Future Tournaments

I want to start off by saying that Andrew has done a amazing job with the SSBB tournament.

So it got me thinking, what would you guys think of doing tournaments for other games. Obviously more people here have the Wii than any other system, so there could be tournaments based on Mario Kart, Madden, Call of Duty, or any number of other games. If we can get 4 or more we could expand this to other systems such as the 360 or the PS3, and of course there are always DS tournament we could run.

So I wanted to ask those, what kind of other tournaments would you like to see? And if possible would you want tournaments to become a regular occurrence on the forums, possibly even having a ranking section on the website. Then again I am just throwing out ideas here.

Mario Kart would likely be about the only one you'd garner significant interest in. Not that many Madden ballers on TPM.

I wouldn't mind a Mario Strikers tourney, but I don't know how successful that would be. God I miss the days when people played that online, no matter how cheap they were.

Well if I was able to get a used PS3 anytime in the near future then I'd be all over matches for Madden and Metal Gear Solid Online.

Apart from PC games, and even then they would have to be pretty old as I only have a pretty mediocre laptop at the moment, I can't do anything else at the moment. I'll have a 4 week window over Christmas where I could partake in some Wii game tournaments, depending on the game.

SSBB is the only Wii wifi game I have but if enough people are interested, I'll buy Mario Kart. And the Wii is the only current console I have so I can't participate in anything else

I can't afford any games so it'd have to be one that I already have. That is, Brawl and Mario Kart DS. Otherwise, I'll have to sit on the sidelines.

You should expect worse from me than that. Everyone who's talked to me online knows that I hate sports and the sports genre. I haven't even touched a football game since Madden on the Genesis, and even then I didn't know what the hell I was doing! So please don't get me on a rant on how I don't get why people take American football so seriously!

Team Fortress 2 on the PS3. You PC "enthusiasts" won't last 5 minutes in an atmosphere devoid of compression blasts, stun hits, Sandviches, Huntsmen, Jarate, rechargeable cloaks, HP- and Uber-accumulating weapons, or Dead Ringers, where rockets and Demo bombs of both varieties fly by the dozens, flamethrowers have shorter ranges than most melee weapons, and Soldiers can dominate half the classes with a single rocket aimed down and a Sentry around a corner is untouchable by 70% of classes. I'll take on every last one of you alone.
