^-^ I plan to finish writing all my fanfictions, increase my speed and productivity at every day tasks, and I dunno! I feel like I should add more to it ^-^ I can feel that this year will be good
Actually write something and see it through to the finish without wanting to take whatever I just wrote and kill it with fire.
Hopefully get around to more reading, too.
...and other real-lifey-type stuff which I have already forgotten! This does not bode well!

I decided to take some action on reviving this Fanfic Chat thread. I'm not found of the idea of 'I'm back'-idea in Misc, somehow, because I'm still unsure. Anyways...
Hello TPM!! I feel honoured about Where in the world is Mikachu Yukitatsu?! thread and I feel very sorry for making you all so worried. I was taking too many projects last autumn and my condition went awful. Heck, it had been 1 year since the last school shooting here in Finland! I had to go to Visala (the mental hospital in my town) and was pretty much unable to post at TPM.
I still have no internet connection in my own computer, which I believe is the best for me right now. My timetable is new, and I won't post every single day as I used to. Anyhow...
POSTAILEMISIIN!
(Till some) postings!/Post you later!
I AM SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU AND HEAR FROM YOU AGAIN MIKACHU!
Did you see the thread we had ages ago about where you went? Ah you were missed!!!!
Whats everyone up to lately?

And hopefully working in Sydney after that
All working for different magazines/publications, some are paid. I'm going to start a travel blog when things kick off but that wont be for a couple months.

I noticed the thread in question, and felt honored about it. And I feel also so honored with everyone giving me warm welcomes throughout the forum.
I have had to start some things all over again, including TPM, in a way. Right now I'm not taking too many extra tasks, but still, I would like to be able to teach Japanese, play videogames, play Pokemon, and stuff without risking my mental health once again.
How do you feel? Are you getting better? Do you think that you have made progress in your mental health issues? You do whatever you need to do to get well, I'm just happy that you're still around!

Oh yes I feel way better. Just some trouble with my medication. I do take my medicine without question, but I must consult my doctor in regards to that because I have this side effect, my hands are shaking. It may disappear in the long run too, I think.
I'm so glad I made it out from the hospital quickly enough, a few more weeks and I'd have became too institutionalized (hopefully I use the correct word, I had to use Google translator!). I was there for 5 months anyway.
Wow, it's been awhile, Fanfic. How goes it for everyone on this side?

So you're working in a team? I'm interested as well.
Fanfic forum has got a bit quiet lately. I actually have one project going on as well, but I won't reveal too much details yet. The simple reason is that I want to make sure if I actually am able to finish it.
But I say it's going to be an illustrated story based on a comic I made in 2007.
I made a blog for it a few weeks ago, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to advertise it here, so I'll just give out a few tasty details. =3
It's about three less-than-stellar crimefighters known as the Goodwill Heroes (I'll get to the name later). At first, there're only three of them -- a snazzy mutton-chop sporting hero who enchants his foes with the power of jazz, a 70's porn magician, and a mute ninja -- but as time goes on, the team begins to grow.

Hi guys! Long time no see. I've been working as a sports anchor/reporter for the last 3 years, and I thought I would show you guys some of my work. Here's the link to my resume.

