Cicily
Sith was a damned citadel, ancient lore and secrets to be lost forever.

Cicily had never ran so fast in her life, her feet carrying her and her mind barely acknowledging that they indeed had a plan. The plateau was their only means of escape, but the world around her was so rapidly changing. The massive man had joined their jaunt, through the alleys and across the stream of people. Cicily tumbled, letting out a yelp as she did.

She looked over, eyes wide and body numb as something smashed into the cobblestone square of the old city. There was a blast of air, and suddenly dust and debris rushed around her. Her body trembled, and the ground just seemed to endlessly shake. The lumar was twisting, it was rare she felt such a strong sensation, but everything was overwhelmed with fear. Her ears lowered a tad and pressed flat against the side of her head as she stumbled back.

Had she been that out of reality? Sith was falling, pieces of rock, both small and massive were crashing into everything and everyone.

‘Daggoth help us…’ Cicily thought, as her eyes looked up at the sky. ‘Clear as ever, if he can see us, why not stop it?’

“Cicily!”

She turned, spotting her guardian rushing towards her. His eyes were transfixed above her, and despite knowing what was there, she had to look.
The woman’s eyes fell upon a boulder, smoking and enchanted with flame it zoomed right for her. Her feet refused to move though, something told her to stay. Death’s embrace surely couldn’t be that bad, not as bad as what was to come. The world was going to fall to darkness anyways; nothing anyone had could combat this.

‘No!’ Cicily cried, forcing the thoughts from her mind.

She moved, racing through the crowd to William who sent them both to the ground. The rock missed them, barely. Slamming into the building before them and sending pieces of stone everywhere. Ug grunted, deflecting the majority of pieces with ease.

“What were you doing?” William cried over the screaming, though Cicily barely managed to hear him.

“I-I don’t know!” She shouted back, scrambling to the feet so the group could continue. “I couldn’t move!”

“Cicily is not the only one suffering from that affliction…” Leeryl noted as they stood in the shadow cast alley way. “Look.”

She gestured to whole groups of people, stopping in their tracks. All were doing the same, turning and facing the incoming boulders and chunks of falling tower. Staring up in silence, a few managed to break away from whatever was enchanting them, but most…

Most were gone in a blink of an eye.

“You will never make it to the plateau, be wary, the lumar is twisting and being used against the people. This is one time you must be selfish, preserve your own skin and keep your thoughts on survival.”

She couldn’t argue, but if not to the plateau, where in the world were they to run?

“Run into the crowd, I will find you.”

“We need to go.” Cicily urged them. “Aiday will find us; just keep your mind on running.”

“We are quite capable of this little human, but are you? You were the one to stop and gaze.”

“Less talking.” Ug growled, glaring up at the sky and snorting. “We run now.”

“Aye, I’m with the big guy. We run, now.” Spoke the mercenary in a gruff tone.

They were off again, out into the dizzying chaos. Cicily kept her eyes to the ground, though she could see the boots of some people stop and turn. The magic required to taint the Lumar was unimaginable. She wasn’t aware of any text even admitting that Daggoth could do such a thing, it was a system a part of the divine Majesty. It was something which was supposed to be pure and judged by the people around.

Unless all these people were powerful, evil mages, the Lumar should be pure.

But it wasn’t.

It was then, the crowd of people parted and ran in every direction possible. Cicily stopped, skidding to a halt just behind the barbarian, who was even taking a step back. He let out some sort of warcry, but he too added to the fear around them as he grabbed both his waraxes. The petite half-elf didn’t want to look, but she felt compelled, she cautiously peered around the massive man as William, Morea and Leeryl caught up to them.

“Oh… Dear Majesty…” Cicily trembled as it rose up.

Pieces of rock and rubble zoomed towards the crater, crashing into each other and forming into a gigantic, ten foot beast. All along the enchanted rocks and debris bright turquoise lines began to glow and pulse with power. Its eyes were mere slits, and as it let out a deep, demonic shriek, black, twisted roots burst out of its hands to form fingers.

“What is that?” Morea questioned, gawking at the beast as it took notice of Ug.

That would be the result of ancient elemental lore focused into falling meteor debris…” Leeryl chimed, proudly, but guardedly. “Also known as a golem.”

“Golems are earthen beasts, loyal to the lands.” William shot, readying himself. “Something about that thing is… Wrong.”

“It lacks the wisdom and fury of Earth, it has no clan, no element, no honour…” Ugdagah stood as tall as he could. “Dark rock not allowed to survive!”

“Listen Ugga-ugga, that thing ain’t something you want to charge at-AHHHH”

Cicily’s eyes widen as he charged, knocking the mercenary out of the way. “Wait!”

The monster almost seemed to laugh as it easily blocked the barbarian’s rash attack and sent him head over heels backwards from a single, powerful blow. Ug groaned, shakily getting to his feet as the creature looked around, taking in the destruction and admiring the death.

“Ugdagah will destroy it!”

Cicily stepped in his way. “There’s no honour is a pointless death! You cannot defeat it; you’ll be throwing your life away!”

He faltered, staring at the elf with narrowed eyes. She spoke the truth; she just hoped to the Gods he was willing to hear it.

“Look out!”

The fiend charged, Cicily gulped. Ug was still recovering; there was nothing she could do really. Her magic wasn’t nearly powerful enough to deal with a golem, tainted or not. Bravely she stood her ground, even as it shook with every step the beast took. Her hands glowed, as did her eyes and she through one of the most useless and pointless spells in existence at the golem.

The light was nearly as bright as the sun; it broke through the chaos without much of a challenge. People glanced over, or covered their eyes from the shine. The golem roared, skidded to a stop as suddenly the world was nothing but pure light.

“Found you!”

Two dragons swooped in, followed by a rather gruff looking bird. The first was Aiday, who sent herself crashing into the golem. The beast tumbled as the dragon let out a shrill cry the abyss raven mimicked, clawing at its eyes as a the second dragon crane it’s neck before lurching it’s head forward. A splash of acid coated the struggling golem, causing steam and smoke to rise.

“Sisukae now is not the time to admire the power of mythical creatures, mount me so we can flee this ash ridden place.” Aiday’s voice always managed to cut through the chaos, no matter what it was. “Where is your foolish knight?”

“Casland!” Cicily shouted, calling his attention from the scene. He rushed up the small leather and rope ladder on the side of Aiday before sitting just behind the priestess. Johann made himself known as he leapt onto the raven with a happy ‘yay-violence’ cry. Morea mounted the foul wyrm, who shot Aiday a look the wyvern was happy to return.

Morea and Johann had already taken off when Cicily realized Leeyrl and Ugdagah had no mount. She frowned.

“Don’t even think of inviting them along, one is a barbarian and the other is a damned shadowcrawler-“

“Get on!”

“Sisukae, you make it terribly difficult to hang around with the company you choose. Lady Selene would not approve of these people at all.”

They took off, the wyvern having to take a run at it due to the extra weight of Ug. Never the less they were in the air, pulling up higher and higher, away from the ground and the golems. Aiday frowned, letting out what must’ve been a growl. Everyone understood, holding onto whatever they could as suddenly she went to weaving. Side to side as pieces of rock and falling star shot by her.

The Umbra’s grip must’ve faltered at some point, because there was suddenly a stream of strange growling and cursing before Cicily spotted the nimble woman falling back down towards the ground.

“Pity.”

‘Aiday…’

“Oh fine…”

The wyvern did a loop, sending them into a quickening dive for the Umbra.
