As we enter the kajillionth twenty-fifth round of our little skirmish, Wolfsong recalls her poor fainted Shellos and instead sends out another Water-type, this time a mighty Marshtomp. Darwin doesn’t pay this new adversary any mind and instead targets Sara with a frigid beam of ice. The move shoots right past the clone and strikes the real Sara for some potent damage. The cold front continues as Delko summons another gale of ice and snow to sweep across the field. While Marauder is Protected behind a sudden grey barrier, Darwin is left hugging herself for warmth. Finally, Sara commands a battery of rocks to come slamming down from the heavens upon Darwin. The mighty Kangaskhan struggles, but can’t seem to free herself. Laaaame.

With Darwin stuck in her little tomb, Marauder gulps, realizing her own vulnerability. Uh-oh. Marshtomp uses some kind of telekinetic move to lift a few of the small, spare rocks from the tomb and pelt Marauder with them. Okay, ow? Marauder, however, has a plan. She takes off, escaping the barrage. Once she reaches the peak of her flight, she arcs into a fell swoop, shrieking down toward Sara. The move takes out the Gible’s final clone. Now alone, Sara responds by going grey and throwing herself at Marauder… which does the trick. Just like that, the valiant little birdie is donezo.

Greebly, Sara's making sand. So we'll make Sun occur after she's done dancing like a maniac. Darwin'll get her, but just to avoid that sand Tomb, and to tick Delko off, do a nice Solar Flare! (Flash)

Lastly, if that second Ice Beam doiesn't kill Sara, finish her off with your own Ice Punch. If Sara's dead, then direct a....ugh stupid Grass weakness only having thing..Oh, Hell with that. Sucker Punch Delko.

As DL recalls his fallen Starly, he ponders about his next choice. In the end, he releases a purplish ghostie with large, gem-like eyes. The spook scampers into the fray. With that, both competitors are down to their final two Pokemon and, at the moment, they look damn near even. Folks, this match is a friggin’ beacon of excitement!

Darwin, still encased in her little clump of rocks, lets out a feral roar (calm your business, lady) before smashing through with a forceful arm thrust. She returns to the thick of things just to be battered by a deluge of Muddy Water cast by Delko, who grins as she commands the muck to scourge both Darwin and Greebly. Sara giggles as the Kangaskhan and Sableye are left looking like drowned rats and celebrates by raising her hands over her head and clapping them once. Motes of sand descend from the sky and begin swirling through the arena, but not for long. Greebly is quick to rely by clapping his own hands, causing the sand to fall uselessly to the ground as the sun smiles on the match once again.

As things heat up beneath the harsh sunlight, Darwin puts a chill on the match with her kajillionth Ice Beam. Sara is really starting to get sick of these, I’m guessing. Delko follows suit and fires off an Ice Beam of his own at Greebly, who takes it in stride as his eyes begin shining brilliantly. Almost… painfully. Darwin and Delko manage to shield their eyes against the sudden glare, but not Sara, whose vision is suddenly compromised. She tries to execute a Sand Tomb, commanding the motes of sand left over from the Sandstorm to form a wee little cyclone, but the twister zigzags uselessly through the field without someone to properly control it.

Without hitting a target, the cyclone collapses. So much for that plan.

As Sara rubs her eyes and blinks profusely, trying to regain some of her vision, Darwin adds injury to insult with yet another Ice Beam. The move brings the Gible to the brink of defeat, though she thankfully survives—only to find herself on the receiving end of a frozen fist to the face care of Greebly. Oh my. Just like that, Sara is down for the count. You fought well, squat little land shark thingy!

Delko swallows as his comrade is recalled into Wolfsong’s Pokeball. Shiiiiiiit. Still, he keeps his composure as he uses jazz hands to summon a blustery Blizzard. The storm screams across the pitch, and though Darwin and Greebly do their best to brace themselves, it still hurts like a bitch.

Darwin. Sing for your second action, and see if Delko is asleep. If he is, then Focus Punch. If he's not or he went underground, Earthquake the sumbiznitch.

Though the match has become a two-on-one, Greebly and Darwin are not prepared to rest on their laurels. (Which wouldn’t even be all that comfortable, anyway; you’d get twigs and shit scraping your butt.) Greebly throws up a purple Protective barrier while Darwin, on the other hand, throws up a whiteish shroud of energy that will filter out oncoming status moves. Delko intelligently opts to do nothing and instead sits himself down on the ground for a quick moment of Relaxation.

Once done, he hops back up. Okay, ready to dominate!