i know i love doing sports! it's just no money if you're not in a big market. and i've applied a TON to bigger cities but I can't get in. too competitive. if any of you hear of anything let me know.
also, sports anchor life is pretty volatile. i have a girlfriend in arizona who has done long-distance with me for 2 years. the way my job goes, i could be here for even longer, or move around all the time for the next several years, and make a terrible salary. i'd like to have a family someday. so it's time to get trained for a well-paying stable job. as long as i can be with her i'll be happy.
Martin: So cool to see you around here again, and yes, I realise I'm a month late, but wow ... how cool to see you on TV as a sports anchor! Totes impressed, man.
Well it's been awhile since I've posted here. I've been checking on fanfic daily as usual, but over the past few months (since mid-April, actually) my posting and actual activity has dried up and withered until now.
I feel like I owe an explanation to fanficcers in general, so basically the reasons are mostly to do with working full-time and getting a new house and starting up a french radio show.
Having said that, while that kept me busy enough physically, my headspace was also very occupied. In mid-April I gave up alcohol, a substance that I've been binge drinking since I was sixteen and it finally started to catch up with me in terms of my self-medicating, drinking alone, self-destructing and basically beginning to lose my shit and go off the rails, so it was time to give it up outright. Of course, sobriety after five years of using alcohol to solve problems is difficult ... not only did I have to change all my habits, particularly going clubbing, I also had to face everything that I had been resisting and running from, which takes a lot out of you.
Long story short, it's been a very long and interesting five months and two days since I stopped drinking, but it's also been extremely insular and I've unconsciously withdrawn from lots of social contact, including, it seems, TPM; I've been something of a hermit and reluctant to interact with anyone, reluctant to speak.
I suppose the reason I'm saying this (at risk of, I guess, embarrassing myself with too much private detail) is because it's the true reason, as opposed to just the full-time job, that I've been absent and allowed the forum to grow progressively less active without injecting any life into it: because I lacked the capacity to do it mentally. The same factors stopped me from progressing with Lisa the Legend. And so, I feel like I owe an honest explanation to the members here for my five months of ineffectiveness, and I hope I can rectify that.
So ... those be the facts of what I've been up to the past few months. Feels good to actually get it off my chest.

I also have not written very much since then, and have become a physics nerd. But I was thinking about TPM last night, and it scares me that I haven't visited for a year. It's crazy that I haven't talked to people on this forum for a year, that I used to talk to regularly. So hi! But what scares me even more is that writing, which I used to take for granted as a hobby, doesn't occupy a place in my immediate thoughts any more. Where did that part of me go? I hope to retrieve it soon...
The main reason for my absence has been my exchange in Japan. I've been living and studying here since September, and it's been mad, mad times. Lots of banging my head against the desk when I don't understand a word the physics professors are saying, and lots of last-minute presentation preparation and report-writing. Some frustration when people insist on treating you as a foreigner. But while I've worked hard, I've played even harder. Kyoto is so beautiful in all seasons, and I've loved going to different temples to see the autumn leaves and the snow. Of course, meeting people from different nations has been amazing. And there's the crazy karaoke. But it does mean that I don't have much time to procrastinate on TPM nowadays. I return home in February, so you may see more of me then, but I make no promises... I've learned.
It's good to see some old faces here still. Martin, I hope that you've got a well-paying, stable job, and that you and your girlfriend can be together more. Gavin, I admire your courage in owning up to your issues on a public forum, but even more for managing to stay sober for so long. Please don't apologise for withdrawing from social contact. Y'know that cheesy song about how the greatest love of all is to love yourself? To be a good friend, first you have to be happy with yourselfAnd we want you to be happy with yourself. On a brighter note, congrats on the new villa! Hope you and your partner are having great times.

m...m...m-mistysakura...? I really did think you were dead or something!!!1!!!
Good that you're enjoying Japan, I would.
Hey Ada, it's good to see you back on TPM, even if it is only short-lived?
I think you're right: if you don't consciously make time to keep a creative flame alight, the current of adult life will tend to try to douse it very quickly. I definitely noticed that last year when working full-time. I hope you come back soon, you're a fantastic writer and poet (and singer/composer ^_^).
Exchange sounds so cool - good on you for doing it! I imagine Kyoto would be such a cool cultural experience, no? Apart from the language barrier ...
Thanks for your kind words. I'm nine months and two days sober as of today. I definitely went underground in a lot of ways since being sober but have started to resurface socially this year. It's odd that a year that was so detestable (filled with full-time work in a field that wasn't writing-related) ended up making me think and reflect and grow perhaps more than any other year in my life. It's been very interesting and still continues to be.
On the upside, the villa is awesome. We've got all our furniture together now and things are going great!
Well ... I know you made no promise, but it would be awesome to see you back more actively in Feb. I quit work in Feb as well, so maybe we'll both be back to some semblance of proper Fanfic activity?

Gavin and Gabi: I'll be back to read LtL and Morphic and Communication and Quest of Twelve, even if I never pick up a pen again. (Well, unless you count writing physics equations.) So the writerly bit I still can't promise, but I look forward to being a reader again
