Ebi takes her chance and rushes towards Ryu, her fist glowing white. With a huge burst of power, she lets loose a punch that sends Ryu rolling back a couple dozen feet. Ryu stops and straightens himself, trying hard to keep himself up.

He sits down once more, relaxing again even in the face of danger. Ebi once again charges towards Ryu with a glowing white fist. As the fist connects, Ryu is launched again, rolling even farther this time. He tries to push himself up, but it looks like he has run out of will to battle and has fainted.

Mike recalls his fallen companion, thinking about which one he will send out next. Ebi takes this break to collapse on the ground, fully drained from using the last of her energy reserves.

The order of the posts will be as follows:

Remember, Caramelldansen is in effect; confusion for the entire next round.

Also I have a question for Rossy: if a Pokémon is confused from a move (such as Swagger or Confuse Ray) and the arena goes to Caramelldansen, would the Caramelldansen confusion overwrite the existing confusion, add onto it (so the Pokémon would have to make 2 confusion check rolls), or not apply until the move-caused one fades (so if it fades for the second attack, then the first turn it would be confused from the move but not from Caramelldansen)? I ask because I roll the Caramelldansen confusion check differently (since it's forced and can't fade), and if you say it's up to me then I will choose option two of having two confusion checks.

Sorry for disappearing for four days but I went camping and there was NO internet whatsoever but now I'm at my Dads so little internet is a must. Won't be properly around until the 17th.

While this doesn't explain why he always seems to miss this battle when he does have his spurts of internet, he is technically away and without certain approval I don't think he can be DQ'd until after his away time ends.

Unless told otherwise by a mod, I'm going to allow him five days past Tuesday the 17th, so until next Saturday the 22nd (as he posted that away message two days after you posted and should have had time to post something then) before pulling down the DQ line.

Mike, having recalled his fainted Primeape, sends out his shiny Monferno, interestingly (and aptly) named Goku. Instantly he begins holding his head from the repulsive sounds of Caramelldansen. He wondered what his trainer had gotten him into. Immediately commands were issued, and both Pokémon squared away, the fresh Monferno facing the tired Hitmonchan.

Goku runs over to Ebi to try and Torment him, but on the way over the sound of the song caused him to forget what he was doing. It also made him forget where his feet were going and he tripped on them, slamming into the ground. His fire-tail swing wildly and singed him a little, causing him to jump back to his feet quickly.

Ebi was oblivious to all of this as she had been trying to relax her body and regain energy. But the song got to her as well and she started to flail about. However, she ran out of energy and simply collapsed on the ground, breathing heavily.

Goku manages to push the song out of his head long enough to focus on his next attack. Jumping high in the air, he mimics his teammate and angles his body through the air to strike Ebi. Goku screeched to a halt and turned to watch as Ebi simply sat and relaxed again.

Suddenly Ebi jumped up and made her fist glow white. She charged at the flaming monkey she saw in front of her, and felt happy when her fist collided. But it was a short-lived happiness as her fist was once again grabbed. Goku swung her around and thenflung her straight down into the ground. He stood over her and clapped the dust from his hands.

Ebi is getting really tired on top of her low health, but when Goku comes flying at her from the sky, she manages to push her body to Endure the hit and not go out quite yet. But when she tries to take that damage and Counter it, she collapses and can't find the energy to push back.

Ebi then tries to use a Quick Attack, which she knows must be fast, but for some reason she can't figure out exactly what that move is. Unfortunately for her, Goku isn't giving her any pause, and rushes in to smash her in the face

The only reason Endure succeeded with the needing to rest is because the ASB description says it requires no energy.

1) Rossymore sends out his replacement and chooses his attacks.
2) Mike Mysterio chooses his attacks.
