Okay, for the few Donators we have out there, I have made the Luxury Ball. There are two different versions with a differently-placed red stripe so people can decide which one looks better.



My personal vote goes towards the second because it doesn't look like an egg…

Also, the one problem I have with Gabi's Great Ball is the right tab looks like it's painted on and not actually popping up from the sphere.

EDIT: So I made an attempt at a quick-fix on the right tab of Gabi's. (You did a freaking good job on the left tab, though; I was having so much trouble with that one…)

That pretty much sums it up. Sprite editing can range from simple things such as recolors, can get moderately in the middle if your editing an existing sprite and the finally proceed into getting hard if your doing something 100% from scratch. In all cases it's fairly time consuming and even a simple recolor tends to quickly fall into the realm of trial and error as some things will work well on the first or second try, or can take as many as 10 tries to look halfway decent.

I myself recently started to do this as creative outlet for the times when I really don't have much else to do. Check out my Goku edits in fanart if you guys haven't already. Considering I haven't been doing it very long I think they turned out fairly decent looking.

As far as the Pokéballs go I attempted to try my hand at them but they turned out to be surprisingly complex and included a much wider range of colors (and in a much smaller area) than the Goku examples above. You'd be surprised at the subtle changes some of these things have once you blow them up to 1000% magnification. In any case since I've got a subpar computer and program for editing it was somewhat out of my league.

In the future however if I keep practicing then once I have a better computer I'd be more than willing to see what I may be able to come up with to help out if we ever need a simple recolor of an icon, smilie, ect.

On another note I had an idea for Video Games but I say ditch my idea in favor of keeping a Pokémon theme going. Perhaps one of our artists can perhaps draw a Pokémon playing with a DS, holding a Wiimote, PS3 controler, ect ^_~

Might need some touching up, but I quickly made a Premium Ball for Website Contributors (if Gabi decides to create such a category). It's different from Donators in that these people contribute stuff other than money.

GD/Misc: A small group of Pokémon or trainers talking.

Binary District: Porygon line at a computer.

AG + subforums: Legendaries from the respective games.

Classic: Mewtwo, Mew, Celebi

OPG: Pokémon playing Pokémon on a GCN/Wii

TCG: Pokémon at a TCG table; alternatively, if this evolves to Tabletop Games, have it be cards and dice

VG: Pokémon playing the current gen systems

Pokémon Anime/Manga: Ash and Red

Other Anime/Manga: characters from popular Anime/Manga, i.e. Goku, Ed Elric, etc.

ASB: a scene from a Pokébattle, complete with trainers

FanFiction: Pokémon writing on paper and/or typing on computer

FanArt: Smeargle painting with tail, Jigglypuff drawing with marker

RPG: Pokémon dressed up in medieval or futuristic clothing

PCG: I like the Pichu on a poll paper; that or something like it

Archives: Pokémon at a filing cabinet

The unfortunate thing about any real sprites from the games nowadays is they're either too large or too small. I mean, the animated Box sprites are programmed at 32x32 like the current icons, but they don't take up the whole space. For comparison:

I'm doing the smilies and they will all have white when they are done. (When I originally submitted them, they had white, but someone didn't do the transparency correctly (it wasn't me because I only had paint at the time).

I too loved the Butterfree one. Most of the forum specific images should be still in the archives somewhere. I know RPG is and I distinctly remember seeing the Fanfic one previously. I think polls one is somewhere as well and the GSC one. The archive site has been a bitch lately and my internet is super slow so I've been having trouble finding them. But they're most certainly there somewhere.

I do have ideas for fan art and fanfics for the website. But I shall keep my mouth shut about anything to do with the site until I have content up that I promised months ago.
