That looks really impressive, I wonder if they can make some decent games based on that technology.

With Pokemon Gen 5 coming out, it looks like it could be a launch title for the new 3DS, if this isnt a very early April Fools Joke. Thoughts? Reactions? Angry Rants?Originally Posted by Kotaku

Eh? Well, fuck the DSi then - I'm getting this puppy!![]()
I just got a DSi less than a year ago, so I'll hold off on this for a while, at least until the 3DS lite pocket SP XL comes out a year later, which, given Nintendo's track record, is inevitable.

Any opinion on the possible new 3D positioning in the game? It could be cool but I fear that I will constantly have to readjust the game to get the proper camera position.
I am just glad this was announced before the DSi XL came out stateside. I was planning on picking that up, but now I'll just wait for this instead.
I think I read somewhere that both screens will be about 4 inches and there will be a control stick of some kind.

Meh.....now Nintendo is really starting to push their luck. I fear the general public is going to see this this and say "3DS? Didn't they just release the DSiXL last year?" With that name most people may think it's still part of the DS line and not an actual new system. That could have potential to hurt their sales badly.....especially with Ninty's recent track record of a new DS model every 1-2 years :-/

Well apparently 3DS is just a working name right now, much like Project Dolphin was and Ultra 64. Nintendo very well could keep the name, or they could change it when they unvail it officially at e3
Rudy I think if you look at history you'll be proven wrong. Nintendo released like what 7 gameboys? And almost all of them were hits. Also all version of the DS have sold great as well. I look at the DS Lite, DSi, DSi XL like the gameboy pocket or game boy color and this new system seems like it will be similar to GBA. A true generational leap over the old system while still being fully compatible.

I wouldn't touch this with a pole
Nintendo will neglect this shit. They like fancy shit and then ignoring it to never be used again.
Don't put money in, you'll only be disappointed.
Couldn't help myself.
This is actually one of the better Downfall parodies out there.

"FUCK GAMESTOP! They're more evil than I am!"
OK, that part made me chuckle.
I actually found the whole video pretty hilarious. And accurate. By the time you save up enough for the current version of the hardware and buy it, Nintendo announces the next newer, improved version will be released in a couple months and the cycle starts all over. You know why their handheld sales are so phenomenal? Because they keep suckering half their audience into buying a new version of the hardware every 18 months!
I love Nintendo and their mainstay games like the true Mario and Zelda games but I have to say I am in the growing crowd of gamers who is losing faith in the Big N. Somehow the Wii is managing to have a weaker software library than the Gamecube. They release a new version of the DS every 18 months or better making me feel I've wasted my money on the hardware I've already purchased repeatedly. While they may have found a larger audience with what in most cases has become gimmick controls (all the best Wii games can be played with a standard controller almost as well as the wiimote and nunchuck with motion control) they have continued to lose sight of the fans that made them what they were originally. They have found a new source of revenue and have slowly been losing their way from the old one. I hate to say it but I am close to agreeing with the hardcore gamers who are wishing Nintendo would abandon hardware and focus only on software development ala Sega (exception given to the handheld market I suppose).