Okay, folks, this has to be the most bizarre thing ever. Darwin begins to sing the first notes to some dulcet tune, but Delko instead skips over to the Kangaskhan and begins shouting in her ear. The hell? And this is a move? The Uproar proves effective, nonetheless, as nobody, least of all Delko, can hear a word of the song. I’m sure it was a good one, buddy. You’ll get your chance to shine someday. Finally, Greebly vanishes on the spot and, in a confusing moment, Delko tries to find him. Uh, where’d he go? Suddenly, Greebly reappears behind the Marshtomp and, before Delko can do anything, he smacks him in the face. Teehee, what a plan.

It’s do or die. Darwin and Delko locks eyes before… oh crap, knew it was coming. Both competitors raise one foot into the air and bring it slamming down, causing powerful shockwaves to raze the arena. The powerful double Earthquake gives everybody grief, especially Greebly, who is thrown to his feet. He flings a Shadowball Delko’s way in hopes that this might end the seismic party, but the Earthquakes continue for several seconds afterward.

So Greebly, Snatch the Sub! Darwin, once you see that the Sub is gone, Sing until Delko is fast asleep.

Next, Darwin, use all the energy you can to hit Delko with a Focus Punch when you see Delko coming toward you. Delko will be moving forward when Greebly throws him toward you with a Seismic Toss. Forever to be known as the Home Run!

Darwin won't have enough energy to do that again. So Darwin, you give Greebly a Helping Hand. Greebly, if Delko is still asleep give 'em anudda Focus Punch.

If Delko is awake, the sun will weaken that Surf, so Greebly use Shadow Ball!

Though the numbers aren’t exactly in Delko’s favour, the resourceful little Marshtomp nonetheless feels confident as he appears to have more fortitude than his foes put together. Delko scoops together a pile of sand left over from the Sandstorm and spritzes it with a little water, working it together into a sand castle Substitute. Wow, how artistic! However, without warning, an oversized ghostly hand extends from Greebly as he claims the sand castle for his own purposes. Delko frowns. Aww, man…

He doesn’t have much chance to grumble over this development, however. Darwin is quick to relieve Delko’s worries with a soothing lullaby that coaxes the Marshtomp into a deep slumber. Nighty-night.

Greebly: <-4 EP; Sub: 10 HP>

With Delko sleeping, there’s nothing he can do as Greebly and Darwin use his motionless body for a fun little game. Darwin begins building concentration as Greebly aggressively hurls Delko toward the Kangaskhan. Once Darwin achieves the adequate amount of focus, he unleashes a brutal punch that causes Delko to go soaring across the arena only to land face-down in a pool. Woohoo, home run!

Darwin rapidly begins applauding on the spot, cheering on his comrade so as to boost Greebly’s offensive stats. The timing is great, too, as Greebly wades into the water to deal Delko a second Focus Punch that knocks the Marshtomp back on dry land. And still, he slumbers.

Golly, that’s one tired Kangaskhan. Bent over and wheezing, Darwin nonetheless manages to clap her hands together a few times to cheer on her comrade. This act of conviviality is her last, though, as one sudden burst of sleep noise from Delko does her in. She falls to the ground with a rather disruptive thud. Good work, girl.

With renewed vigour, Greebly, who has been building his focus all this time, suddenly breaks out a wicked fist to the gut that knocks the wind right out of Delko. Ow?

Delko: <-16 HP; -6 EP; Zzz>

Greebly: <-13 EP; +1 Att; +1 SpA; Sub: 10 HP>
Darwin: <-8 HP; -1 HP from fatigue>

The punch does the trick, it seems, as Delko hops to his feet. This mudskipper is ready to kick some ghost behind! He gives the ground one mighty stomp, thereby unleashing a series of tremors, but Greebly somehow doesn’t seem affected; instead, the sand castle loses three of its battlements but otherwise holds together. The quaking ground makes it difficult, but Greebly successfully stumbles over to Delko and smacks the Marshtomp in the face with an energy-infused headbutt.

Greebly: <-6 EP; Sub: 1 HP>

That cheap head-to-the-face only incites the Marshtomp’s fury and… yeah, here comes another Earthquake. With that, the rest of the sand castle crumbles to the ground, finally defeated, and Greebly views this fallen piece of architecture with tear-filled eyes. Damn you! First his comrade, and now this! What a round it’s been.

As such, he flings another swirling ball of dark energy that strikes Delko, who crumples. He’s donezo, guys… and that’s the match!
