With Kurosakura lost to the depths of wherever she has gone, I've been called in to pick up reffing again. Prick welcomes me with a nice, high-pitched hello, which would cause eardrums to burst, but the safeguard is keeping everyone safe. Ironhide tries to take the viewpoint that when rocks fall, everyone dies, but Montana and Natalia use Kaio-Ken and Kamehameha, because everyone knows Goku isn't afraid of rocks.

Round 3
Prick opens this round with a bomb of sludge, which hurdles towards Montana. She creates some illusory figures to confuse Prick, but it's too late, the sludge bomb finishes her off. Natalia gets revenge for this with a fistful of fire. Ironhide lights himself with a dull glow and leaps onto Natalia.

The pretty rings confuse Ironhide, but they also provide a dartboard-style target for the extra electric energy he gathered from last round, which provide a nice distraction for Prick while Natalia strikes him down with a fist of flames.

Round 1
Triton starts jumping into the air using a torrent of water to keep herself airborne, while Natalia starts stomping. The ground shakes violently as the cow keeps stomping, only stopping when Triton teleports over and makes her stop. Ironhide enforces this point by using the energy collected by the earthquake and firing it back at the cow.

Round 2
Ironhide prepares a burst of metal for Natalia, who charges in and breaks the poor Lairon to pebbles before he can get his burst off. Prick gets his revenge by shooting a beam of matrix calculus at Natalia, confusing her. Triton calls on the power of the ancients to see if they can make sense of the horrible maths, but they just shoot rocks at Prick.

Furthering his revenge, Prick charges through Natalia, leaving two venomous slashes through her chest. Natalia grabs a nearby brick, breaks it in half, and throws the two halves at Prick... That's not quite what Wolfsong meant by Brick Break, Natalia. Triton is still trying to get the ancients help with the maths problems, and I think something was mentioned about quantum physics. Once again, the ancients just throw rocks at Prick.

Alright, sorry folks! I was whisked away by alien creatures from outer Sinnoh and uh… I had to fight the evil forces of Igglybuff, yes. Thank you, chaos-who-is-now-MIA for filling in for me while I was on my mission, so I’m gonna pick up the mic from where you’ve dropped it. And it looks like a ton of stuff happened while I was gone!

Triton starts off by kicking (ok, it doesn’t have legs, but give a ref a break, will ya?) up a nasty-looking (and feeling) Sandstorm, sending all sorts of gritty, earthy, foul-tasting particles up into the air and sending it flying throughout the stadium. Better put on your dust masks. Luckily, Prick bided his time saved the day by somehow dispelling the bunch of sand by… making the sun come out. Uh, not sure how that works, but it does! Triton had other ideas, however, and decided to take a huge breath and blow an Icy Wind at Prick, Marauder and clones, forcing an exhausted Prick to collapse and finally passes out. The Icy Wind manages to hit the real Marauder, and he’s struck with the beginning of what seems like frostbite, which will hamper his movement. Uh-oh. He perseveres and bashes his glowing wings against Triton, scoring what looks like a pretty nasty hit, if it weren’t the fact that Triton shrugged it off babbling something about resistances.

Never fear, ladies and gents! Straight from beauteous Norway (‘cept not really) is Oslo to save the day!

Okay, sorry, enough of that. Here in the lovely, uh, (*checks location quickly*) Indigo Stadium yet another round of this skirmish is set to begin! Darwin is the first to move, unleashing a frigid Ice Punch upon Sara. Brr! The poor Gible bears the brunt of that move and is left hugging herself for warmth. Er, can we perhaps get a space heater in here? Triton follows suit with an icy move of his own, launching a frigid beam of energy Marauder’s way. Can anybody say… birdsicle?

Shaking off the few ice crystals to collect on her back, Sara finds a random Snuggie sitting on the battlefield (gosh, who left that there? :O how irresponsible!) and decides that it will make a suitable Substitute. Marauder finishes by flapping her wings and sending a spooky wind to blow across the pitch. Ooh. Ahh. Eerie. And such. Triton gets caught in the blustery gusts and nearly tumbles right out of his pond. Careful, bud!

Darwin stamps her foot and, with a growl, begins generating electric current. She targets Triton with a sizzling Shock Wave, but the resourceful Shellos puts up a reflective barrier at the last moment. The Mirror Coat robs the move of a bit of its kick before reflecting the attack back at Darwin with some added spice. Ouchies. That’s one pissed off kangaroo thingy…

Sara’s rough skin begins to shine with a grey-brown sheen as she throws her weight at Marauder. The Starly is just about snapped in two by the blow, but he seems like a tough enough cookie to recuperate. He takes flight and begins whipping up a small cloud of sand that he directs at the Snuggie. The Snuggie is coated with sand, but other than that, it seems pretty okay. They’re awfully resilient, y’know.

Once again, Darwin fires a Shock Wave at Triton, but he throws up another barrier just in the nick of time and history repeats itself. The Kangaskan growls as she once again suffers from her own attack power. Boy, the world sure is a silly place.

