Okay, Falchion. Since you're a Steel-type you're immune to Toxic, so we can just ignore that. Give Shiva a a nasty Taunting to stop her other two attacks; then, while she sits there and fumes, use Swords Dance and then go in for a Drill Peck.

Round 001

Arena:
Apparently Adrenaline likes the ref's fallback arena as well, only he's souped it up to be a super-sized arena of grass and dirt. There are some trees visible on the horizon, but they're ridiculously far away.

The arena was calm and desolate until a small, unusual sound occurred. The ref and his newly-evolved Gallade appeared out of nowhere. They look around, find the ref's box floating above the arena, then with another small sound they disappeared only to reappear inside the box.

Adrenaline and Phoenixsong had a much less dramatic entrance, both of them simply walking into the field. After an agreement of terms, they both released their first Pokémon and issued commands to start the battle.

Shiva begins to prepare a glob of poison, but Falchion starts flapping around in a taunting manner. Shiva suddenly stopped gathering poison, getting infuriated. With a rush of energy she charged at Falchion, knocking into the giant steel bird. Falchion looks intrigued that the hit hurt as much as it did, as she had expected her hard shell to buffer it.

Shrugging it off, Falchion does a little dance, summoning little energy swords around her. As she danced, these swords started sharpening her edges, pumping her attack, before disappearing completely. Shiva knows she's supposed to Swagger at Falchion, but the taunting image is still fresh in her mind and she charges the bird again instead of following her command. She connects, but doesn't hit quite as directly this time.

Falchion, figuring she's prepared enough, charges energy around her beak, causing a small shell of a beak to appear that spins wildly. She takes one look at the Eevee below her and pecks at her. Shiva gets hit hard, but she rebounds and, rather than using the Substitute she was told to use, charges in for another attack like the last one.

Ah, sorry. Considering how often my own name is misspelled around here, you'd think I'd be more careful. Duly noted. ^^; And yes, Falchion is female.

Okay, then, Falchion. One more Swords Dance and then use Fly to get yourself up in the air and avoid whatever Shiva tries to do; dive back down afterward and ram into her with all you've got. If you don't think you can hit her then just use Swords Dance again.

Falchion starts off the second round by dancing, and another group of energy swords appear that sharpen her edges, pumping up her attack some more. The newly-renamed Reilly tries to Swagger, but not even a new name can make her forget the taunting that Falchion gave her. With a rush of anger, she charges the metal bird once more, dealing some more damage.

Falchion decides she needs to get away from this crazy Eevee that keeps ramming into her, and flies high up into the sky. High enough that when Reilly finally clears her head of the taunting and sends out a large Yawn, Falchion is too far away to even notice that's what the Eevee did.

With Reilly standing out in the open, Falchion sees a nice opening and turns her height into speed, ramming into the little Eevee and knocking her back. Reilly responds by hopping back up and gathering a large glob of shadows which she forms into a ball before hurling it at Falchion. Falchion takes the hit, but her steel body reflects some of it. She looks around, happy with the results of that round.

Falchion holds off on her attack, waiting for what her trainer said. Sure enough, the little Eevee decides to make a few copies of herself, and soon 4 Eevees are staring back at Falchion. Falchion smirks slightly and uses her acute senses to swipe through each of the clones, eventually hitting the real Eevee.

Seemingly undeterred, Reilly does a repeat act, this time adding another couple so six Eevees are dancing around. Falchion doesn't even flinch and tears through the clones once more, but can't put as much energy into each one and doesn't knock Reilly back quite as much.

Quickly turning around, Falchion makes her wings even harder than normal and slices into Reilly before she can react properly. With a cry, the Eevee rolls around again, before getting up and summoning her Hidden Power. A small ball of energy appears, then gets larger as it turns to black. Reilly hurls it at Falchion, who takes the hit again.

Falchion hurtles towards Reilly, striking her hard before anything else can happen. Reilly takes the hit and responds by diving down into the ground, throwing grass and dirt all over the place.

Falchion's not sure how to take the whole hole thing. Reilly, down in her hole, puts up a protective screen in anticipation of another attack. This put up a small sparkle above ground which the antsy Falchion charges at. Unfortunately it was wasted energy as there was nothing there to attack.

