I'll be updating the topic with each press conference, but we are just a week away from e3, as such details are beginning to leak out, for one a new Kingdom Hearts game will be announced. Also it is rumored that the Nintendo 3DS which will be displayed at e3 will have close to the same amount of power as a PS3 or a X Box 360, making it Nintendo's most powerful machine on the market.

So we are a week away, anyone excited yet? I had the chance to go this year, but I guess I will wait till next year.

I find that bit of info extremely hard to believe. I don't believe it's impossible for a handheld system to have that kind of power. However one would have to think that that the cost of such a system would seriously send the price tag up.

Not saying focusing on handhelds is a bad thing, but if Nintendo wanted to put out a system as powerful as the PS3 then why not go for a console. It doesn't make sense to me

Most likely, I would expect the power to be more in line with Gamecube, but the rumor started at IGN, and was reposted by Kotaku today.

It is conceivable that it could be on par with the 360 and PS3 for a couple reasons. It probably needs to powerful to process 3D images, PSP came out forever ago and looks almost as good as the PS2 so seeing something a step beyond that isn't that hard to imagine, and finally it takes a lot less processing power to make a 3 inch DS screen look amazing than it does to make a 40 inch TV.

The two things I'm looking forward to the most this E3 are Natal and Rock Band though. I was really pumped when they showed Natal off last year, but so far reports are that the only games being made for it are family style flail like an idiot games. I have enough of those on the Wii, I wanna see if Microsoft has anything hidden up their sleeves.

As for Rock Band my friends and I still play it all the time so it's gonna be great to add another 80 or so songs to the library. There are a ton of rumors swirling around for it. I just wanna know how piano/keyboards will work for it and hopefully get the setlist too.

It will be nice to see if Sony has anything up their sleeves, now that Heavy Rain and God of War 3 are out there isn't anything announced in their pipeline that I'm looking forward too. I'm hoping E3 will change that.

I'm really intrigued by the 3DS. So far, all we know is that it'll have a 3D display, and that alone doesn't even make it a bigger step up than the DSi. Nintendo promised that it would be a big step up so we can only wonder what else it's going to have. I don't quite know what to make of the rumors about its processing power though. If it really is going to have PS3/360-level graphics then what kind of price and battery life are we talking about here?

Other than that, I'm really looking forward to any new info on Zelda. That and 3DS alone will make my E3.

Supposedly Nintendo is set to announce a new Animal Crossing game, which will be a 3DS launch title, along with the 3DS itself on Tuesday. When asked about it, Nintendo, of course, gave their standard "Nintendo does not comment on rumors or speculation" response.

After looking at the games that are coming out for it, I can conclude that not only is it just an EyeToy on steroids, but it's an EyeToy on steroids with a bunch of games for it that I already have on my Wii. Kinect Sports? Really, Microsoft? Really? You couldn't come up with a less obvious title?

I have never liked addons, I never will, they are a niche in the Video Game market, only a few developers use them because when you are making a game you want to play to the biggest market, and add ons are only a sliver of a console's total market share. That's why Kinect will fail, why the move will fail, why the eye toy failed, and so on. When will Game companies learn...

Just a reminder the Microsoft Press Conference will start in 1 hour, several sites are streaming it and I believe G4TV or Spike is showing it on Satellite/Cable in the US.

I'd like to point out that the eye toy didn't fail on PS2. It was a moderate success in the US and a big hit in Europe, I don't know how it did in Japan.

Some of the Kinect stuff was impressive. The video chat will be fun to use with my friend in the army. The cart racer looked stupid but Forza should awesome like always. The sports game looks kinda meh Wii Sports rip offs aren't just for nintendo systems anymore.

Kinect Adventure looks like it could be a really fun party game I'll be getting it for sure. The animal game looks okay nothing I'm interested in though. The fitness game looks to be about a million times better than Wii Fit so that should be nice.

