Hey, it's a shiny thing! I love those! Thanks, folks!

Welp, we've probably overstayed our welcome, guys. Let's leave these folks in peace and get back to the mountain trail. We'll figure out a new plan from there.

This large mountain is very cold and has biting winds nipping around. There is a layer of snow falling and many ice types can be found here. Also look for hardier bird Pokemon and a variety of tough foes.

    Round 8
You step out of the cave as the sun begins to set. The cool winds start to feel a bit colder as you close your parka for warmth. Rawk leads the way with his fists flaring up as he spots a staraptor diving down towards you, with a skarmory following suit.

Thunderhand, we got bogeys at twelve o'clock!

Ready a Thunderbolt, but don't launch it until you can see the whites of their eyes, so to speak. They might just be curious.

If they really ARE after a fight, you get in there too, Rawk. Use Flamethrowers on that Skarmory while Thunderhand lives up to his name and roasts that raptor!

    Round 9
Thunder and Rawk prepare for battle as the two avians dive down toward you. However, the battle music doesn't come on and the birds merely duck out of the way before tagging you. Looks like they were just having fun.

You shrug your shoulders and move on -- a good twenty meters ahead is a much larger cavern, you see. It might be a good idea to head inside before it gets too cold.

Guys, let's check out that cave. We're not stopping, but there might be something - or someone - of interest in there. If nothing else, we can at least take a break for a few minutes. This mountain's pretty big... Bigger than it looked at the bottom, anyway.

    Round 10
Almost immediately upon stepping into the cavern, you feel a 10 degree rise in temperature. Your pokemon begin to feel more comfortable as you take a look around while you regain your energy. The cave is mostly empty except for what appears to be a staircase leading downward.

Oddly enough, a charmander is huddled next to the stairs, using the flame on his tail to keep himself warm.

Rawk Hawk approaches the shivering fire-type and asks him a few questions.

"Whaddya mean? I've always lived here."

You give the charmander a confused stare until you see several rattata darting up the stares quickly. That's odd, you think to yourself. They're usually the last to leave anyplace. If they're running now...

    Round 12
You cautiously make your descent down the icy cold steps, clutching your parka tighter as you go down. Your three pokemon follow in pursuit as you hear the sounds of rough breathing getting heavier and heavier.

Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs, you catch glimpse of a herd of torchic as well as more charmander -- three of each in total. Why are they here, you wonder, and who was responsible for that noise?

You take a look to your left -- it's an abomasnow, and he does not look the least bit happy to see you.

    -SWOOSH-

Someone plays the boss music as your three loyal pokemon come to your side.

The completly aerial town is connected by boardworks, and the homes all resemble traditional Japanese style. One would think the townspeople were turned into Pokemon here!

    Round 14
Sudo is quickly tackled by Lady Nocturne [ -7HP Sudowoodo / -4PP Lady Nocturne ] while he charges up his attack. Two seconds later, it erupts from his frame and collides with the tinier fox pokemon, sliding her back towads the wall [ -10HP Lady Nocturne / -6PP Sudowoodo ].

Nocturne shrugs off the sudden attack before disappearing into the shadows once more for a counterattack [ -12HP Sudowoodo / -5PP Lady Nocturne ]. He responds by latching onto your fox's torso and lifting her into the air before tossing her aside like an unwanted towel [ -10HP Lady Nocturne / -4PP Sudowoodo ].

She pulls herself back together before chasing after him once more, tackling his torso for weak damage [ -5HP Sudowoodo / -3PP Lady Nocturne ].

Rawk Hawk steps up to the plate quite confidently before a large mamoswine enters the battle and tackles Rawk Hawk without warning [ -7HP Rawk Hawk / -5PP Mamoswine ]. Rawk is unable to evade as the swine pushes him into another side of the cave entirely, and Abomasnow is still angrily looking at your remaining two pokemon.

    Round 14
Rawk dusts himself off and readies for battle against a much more difficult foe. He holds his right fist back as an ember flickers around it. The tusk pokemon digs into the cavern floor, signifying that he's about to charge, and as he does so, Rawk lunges forward with his firery fist outstretched. The firebird collides with Mamoswine, causing him to spin out uncontrollably [ -18HP Mamoswine / -4PP Rawk Hawk ]. As he's dizzied, your fire pokemon continues to make you proud by driving the beast upward with a smashing uppercut [ -20HP Mamoswine / -6PP Rawk Hawk ].

