    3vs3 One at a time
    One week DQ
    Banned Moves: Non-damaging recovery moves, Toxic, Attract, Captivate, Perish Song, Endeavour, Metal Burst, Destiny Bond, Grudge, and Memento
    I send first, opponent attacks
    Arena A white sandy beach with a turquois-green ocean and all the beach type stuff, 2 umbrellas and 2 beach balls and a volleyball net, and 2 surf boards.

    Anyone interested? I'll start with Jade, my female Ralts!

    I'd like to battle you again, if I may. Being as I'm only in one other battle at the moment, I figured a rematch with you would suffice for now.

    I'll decide on my first choice later.

    Edit: Alright, my first choiice will be Celeste, my shiny female Cleffa.

    Can we agree not to use any recovery moves (except for ones that damage the opponent), Toxic, Attract, Captivate, Perish Song, Endeavour, Metal Burst, Destiny Bond, Grudge, and Memento please?

    Begin the battle by Singing at Jade, then if you get her asleep, give her a Nightmare, followed by a painful Shadow Ball to her middle, or if she isn't asleep, either Snatch her Safeguard if she put one up, or use your own Safeguard if she didn't put one up, finally, use a Shadow Ball.

    Sing ~ Nightmare (if she fell asleep)/Snatch (if she uses Safeguard first)/Safeguard (if she didn't put one up) ~ Shadow Ball

    Okay, Jade, Taunt her before she can finish her song. If she puts you to sleep, Snore and then Sleep Talk. If not, you Snatch her Safeguard. Finally end with Icy Wind!

    Just as long as you don't state both/all your Pokemon too early, like last time. That's just a possible recipe for disaster if you're battling someone experienced. I hate to take advantage of people's mistakes here, but sometimes, I still overcome ones I made myself.

    Well, this time around I'm not bringing out any of my second or third stage Pokemon, since you restarted, I think using basics and non-evolvers will suffice here.

    Round 001

    Arena:
    Ahh, a nice relaxing day on the beach. Perfectly white sand, clear blue water, even a few chairs and umbrellas set up. There even seems to be a volleyball net, how perfect! The ref wonders if someone will come to play...

    Metallixs Girl walks onto the beach carrying a beach ball; maybe she's here to play? But no, it seems she's here to battle as Knight of Time comes around a dune, Pokéballs in hand. MG smiles at him, remembering old times as she sends out her Pokémon, a female Ralts named Jade. KoT then picks one of his Pokéballs and releases Celeste, his small, female Cleffa.

    The air suddenly changes as both trainers go into battle mode, calling out attacks. And here the ref was hoping for a nice day off. Oh well, since he's here he's gonna stick around and do what he does.

    Celeste smiles as the round starts and starts to sing a lovely lullaby. But she's interrupted by some rather loud noises. Despite trying to drown them out, some rather nasty insults about her mother gets her too riled up and she runs over and gives Jade a rather large slapping.

    Calming down slightly, Celeste ignores Jade's preparatory stance and thinks about her next attack. Jade isn't asleep, and she's not putting up a Safeguard, so she knows she should put up a Safeguard of her own. But just looking at that Ralts gets her riled up now and she charges at Jade with some weird headbutt/tackle combo. Jade stands up, looking confused; wasn't there supposed to be something to Snatch?

    Jade ignores this and starts searching inside for something. Celeste, however, is searching around her for something, namely some shadows. Thinking smartly, she hops over to one of the umbrellas and draws from the shadow that it leaves on the sand, gathering it into a large ball. She turns and sees Jade summoning a blast of wind, so she quickly launches the ball of shadows which simply drives through the wind, unhindered, to smash into Jade. Unfortunately that means that the wind flies true and hits Celeste, chilling her body to be a bit slower.

    All right, Jade, use a Double Team, first of all, then Will'O Wisp, while you have the oppertunity, and make that burn hurt more with a Fire Punch!

    Celeste, bring the clones down with a Shock Wave, then Dig into the sand to dodge the Will-O-Wisp, finally, take out your Frustration on her the moment you pop out of the sand, or, if Dig is reffed as taking two actions, use your second part of the move to hurl a large amount of sand/dirt in her face as you come back up.

    Jade starts by trying to confuse Celeste by making copies of herself. Jade smiles proudly when she manages to make five whole clones, so six Ralts are now staring down Celeste. Unfazed, Celeste charges up her body with a weird electricity and fires it off. It splits up into six balls, with one being noticeably larger. All of the electric balls tear towards the Ralts, homing in on them; the largest ball collides with the real Jade, but it doesn't seem to hurt her much. However, the other balls rip into the clones, disrupting them all, much to Jade's annoyance.

    She takes that annoyance and starts to form a blueish-white flame in front of her. Taking aim, she hurls it at Celeste, melting the ice along the way. Celeste tries to avoid it by digging into the ground in preparation for her next attack. However, even though the sand is very easy to dig through, she's not fast enough to completely avoid it and gets a slight burn on her side, which hurts her.

