So you guys went crazy and we LOVE it! You guys collaborated and came up with many many suggestions for what could be the name of the newly formatted Ezine. Which makes my heart swell with pride . I love you guys.

I prefer abstract names for this. Think about some of the most successful magazines of our day. From Time and People to Vogue and Cosmopolitan, it just works. Granted, a few high-profile magazines have more specific names (e.g. Better Homes and Gardens, Game Informer Magazine, and Good Housekeeping), but the ones that immediately come to mind when you think of the "best" magazines fall into the abstract category. In any case, I'm of the belief that for a writing magazine in particular, an abstract title is better.

As for why The Golden Pen is at the top of my list... while it's abstract, it still holds specific significance to our forum in particular. That makes us stand out, I think.

I agree with Brian's reasoning. I like the idea of an abstract name.

Spark - 3 points.
Muse - 2 points.
Compose - 1 point.

Muse makes me think immediately of the band, but it still works as a title: we muse as writers, and also, the contents of the e-zine might help us find "a muse" for our art.

Or we could be like: "Have you seen the latest Muse?" (cause it sounds like news, get it? [/awful punnage])

On balance, though ... maybe Spark sounds like a more catchy title for a publication? More memorable and fresh and electric.

I am going to be mightily biased and vote Muse for my first choice. :p Then Spark, then Opus. I like one-word names. The Golden Pen does have significance, but I'd get confused between the awards and the e-zine.

My imagination and passion is not flared up by any of these names though. They've all rather been done before. Most of these names make the e-zine sound like its trying to be cool, like a wannabie skater-punk.

Pokemasters Gazette if anything, not Fanfic Gazette. We're trying to create something for the whole site to enjoy, and on top of that we've been adding more "outside" fanfic stuff, have we? Yesh, I do believe so.

I dunno, I'm listening to Christmas music.