So was anyone else disappointed in Microsoft? I guess I was expecting more, after 2 years of big announcements with GTA4 and FF13, this one just felt flat, they devoted more than half the program to a eyetoy that included a Tiger version of Hey You Pikachu, a Racing Game, a cheap version of Wii Fit, a dancing game, and a on rails Star Wars game. And their big closer.... a slim down X Box 360.

Please Nintendo, lift my spirits for the show, I need the 3DS!

The Gamecube version was a different game, with a different story, different location, etc etc. This version looks like a complete remake of the original game, down to having the original multiplayer unlocks like paintball mode

I've heard some pretty exiting stuff about the 3DS, can't wait to see it. And then there's Zelda. I even heard rumors that they're going to show off Pokémon Black and White. Considering Reshiram and Zekrom were revealed worldwide, we might even get new info on B&W.

By the way, I plan on being in the IRC chatroom tomorrow for Nintendo's press conference. I'll post an announcement to the main site to see if we can get anyone else in there. Hey, with Black and White rumored to be shown off, there's a pokemon connection there.

Haven't been watching because Micro$oft sucks, but from what I've gathered around the Internet, the show has gone like this today:

Micro$oft is copying Nintendo's E3 2008 and showing off NOTHING but Kinect, Xbox Slim or whatever it's called, and MGS Rising shit that we've seen already... That's it? Seriously, there was NOTHING else?

What about EA and Ubisoft? What have they shown? All I'm seeing consistently mentioned is a new Assassin's Creed, Rez 2, and Bulletstorm... Whatever that is.

Anything else? Like, at ALL? Come on, there HAS to be more. This shit's been going on for like 9 hours now, hasn't it?

The problem being it's on the Wii. I've yet to play a Wii shooter than stands up to even mediocre ones on the PS3 and 360.


Edit: Also blademaster from what they've shown of MGS: Rising it looks pretty awesome. You have a sword that cuts through anything from normal enemies to cars and walls.

The big thing from EA is they're basically redoing Madden with more casual players in mind along with 3 player co-op. Also a new need for speed from Criterion.

Ubisoft's press conference is still on going but so far they've showed off Assassins Creed, Ghost Recon, and bull shit like Laser Tag. Also the reason why things are so slow is E3 doesn't start until tomorrow there are just the 3 press conferences today.

Uh you guys over looked Spiderman shatter Dimensions, also one of the working projects Ubisoft is working on is called Reyman: Origin.

Also there a rumor going around that Zelda Wii well simply be called The Legend of Zelda with no sub tittle and will tell the Origin story of the Master Sword, it is also said to take place several hundred years before Ocarina of Time.

Hmm, sounds like it could be a reboot. They did say that Twilight Princess would be the last Zelda as we knew it, so that sounds like a reboot could be possible. Of course the title thing could also be someone misinterpreting the concept art that just had the tentative "The Legend of Zelda" as the game's title. Past Zelda games have used the same title as a tentative title before the official title was announced.

The thing about the origin of the Master Sword sounds interesting, and would fit with the fact that Miyamoto specifically pointed out that Link didn't have a sword in the concept art. Of course, that's something that's been speculated by fans for a while, so again, it could be a case of someone misinterpreting fan speculation as fact.

New Video of 3DS in action, using a Metal Gear Solid 3 Demo

Full report of the 3DS in action, two things stand out, first if it is too far away it will make you feel sick, too close and the screen gets blurry, essentially there is a bubble, a sweet spot that gives you amazing 3D effect. Second is the camera as quoted from the article.

When you activate the camera you use the thumbstick to slide back and forth on what you want the focal point to be in the image. So you can make the thing closest to you in focus or the thing in the back. Once you snap the pic you can look at it on that top screen.

The effect is astounding. I took a picture of the woman who had the 3DS padlocked to her waist. She's smiling and has her hands up. The hands feel like they're popping out of the screen, behind the room just goes on and on.

I totally loved Twisted Metal, I played through it with all the vehicles just to see what stupid wishes the winners had. My favorite vehicle was the Monster Truck and the two losers driving it wished for a set of new tires. ^^