    Slightly angrier, Celeste tears through the sand towards where she knows Jade is. She pops out of the sand behind the surprised Ralts and proceeds to unleash her anger out on Jade. Not feeling particularly angry, she doesn't do that much, but Jade still gets hurt. Immediately Jade turns around and charges her fist with fire, hitting Celeste right in the side. It's a lucky hit for Jade as the burn seems to worsen just a bit.

    I can see this may be a long battle...but, VirtualPlay, how come Celeste's physical attack went down another grade after the burn was worsened by Fire Punch? I'm a little confused, but I wish I could have an answer please, that is, before I post moves again.

    Because the burn worsened and so the attack got lowered further. More burn pain = more distraction = less attack power. However, after checking exactly how Burn works in-game, I've decided to lower it, since the attack loss from burn is the equivalent of two attack points lost (and Will-O-Wisp just grazed Celeste to not do as much of a burn, and Fire Punch didn't add that much more).

    Okay, thanks.

    Alright Celeste, time for some payback.

    Blast Jade with another Shadow Ball, then since the Taunt should be over by then, hit her with a constricting Thunder Wave, finally, use Shadow Ball again.

    Subs:

    If she uses Double Team again, use your own Icy Wind to make her and her clones feel the chill.

    Or, if she tries to use another status-changing move, Safeguard yourself if you can (in the case of Hypnosis, close your eyes and turn away), otherwise, Dig out of the way, and come up under her hard.

    Okay, Jade, we've got her slowed and hurting! Time for some Special Defense, with a Light Screen. You are faster than her right now, I think, so try and Safeguard before you get paralysed. End with a Zen Headbutt!

    There are a couple holes in the sand where Celeste dug through it. One of the umbrellas is slightly singed, and there's a light breeze coming in from the ocean that's slowly covering the holes of Celeste's digging.

    Celeste still has a lingering annoyance from the Taunt, and she fuels that into a new ball of shadows pulled from the umbrella. She forms it and launches it at Jade, but the damage gets dampened by a screen of light that Jade put up. Jade takes the hit and falls back. It's not as bad as it would've been, but the ball still hurts, and Jade feels her defenses weakening a bit.

    Jade quickly gets up and coats herself again, this time with a starry veil. Not noticing, Celeste is charging her body with a small bit of electricity. She fires off the electric waves at Jade. They permeate the screen, but are completely repelled by the new veil that Jade has up.

    Ready to go on the offensive, Jade charges forward, her head glowing a bluish-white color. She rams into Celeste, who gets knocked back into a tumble. She manages to steady herself, focusing hard to not fall off-balance. She then pulls together another ball of shadows in front of her, drawing from the chair she landed next to. She launches it through the dampening shield, hitting Jade again. It feels slightly more painful, but not enough to really notice thanks to the Screen.

    Celeste feels the pain as her burn reminds her that its there. Of course, if nobody's careful, they'll all get sunburns.

    Okay Celeste, I think we ought to put some distance between you and Jade, so let's do it!

    Safeguard yourself, then do your best to fight off that Psychic before using a defense lowering/attack maxing Belly Drum, finally, use that maxed attack (if it is maxed, that is) to smack her extra hard with a close range Iron Tail!

    VirtualPlay, incase you're wondering, I learned about how Belly Drum works here in the battle I had with MLG when I was trying my luck at becoming a GL, despite my failure there, I still learned something from it, as itmakes me so glad it doesn't reduce the user's health by 50%.

    Jade gets ready to go by charging her fist with electricity. Celeste is busy putting up a starry veil and doesn't notice Jade until she's in her face with an electric punch. Celeste falls back, but her veil completely prevented any chance of paralysis.

    Jade wastes no time in continuing her attacks and draws from her psionic energy and launches a huge Psychic blast that makes Celeste tumble through the sand a bunch, kicking up sand all over the place. As she comes to a rest, she suddenly beats really hard on her belly. While not actually doing any damage, the action has turned off any chance of defense Celeste had; in exchange, her whole body gets pumped up full of attack power, as high as she can push it.

    Jade doesn't really notice, as she's pulling in yet another icy breeze, turning it into a harsh wind. Celeste can't help but get hit, slowing her down even more. Fortunately she doesn't need a whole lot of speed as she waddles over to Jade, stiffening her tail with metal. As Jade calms down from her icy blast, she gets hit across her front with a horribly-hard tail, fueled by Celeste's recent drumming.

    Alright Celeste, that round had its ups and downs with Belly Drum being used, but if we play our cards just right, we can capitalize.

    Slam your tail once more into Jade with as much force as you can manage with another Iron Tail, arcing it quickly incase she uses Double Team, then use a Facade on her, finish up with a Return.

    Subs:

    Counter any physical moves you may be faced with.

    Or, if she tries to create clones or copy your attack boost, Snatch them or it away. Even if snatching a stat-boost does you nothing stats-wise, at least it should stop her from gaining your boosts...if she dares try to get them for herself.

    Jade, try a Teleport into the wet sand by the water (and away from her tail), and when Celeste comes at you, Mud Slap her in the face and then set yourself up a nice Reflect!!

