WO your dissertation was only 10,000 Words? Jesus, mine is gonna be 250 pages, which ends up equating to like 83,000 words...I hate my History degree...

Also, why did this subject of the post length rule suddenly become a heated argument? No need to be dropping F-bombs and getting angry about it. EFCS only asked if it was a fashion or an unwritten rule, not for what we THOUGHT of it.

If you're going to post your opinion, please do so, but leave out all the extra "flair" (curse words, flaming, etc)

I don't have to write a dissertation (yet) but I'm told it will also be 10,000 words. And I will have to decorate it. In a graphic-designer-packaged artsy-fartsy way. Delightful.

Of course, not a patch on 83,000 words.

P.S. kirkle, have been rereading Discworld and by association VV fanfic. WHY IS THERE NOT MORE FANFIC FOR THIS COUPLE aside from the fact that one of the V's is happily married with a child?

2: I know, right?! There's like... five stories. We shall have to swap links, cos you might have dug up more than I have.

Bear: It was my third year uni dissertation, only for my BA, so that's why it was 10,000. It actually came to 43 pages, heh, but that's cos the stupid rule is to double space every freaking page, and I had about ten of typed out quotes in the appendix. XD

This is going to be my dissertation for my PhD in bioinformatics/neural computation degree. I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.


I wonder if I can count different genomes as different words... AGGGATTCTTTCAAAAG

Now that I think about it it doesn't matter how long a dissertation is as long as people like it and I get published. :V

PS. LOL ChikoSai. Its ok I haven't exactly been overproductive working on that project either. :<