Mamoswine pulls himself back together before slamming his massive hooves into the ground. An earthquake wrecks the firebird easily [ -15HP Rawk Hawk / -7PP Mamoswine ], but he easily retalliates with a massive blast of fire that scorches the tusky pokemon [ -24HP Mamoswine / -9PP Rawk Hawk ].

    78/81 38/88

Grand Star, meanwhile, takes charge of the other situation by firing off a powerful ray of rock energy that collides sharply with Abomasnow [ -16HP Abomasnow / -5PP Grand Star ]. Snow, quite irritated, fires off a torrent of razor leaves that slice across Star's body [ -11HP Grand Star / -4PP Abomasnow ].

Grand Star easily counters by trudging the cavern floor, picking up bits of dirt and ground along the way before slamming into Snow [ -6HP Abomasnow / -2PP Grand Star ]. But Star's not done yet, he picks up steam and turns around with even more power than before [ -12HP Abomasnow / -3PP Grand Star ].

    100/100 89/9066/96

As the battle continues, you scan your surroundings and realize that this massive room that you've come to houses a frozen lake that's nearly as massive. You then wonder what could possibly be causing all these large pokemon to wanna attack you without warning.

Rawk, use a combo of Double Kick and Blaze Kick on that Mamoswine. Then shake it down and ask why it attacked us. If it won't talk, loosen its lips with some Embers.

    Round 15
Without rhyme or reason, Mamoswine readies his charge towards Rawk once more. However, your pokemon is very prepared as his leg bursts into flames. As Mamo starts his tackle, Rawk slides in and kicks him in the gut twice with his firery appendage for maximum damage [ -20HP + -18HP Mamoswine / -10PP Rawk Hawk ].

Mamoswine slides across the chilling floor, defeated. Rawk attempts to get an answer out of the fallen pokemon, but in defense, Mamoswine darts away as fast as he can.

    78/71 0/88

Star keeps charging around with more and more earth energy collecting across his frame. Abomasnow lets loose by firing an ice beam at the target not aiming for him [ -9HP Thunderhand / -5PP Abomasnow ], before taking in Star's third hit [ -18HP Abomasnow / -4PP Grand Star ].

Abomasnow relents and tries to run away as well after noting his comrade has done the same. But before he can charge away, he is pelted by a small blast of fire [ -9HP Abomasnow / -3PP Rawk Hawk ]. You gaze to see that Rawk Hawk, after having bested his own pokemon, looks contemplative. And badass.

To keep the ice pokemon from getting away, both Grand Star and Thunderhand pin him down with their telekinesis. Abomasnow strugles for a few minutes before the rage in his heart subsides
    .

"Why... why am I being held up? What's happened?"

"We'll be asking the questions here, Mate. Why did you attack us!?"

    "I... attacked you?"

"Were you not paying attention? We've got the scars to prove it!"

This back-and-forth banter between Abomasnow and Rawk Hawk ultimately goes nowhere as the pendant around your neck suddenly starts reacting. Abomasnow's eyes suddenly glow red as he manages to break out of the psychic prison thrown together by your pokemon.

You recall your firebird, who was spending the last five minutes breathing deeply to regain his energy. He'll certainly welcome the lack of cold weather inside his spherical home. You turn to your starmie, looking to him for information.

"This is rather unusual. I sense a lot of rage went into crafting this piece, since a lot of the pokemon we encounter seem to want us gone. However, I find it unusual that the family of piloswine that had it didn't react the same way."

"Maybe it only effects fully-evolved pokemon?"

"That wouldn't explain why we are immune to it."

"Maybe it only effects fully-evolved ice pokemon?"

"Perhaps. But that's no the only thing... I'm sensing that this pendant is necessary for something -- like a key of some sort..."

This large mountain is very cold and has biting winds nipping around. There is a layer of snow falling and many ice types can be found here. Also look for hardier bird Pokemon and a variety of tough foes.

    Round 19
You put your sunglasses on as, somehow, The Who starts playing.

With that said, you gaze around the beautiful lake area and watch the small pokemon around you. A spheal and seel duo are splashing around in the chilly lake, whilst a shiny prinplup watches on the other side.

