Chapter Sixteen - The Fire Competition gets closer
'Nuuuuuuuuum......el.......', the Numel yelled bored.
'Ow you're so going to be mine!', Jason yelled, and he glared at Numel.
'This is like so boring! Catch him already!', Rose yelled impatient.
'Yes, you're right! Meditite, I choose you!', Jason yelled, while throwing a Pokéball on the ground.
'Tite...tite...medi!', Meditite yelled, before going in a fighting pose.
The Numbel noticed this and took charge.
'Meditite, Confusion!', Jason yelled at Meditite. Meditite stood with his hands forwards and his eyes turned black. Meditite made rounds with his hands, and shot a wave of black energy at Numel. Numel shot back, and Meditite started punching him really hard.
'Meditite, come back!', Jason yelled.
'What's wrong with Meditite?', I asked Jason.
'He gets carried away in fights. If he thinks he has the upper hand, he starts smashing away. Pokéball, go!', Jason told us, while he threw out another Pokéball.
'Maku...hita!', the Pokémon yelled. The Pokémon was fat and yellow, with red circels on his cheecks.
'Makuhita, use Mega Punch!', Jason yelled excited. Then Numel fainted. Makuhita acted very strange and yelled out it's name.
'What is he doing?', Rachel asked.
'It's a bit sad actually. Because Makuhita is yellow and has red cheecks, Makuhita thinks he's a Pikachu, so now it's trying to perform a Thunder Bolt.', Jason explained.
'What do you say when the Thunder Bolt isn't working?', Rose asked.
'In a case like this I say it's not working because Numel is a ground type, and in other cases I say I hasen't learned Thunderbolt yet.', Jason said.
We all laughed. Jason threw a Pokéball at the defeated Numel, and the ball closed. Beep....beep....beep....beep....ping! The ball closed, and Jason laughed in joy.
'Yes, I finally caught a fire Pokémon, now I can enter the Fire Competition!', Jason yelled.

After twenty more minutes of walking we got to a building, with behind it a great vulcano.
'Mount Chimney...', Rose mumbled.
'Where do we sign in?', I asked.
'I bet it's the building over there.', Rachel said.
***
'Hello, do you wish to enter the Fire Competition?', a friendly looking women asked us.
'Yes, both of us.', Jason replied.
'Okay, I need your name, hometown and Pokémon.', the women said.
'I'm Brad from Blackthorn City, and I wish to battle with my Cindaquil.', I said.
'Okay, you are registered as number nine. And you?', the women asked.
'I'm Jason, I'm also from Blackthorn City. I'll battle with my Numel.', Jason told the women.
'Okay, you are number ten. I wish you both the best of luck. Next please.', the women said.
***
'Numel, go out!', Jason yelled.
'Nuuuuuuumel!', Numel yelled. Jason started petting it, and Numel rolled over on it's back.
Jason quickly turned it on it's feet, because of it's round back it was hard to lay on it's back. Jason scanned Numel with his Pokédex and he said: 'It's a girl. Just like your Cindaquil!'
We discovered that everybody participating in the Fire Competition got a room in a three star hotel. We decided that Rose and Rachel should share a room, and that Jason and I would share a room. The thing was that Rachel and Rose both wanted a room for their own. Shees...girls....
Jason and I let Cindaquil and Numel out of their Pokéballs for the night, to get plenty of rest in the bed. But the bed wasn't big enough for all four of us, so Jason and I slept on the floor.
