Right now I am training my third team to go beat the Elite 4 and Steven and since I don't have a game shark, I can't duplicate TMs. I have Sapphire but since I don't have the GB Player and a link cable, I can't very well trade TMs.

So as of now, this is the team I am going to try to win with for the third time. Before I had Flygon, Beautifly, Hariyama, Swampert, Camerupt and Manectric win for the first time and they used some TMs up. I gave Shadow ball to Beautifly for example and Flygon got Dragon Claw.

My second team was Salamence, Dustox, Gardevoir, Breloom, walrein and Absol. They used up more Tms. But here's my plan for team 3:

Metagross: meteor mash, psychic, earthquake, light screen

    Whishcash: earthquake, amnesia, rest, surf

Zangoose: crush claw, thunderbolt, taunt/pursuit, swords dance

Altaria: dragon dance, fly, dragonbreath, refresh

Torkoal: flamethrower, iron defense, flail, body slam

Maskurain: Silver Wind, Psybeam, Stun Spore, ice beam

That's what I got planned. If there's any suggestions, let me know. I just have to level up everyone to the 50s before I take on the Elites. This is just an in game team like all my teams. I plan on using these for my other two teams:

    Team 4:

Medicham: Psychic, Hi Jump Kick, Shadow Ball/Thunder Punch/Ice Punch, Recover
    Sharpedo: Surf, Crunch, Earthquake, Return/Rest/Protect
Slaking: Bulk Up, Hyper Beam, Earthquake/Fire Blast, slash
Aggron: Iron Tail, Earthquake, Double Edge(Rock Head)/Rock Tomb, Roar
Grumpig: Calm Mind, Psychic, Magic Coat, rest
Tropius: Razor Leaf/Magical Leaf, Leech Seed, Eathquake Synthesis

    Team 5:

Banette: Shadow Ball, Return, Screech, Destiny Bond
Swellow: Wing Attack, fly, Refresh, endevour
Kecleon: Substitute, Screech, Magic Coat, Return
    Crawdaunt: swords dance, ancient power
Volbeatignal Beam, Toxic, Confuse Ray, Moonlight
    Exploud:brickbreak, Hyper voice,rest , Flamethrower

Getting low on TMs. And since I don't have a Game Shark, I can't very well compromise. So, offer any suggestions you want.

    For Altaria:

If your Flygon is male can it breed with a female Swablu for Dragon Claw? Because Dragon Claw would be very nice for Altara

Dragon Claw/Earthquake/Dragon Dance/Aerial Ace is what my Altaria has.

    Metagross looks swell.

    Whishcash = Yay

Zangoose: Never used this guy, but that looks good. I here he's a good Baton Passer though, you could consider that.

Torkoal: Hmm, Drop Flail for something.

    Maskurain: Looks alright to me.

    ^_^ Have fun.

Problem is Altaria can't learn Dragon claw as an egg move according to the Nintendo Power Pokemon R/S guide. But, thanks for the tips anyway.

But Dragon Claw is a TM...and TMs are inherited by Pokemon that are compatible with them.

Only problem is, I don't believe Trapinch and Swablu are in the same egg group.

Tms can be passed down through breeding, though.

Boy, you sure get into it! Ha! Looks like you'll have fun anyways. If you're worried about using up TMs, try breeding them onto your other pokes. And if you do teach more TMs, give them to male pokémon so they will be able to pass them on.

Remember you can breed naturally learned TMs off of pokémon too, like Aerial Ace from Swellow.

Of course, what I would do is try and get the best moveset possible only using naturally learned moves. That's a bit of a challenge sometimes, but as long as it's in-game it won't hurt you. Have fun!

Lady Kinogassa is right on both counts. If the parent has a move that's also a TM, and the baby is compatible with the TM for the move, then it will be guaranteed to be passed down. Of course, that means that Altaria will not be getting Dragon Claw through breeding, PERIOD. Swablu isn't compatible with Dragon Claw.

Also, since the Flygon family falls under the Bug breeding group (Trapinch is an antlion, after all), there's no way it'll be passing down Dragon Claw to ANYONE anytime soon.

Now, as for your TM problem... well, personally, I wouldn't bother wasting TMs on beating the Elite Four, because they're not much more than in-game trainers with semi-high level Pokémon. The things you ought to be really training for are a) the Battle Tower, which gives you good items, and b) other human players, who give you a good challenge (usually) and bragging rights if you win.

But if you're that obsessed with beating the Elite Four, and you're running low on TMs, I suggest looking into various combinations of breeding moves. There's quite a few good ones, like...

    - Breeding down Calm Mind (Medicham or Alakazam -> Spinda -> most other Pokémon)
    - Breeding down Bulk Up (Combusken -> most other Pokémon)
    - Endure + Reversal\Counter Blaziken (Vigoroth -> Torchic)
    - Cross Chop Hariyama (Machamp -> Makuhita)
    - Earthquake (Barboach -> Wailmer -> most other Pokémon)
    - Recover Sableye (Kadabra -> Sableye)

Check out White Cat's 'Dex for others.