You see another catacomb on the far side, and wonder what wonders could be inside.

A strange town, all within the treetops. Long since abandoned by humans, the MASSIVE amount of Pokemon that live here all seem a bit strange and off kilter. The completly aerial town is connected by boardworks, and the homes all resemble traditional Japanese style. One would think the townspeople were turned into Pokemon here!

    Round 15
Nocturne starts panting heavily, but she knows she can best this wall if given enough time. Sudo beings posing, taunting her, until she flings a massive ball of stale energy at him. The shadow ball explodes on contact, easily knocking him over [ -10HP Sudowoodo / -6PP Lady Nocturne ].

Sudo pulls himself back up and slides underneath her, tripping her off her feet and unto the ground [ -8HP Lady Nocturne / -3PP Sudowoodo ], but the attack is weak.

Nocturne retalliates, by combining her stealthiness with a blunt head, and collides with the rock pokemon from the shadows [ -8HP + -6HP Sudowoodo / -10PP Lady Nocturne ].

    Thunderhand, return for a sec.

Grand Star, Surf me across that lake, to the entrance to the catacombs. That shiny Prinplup is very tempting, but now is not the time.

    Round 20
You recall Thunderhand as Grand Star hops into the icy cold water before immediately jumping out. You give him a disappointed stare before it jumps back inside, in hopes to no longer disappoint you. You slowly climb onto it's "shoulders" as the back star starts rotating like a rudder; before too long, you two are making great speed.

You enter the catacombs and begin to think maybe you shouldn'tve as the water's flow becomes faster and faster until... a waterfall -- a good twenty feet ahead. The shiny prinplup watches you.

    Round 21
You hold on tight to your pokemon as it charges forward, hoping to use the flow of the water as momentum to safely make it beyond the waterfall. You close your eyes until you endure the feeling of weightlessness for a few seconds before hitting the still freezing lake below.

You come to nearly an hour later, detatched from your water pokemon. A lapras had managed to pull you to safety and barks happily when she notes your awakeness. You take a few glances around -- there doesn't seem to be anyway back up to the cave's entrance, and you can't seem to find Grand Star whatsoever.

"Blade, you are without a pokemon. You must have one registered to your name active or else you will be teleported back to the Safari Zone entrance. This is for your own safety."

    Round 16
Lady narrowly avoids a rock smash by her foe as she cloaks herself into the shadows yet again. As Sudo questions just where she is, she re-emerges, giving him a swift kick in the chin [ -8HP Sudowoodo / -6PP Lady Nocturne ]. While he sits there wondering what happened, your off-colored umbreon comes back to your side while you toss your lone great ball at him. The ball sucks him up instantly.

    It shakes once.

    It shakes twice.

It shakes a third time... and locks.

You inspect the blue-colored ball and depress the center button; it teleports away, back to the safari zone HQ.

"Congratulations, Weasel Overlord, your Safari Zone quest is now complete. You will be returned to the HQ now to collect your pokemon."

Your Safari Zone adventure is now complete!

Rawk! Thunderhand! Get out here now!

    *cue two flashes of light*

Guys, you ask that Lapras for any information about Grand Star or what's happened in the last hour. I'll try and psychically contact Grand Star again.

Our adventure is officially on hold: We're mounting a rescue operation.

Frantic and trying not to get teleported back, you call out your two pokemon. In a flash of red light, they appear on the cavern floor, looking confused.

You attempt to form some sort of psychic link with your starmie, but ultimately end up giving yourself a headache along the way, whilst Rawk attempts to communicate with the lapras.

"There was no one else here before aside from you. Did you lose someone?"

    "Yes, we did. A starmie."

"I see. Well, I know these caverns like nobody's business, so if you follow me, I'm sure we can find him."

As you travel together, you note a sneasel sharpening his claws against the icy stalagmites, while a bronzor rests on the floor.

You pass by the sneasel and bronzong out of loyalty for Grand Star and continue through the cavern. As you continue, you hear a loud rustling nearby. A large, steel door stands before you.

"That's funny, that door's never been closed before."

"How're we supposed to open it? Looks too big for us to do it by force."

You notice the pendant in your pocket glowing and whistling.