    Celeste starts out by coating her tail again with more metal, then runs as fast as she can towards Jade. As she launches herself tail-first, Jade suddenly disappears, causing Celeste to land in the sand. Celeste looks around and spots Jade over near the ocean line, standing in the wet sand.

    With her first attack failed, Celeste goes on and tries to use her next move. As she runs towards Jade, she suddenly gets a face-full of mud, slightly blinding her. Refusing to stop, she continues moving and ends up connecting with Jade, fueling her attack with her burn and raised attack.

    Jade shows that she really did not like that last hit, and keeps the damage down by putting up a screen of physical protection. Celeste is trying to clear her eyes, and the shining screen helps her locate Jade. Unfortunately it also muffles her attack as she charges into Jade, powered what happiness she has.

    Jade's other barrier decides to break into nothingness, as Celeste reels back from the pain of her burn.

    Celeste, I want you to face Jade (with your eyes closed, that is), and blast that Mud-Slap back at her with a Water Pulse straight ahead, then keep your eyes closed during the Hypnosis while using a Swift, finally, if Jade isn't down, Dig underground to dodge the Thunder Wave, and subsequently smack her from behind when she least expects it.

    Edit: Darn it, Cleffa cannot learn Swift...looks like I'm going to pay for my mistake unless Jade falls, in which it won't matter then.

    Edit2: VirtualPlay, just wondering, but how do you ref a situation where a Pokemon's energy goes to 0%, do you have it faint from exhaustion, force it to use its first two moves in the following round to relax, or have it take 1 health for each 1 energy it uses? Preferably, I like the third one, the first doesn't appeal to me too much.

    Jade balls up some more mud and slaps it at Celeste. Celeste tries to get off a ring of water to block it, but she can't get it fast enough and gets hit in the face with more mud. Despite having her eyes closed, the mud still sticks to her face and clouds her vision some. Irritated, she gets the water she needs and pushes it at Jade, knocking her back.

    Jade collects herself, then starts firing off hypnotic waves. Unfortunately the sun must have been too bright in her face because the waves fly off too high to hit Celeste. Celeste goes to use Swift, but unfortunately doesn't know that move and looks back at her trainer with a questioning look.

    Unfortunately, her distraction costs her as Jade recovers and fires off a small burst of electricity. Celeste goes to dive into the ground, but she's not fast enough and her body gets struck with spasms. Celeste focuses, keeping her muscles calm, then pushes her body to the limit as she dives into the ground; the soft sand makes it easier, but she still uses a lot of energy to quickly burrow towards Jade. With a huge eruption, Jade gets knocked forward as Celeste bursts out right beneath her.

    Jade lands on one of the beach chairs, cushioning her fall. Unfortunately, she doesn't have the energy to get up again and stays lying on the chair. Celeste, meanwhile, is still dealing with her burn, but she manages to take the time to clear some of the mud from her face.

    When a Pokémon reaches too low an energy level to use a move, they will either do a partial move (if they have enough for that) or they will be forced to relax; I leave it up to the trainer to realize when their Pokémon needs to relax or face the consequences. I do not faint upon 0% Energy, nor do I convert 1 HP into 1 EN; the only time I do either of those is when I sub-ref for a ref that does (like when I subbed for CEB, who uses the 1 HP for 1 EN method). Also, I restore 6 EN when a Pokémon relaxes.

    The order of the posts will be:
    1) Metallixs Girl sends out her replacement.
    2) Knight of Time chooses his attacks.
    3) Metallixs Girl chooses her attacks.

    Um, one thing that has me perplexed about Pichu is Surf...can someone (e.g. a mod, or VirtualPlay) elaborate on if it's legal to use here? IIRC Surf is a NYCPC move (and those are illegal, right), as well as a Pokemon Box move; anyway, are Pokemon Box moves legal or not?

    If it's legal, it may have an impact on what Pokemon I'll use next.

    Oh it is? I know nothing about NYC and Serebii Dex just called it a special attack. I'd like to know for sure too. ^^ And to save time, if I'm not allowed to use it, then I'd like Topaz to just use Rain Dance and 2 Thunders.

    I'm going to wait until a mod approves them, but until then I will not allow them in this battle. Even if a mod says they can, this battle will be exempt from that rule. It's only fair, seeing as Cleffa can actually learn Swift from the NYCPC, yet I reffed it as though she couldn't learn it.

    Would be nice if they can, though, since Sneasel learns Moonlight from the NYCPC...I think if I ever go to NYC again that I must visit the PC there...

    However, Pichu learning Surf is from Box, not NYCPC, and I don't know if they're banned or not. A mod or experienced player will have to inform me.

    Box moves are not banned, since everyone can get those in real life. NYPC moves are limited to people living over there, so not everyone can get them, so they are banned here aswell.

    To make things short: Box yes, NYPC no.

    So, Pichu learning Surf via box is allowed.

    Now if you'll excuse I have to go and water my cloud-eating socks.