Sara makes a guttural sound in the back of her throat and, without warning, an onslaught of rocks tumble from the heavens. They land on Marauder and enclose her in a rocky pile (a tomb, if you will), but the Starly bounces back with a lightning-fast dive-tackle that sends her slamming out of the rocks and directly into the Snuggie. With her beak and talons, she succeeds in tearing the shit out of that thing, but suffers a little recoil damage in the process. Bye-bye, Snuggie.

Darwin is the first to strike, tromping (aha, I just invented a word) over toward Sara as frigid energy suffuses her fist. She smashes the Gible in the jaw with her Ice Punch. Brr. From the pool, Triton gulps some water into her mouth and sprays it out in a spiraling swirl toward Marauder. However, the birdie uses a deft aerial maneuver to avoid the little curlicue of water.

Still smarting from that wicked left hook, Sara waddles over to Darwin with a frown on her face and fires off a powerful burst of draconic energy. Darwin shoots Sara the dirtiest look she can muster, and she’s a Kangaskhan, so yeah, that’s one nasty grimace.

Feeling suddenly agile and speedy, Marauder shoots off into the wild blue yonder, high into the sun! Except not really, but kind of. Down below, Darwin once again smacks up Sara with some frigid punching. Geez, can’t a freaky shark-ish thing get a break?

Meanwhile, Triton commands a storm wind to come barreling down the pitch. Fingers of cold catch Darwin, though Marauder seems too high up to even notice. Darwin looks up and scowls at her partner. Lucky so-and-so! Finally, Sara tries to send on onslaught of heavy, pointed rocks at the birdie, but Marauder simply dekes out of the way as they come tumbling downward. The boulders land uselessly on the ground and, though I don’t speak Gible, I’m pretty sure Sara is uttering a swear just now. Tsk tsk.

Look up in the sky! it’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a… wait, no, bird was right. Marauder comes zooming down toward Triton with a powerful aerial dive that harms the poor little Shellos. Darwin decides to gang up on Triton and hops in the pool, swims over, deals a crackling Thunder Punch before hopping back out. Triton seems dazed from this little act of gang violence; in fact, he seems to have lost a little muscle control there. Uh-oh. He tries to go for another Water Pulse directed at Darwin, but finds the Paralysis too debilitating to do so.

Finally, Sara breathes her hot, stinking breath all over Darwin, who gags. Yuck.

Darwin, focus on Sara. If she Digs-Earthquake. Otherwise, Ice Beam her twice and end with a Headbutt on Triton.

Darwin stomps merrily, pleased that she’s commanding the most health and energy at present, and celebrates with an Ice Beam directed at Sarah. However, at the last second the Gible splits into three clones. The Ice Beam sails uselessly right through one of them, obliterating it. That thing is donezo. Darwin feels decidedly less merry at the moment.

At this moment, Triton forms a mental link with Darwin and a little transaction of health takes place. Darwin begins to feel weaker while Triton can sense the might suffusing his veins. The Kangaskhan stares in shock. What is this witchcraft? Suddenly, Marauder swoops in and tries to break the link with a well-aimed Steel Wing to Triton’s head, but, alas, the Steel-type move isn’t all that powerful and doesn’t do the trick. That pain has been split.

Darwin, who is frankly a little pissed that her Ice Beam failed and that she had some health robbed, goes for a second Ice Beam. She shoots it off and—and yeah, clone. Sara and the remaining clone clap their hands joyfully. Darwin snorts. Shut up. The Gible’s skin begins to look hard and rough like the surface of a rock as she throws herself at Marauder, who suffers the brute of the move.

Then, just as Marauder’s head spins from that one, Triton goes for a second mental link—this one with Marauder. The Starly’s jaw (or beak, whatever) drops. Really? The transaction again occurs, but this time the effects seem opposite. Marauder begins to feel stronger while Triton feels weaker. Oops. To celebrate her newfound health, Marauder soars over to Triton’s pool and begins flapping up a cyclone. It smarts as it strikes the Shellos.

Darwin stomps over poolside and hops in. She doggy-paddles over to Triton and smashes the Shellos up with her head. Pleased, she then hops back out. Now feel especially painful, Triton tries to Recover some health, but something seizes up and he simply can’t. Wha—oh, right, Paralysis. Gotcha.

Sara repeats that Stone Edge on Marauder, who manages to pull things together enough to for a Return attack. She buffets and scratches up Triton to the best of her abilities, but once again, that adamant little seaslug just keeps on holding on. Can’t a wee birdie get a break?

Sara, start with dragon rage to Maurader. follow that up with sandstorm. Finish with Stone Edge to Maurader if not fainted and if it has dragon rush to Darwin.

Darwin bellows as she commands a crackling maelstrom of electric current to eat up Triton. The poor Shellos wails, very nearly depleted of all health, but manages to pull things enough to command a bone-chilling wind to sweep across the pitch and do a little bit of damage. As Darwin and Marauder are put on ice, Sara spews out a glob of sizzling energy that hits Marauder, but the little birdie isn’t out yet. She keeps herself airborne just long enough to strike Triton with a reckless tackling attack that takes the last bit of wind out of Triton’s sails.

That sea slug is deaaaad.
