    Default Alpha Protocol

Was just curious to see who picked it up and actually gave it a fair chance as opposed to saying "It's a Mass Effect clone! Gunplay/stealth is fail!" Too many people are playing this game as a straight shooter as opposed to an RPG with elements of a shooter (Fallout 3 comes to mind)

As for myself I did the intro mission and then followed it up with Taiwan before heading to Russia. As for Thorton I'm doing my first playthrough as a mix of all three agent styles. For my next run I'm still debating if I'm going to do a "Jack Bauer" run (pure aggressive, kill terrorists without question) or if I'm going do a "Jason Bourne" run (pure professional, no civilian deaths, heavy CQC, knock out as opposed to killing everyone when possible)

I really loved this game, found it way better than Mass Effect with which it had little in common - especially having way more variations in how you handle missions (from straight forward shooting to being sneaky). It has a few flaws but the story is way better and most things you do really have an effect on what happens later on. The graphics are a bit dated but that's not a major bother. Played through it twice with two altogether different endings. You can even join the bad guys in the end.

Alex hit it right on the head. Despite the flaws (which are very minor ones to me) this is easily one of the best games to come out in some time. I just wish it wasn't getting so much hate since it's "not another Splinter Cell or Mass Effect." I think another issue behind the game are some of the low review scores. Granted there are games that deserve low scores. However every now and again you get a gem that for some odd reason gets rated low by a ton of mags and websites due to it not being what the reviewers were expecting. In turn idiots in the general public (some of who haven't even PLAYED the game) will rag on it since hating things that suck is apparently cool. Granted I may not be one to talk since I can't stand Twilight but.....well....that's a special case

Oh and it's official......Alpha Protocol has what has to be one of the coolest boss fights in recent memory. If you know 80's music you should be able to name the song almost instantly:

I wonder how many gay cheetahs died to make that jacket?-Thorton

Brayko was the hardest boss fight in the game for me. He barely stood still and even then he didn't take much damage, no matter if you had a rifle or were a martial art expert. But that's because I never used any of the special skills you received in the game to make it more difficult. The positive thing was that I got to hear more of the song during the fight.