With a huge burst of energy, Reilly digs back up to the surface, attempting to hit the flying-by Falchion. Unfortunately for her, Falchion just flies up a little bit and easily avoids the attack. She then turns and counters the attempt with another accurate flying blow.

Don't beat yourself up over it, Adrenaline; everyone's new once. Just slow down a little, take the time to remember your opponent's typing, maybe glance at their possible moves every once in a while. It all comes with practice. If it's any consolation, the health and energy are actually a lot closer than you'd normally expect given a match-up like this, so either I'm doing something wrong or you're doing something right. ^^

Reilly starts pulling the power from inside her again, conjuring up the special Dark-type attack. She gets a bit distracted by some darker thoughts forced into her mind by Falchion, however, and her mind gets filled with those thoughts. Fortunately they don't interfere at the moment and Reilly launches off her power, striking Falchion for some moderate damage.

Falchion is suddenly right on top of Reilly, some poison ooze forming in her mouth. Before Reilly can react, Falchion dumps the gunk right on top of her. Reilly cringes as the poison seeps into her, but bounces back and goes to attack. Unfortunately as she tries to attack with her Hidden Power again, the voices in her head start screaming at her, and in an attempt to get them to shut up she bashes herself in the head...a little too hard. The small twinge of poison doesn't help either.

Falchion, quite amused at the little creature, lands and starts to relax, restoring some lost energy. Reilly, however, has gotten over her little voices stint for the time and manages to pull up her power again, launching another orb at Falchion, who wasn't expecting it but brushes it off.

Falchion starts off by yelling some insults and the like at Reilly. She's heard most of them before, but there were some rather horrible new phrases that made her fly into a rage. Conjuring up some more shadows, Reilly forms them into a ball. She launches it into Falchion, just as the poison in her body hurts her a little.

Falchion is taking a small break from fighting, letting her body relax to regain some energy. Reilly takes her chance and conjures up her Hidden Power once again, slamming the dark orb of energy into Falchion. She feels a pressure lifted from her as the tormenting voices leave her. The poison in her isn't leaving, though.

Falchion doesn't seem to mind as she continues relaxing to regain some energy. Reilly however can't stop attacking, and doesn't seem to want to as she conjures yet more shadows into a ball. The ball is launched and hits Falchion, who takes it once more. Reilly, however, is forced to take more damage from her poison.

Falchion starts off with another spiral of energy around her beak, dashing in to strike Reilly down once more. Reilly takes a tumble before righting herself and collecting a large glob of shadows. She hurls the newly-formed ball at Falchion, who takes the hit with out much complaining. Reilly's a bit annoyed at her poison, though.

Falchion turns and keeps her beak drilling with energy as she flies towards Reilly again.. Reilly, however, gets right back on the ball with her next attack—a ball of Dark energy, that is. She fires off another sphere of her Hidden Power, which also smacks into Falchion without fazing her. Falchion simply continues to dive in with another powered up drilling, knocking the poor Eevee into the dirt again. Her poison doesn't help her condition much.

Reilly springs up, but she's definitely looking worse for the wear. She starts to collect more shadows for her third attack, but Falchion dives in before she gets a chance to form it. Reilly goes for a much longer tumble, and when she finishes, she lies there, unable to get up. It looks like Falchion has bested the small creature.

Frederick starts his new appearance with a huge flaming shape. Falchion tries to dodge, but the fire is all-encompassing and overtakes her, taking advantage of her weakness. As the fire passes, she shakes it off and makes taunting motions and noises at Frederick, who gets infuriated.

Falchion quickly switches to a different method of torture and begins to fill Frederick's mind with tormenting thoughts. Caught unaware by the intrusion, he can't help but fall prey to the dark thoughts in his head. Fortunately his next move isn't blocked by the thoughts and he charges an electric ball and flings it at Falchion. It smacks into her, taking advantage of her other weakness, but not doing nearly as much damage as the fire.

Falchion starts charging at Frederick, her wings coated in a buggy energy. Frederick launches another huge burst of flame at her as she comes in. Her attempts to dodge fail and she charges right through, straining to make it all the way. She manages to get through the entirety of the fire, coming in to land in front of Frederick. With a fury matching the flames she just tore through, she slashes her Bug-charged wings at Frederick, knocking him backwards.
