I'll... check the door for some sort of locking mechanism. Maybe it needs a key.

This large mountain is very cold and has biting winds nipping around. There is a layer of snow falling and many ice types can be found here. Also look for hardier bird Pokemon and a variety of tough foes.

    Round 25
You hold up the gem to the door and it slowly opens backwards, welcoming you into the large maw inside. It is very dark inside, but Rawk lights things up with his gauntlets of fire. A wild ice beam comes out of the darkness and Rawk swiftly leaps out of the way.

"Looks like we've got another fight on us, Boss."

Someone cues the epic battle music, because we've got a boss fight on our hands. The torches light up inside the cavern as you spot a dewgong, glaceon, as well as another abomasnow, each battle-hungry.

"Looks like a three-on-three, mates. What're your orders?"

I'm REALLY getting sick of you fuckers.

RAWK! Target that Abomasnow first with Flamethrower, Brick Break, and Flare Blitz.

Thunderhand! Fuck up that Dewgong with Thunderbolt, Cross Chop, and Discharge.

Lapras, you're on our side, right? Then Glaceon is yours. Use Confuse Ray, Iron Tail, and Ancientpower.

    Round 27
Abomasnow starts the round off by summoning a harsh hailstorm that ruffles your pokemon's feathers [ -5PP Abomasnow / Hail activated ]. Rawk shrugs it off and blasts the icy palm tree with a malestrom of flames that causes quite a bit of damage [ -18HP Abomasnow / -5PP, -1HP Rawk Hawk ]. Thunderhand, meanwhile, focuses on the dugong and lets loose a snapping bolt of electricity that crashes down wildly on her [ -14HP Dewgong / -5PP, -1HP Thunderhand ]. The temporary PC in your group, Lapras, focuses on the glaceon and lulls him into confusion [ -3PP Lapras / +25% Con Glaceon ]. Dewgong shudders off the electric current and fires an aurora beam at Thunderhand, knocking him down briefly [ -6HP Thunderhand / -4PP Dewgong ].

Glaceon fights off the confusion briefly and draws back before flinging his body at Lapras, stabbing her in the torso with his head [ -7HP Lapras / -4PP Glaceon ]. Lapras responds by smacking him with her iron tail for great damage [ -
15HP Glaceon / -7PP Lapras ]. Thunderhand, meanwhile, continues targeting the dugong and crosses his arms for a moment before striking him down [ -15HP Dewgong / -7PP, -1HP Thunderhand ]. Rawk just punches Abomasnow [ -11HP Abomasnow / -4PP, -1HP Rawk Hawk ].

Lapras fires a beam of rock energy at Glaceon, but the hail allows him to sidestep the impending attack [ -6PP Lapras ] as he retalliates with a rock smash [ -6HP Lapras / -3PP Glaceon ]. Rawk Hawk again takes on Abomasnow with another devastating fire technique [ -24HP Abomasnow / -8PP, -8HP, -1HP Rawk Hawk ]. Abomasnow takes advantage of type advantage by hurling off a water pulse that slams right into Rawk's torso [ -9HP Rawk Hawk / -5PP Abomasnow ]. Thunder fires off another collection of electric energy that explodes on Dewgong, sending her reeling back easily [ -12HP Dewgong / -5PP, -1HP Thunderhand ]. The dugong cries before shooting off another ice beam [ -9HP Thunderhand / -5PP Dewgong ].

Lapras, use Rain Dance! Then use your own Water Pulse on Glaceon, and finish with Iron Head!

Thunderhand, strike that Dewgong down with Thunder, Thunderpunch, and Thunderbolt!

Rawk! Use Sky Uppercut on Abomasnow, then Double Kick, and finish with Focus Blast!

    Round 28
Not giving the bosses much of a chance, Rawk gives Abomasnow a nasty uppercut that sends him flying through the air [ -12HP Abomasnow / -5PP, -1HP Rawk Hawk ]. Lapras, meanwhile, ends the hailstorm with a rain dance; a dark rain cloud emerges from somewhere, drizzling rain from all over
[ -5PP Lapras / Rain Dance activated ]. With the rain at his disposal, Thunderhand is free to create a massive storm that crashes into Dewgong, dealing great damage [ -18HP Dewgong / -10PP Thunderhand ]. Abomasnow decides to take out his anger on everyone, stamping his foot down and creating an earthquake that ruffles the feathers of everyone else [ -15HP Rawk Hawk / -15HP Thunderhand / -10HP Lapras / -10HP Dewgong / -10HP Glaceon / -7PP Abomasnow ]. Glaceon is too dizzy to react, and Dewgong's body is paralyzed.

Wanting Abomasnow gone for that last move, Rawk slams his foot into the icy tree twice for respectable damage [ -6HP + -6HP Abomasnow / -3PP Rawk Hawk ]. Glaceon is then struck by Lapras' water pulse [ -9HP Glaceon / -3PP Lapras ], whilst Dewgong gets another thundrous attack his way [ -11HP Dewgong / -5PP Thunderhand ]. Dewgong reels back before creating a safeguard barrier that surrounds his team [ -5PP Dewgong / Team Safeguarded ]. A shadow ball is flung wildly into the air by Glaceon; it sails directly into Thunder bluntly [ -8HP Thunderhand / -6PP Glaceon ].

Rawk charges up a lot of fighting energy as Thunderhand strikes with a thunderbolt to Dewgong [ -13HP Dewgong / -5PP Thunderhand ]. The focus blast is released, knocking Abomasnow off his feet quite easily [ -18HP Abomasnow / -7PP Rawk Hawk ]. Lapras, not sure what to do, just improvises and slams Glaceon once more with his iron tail [ -15HP Glaceon / -7PP Lapras ].

Thunderhand, use Discharge to bring down Abomasnow and Dewgong! If either of them are still standing after that, use Psychic to smash them into each other. Then use Cross Chop on Glaceon.

Rawk, use Sunny Day. Then use Shoryuken (Fire Punch + Sky Uppercut) on Glaceon.

Lapras, use your own Safeguard just to be... Well, safe, I guess. Once that's done, finish off that Glaceon with your Signal Beam. If there's any time left, use Heal Bell.

    Round 29
Before they even have a chance to fight back, Thunderhand ends Abomasnow and Dewgong with a much heavier discharge that wrecks each of them [ -5HP Abomasnow / -7HP Dewgong / -10PP Thunderhand ], whilst Rawk ends the rain and Lapras summons a protective barrier that safeguards her team [ -5PP Rawk Hawk / -5PP Lapras / Safeguard activated / Sunny Day activated ].

Glaceon, now feeling fret by the heat, fires off another shadow ball that collides with Lapras [ -8HP Lapras / -6PP Glaceon ] before he gets pummelled by Rawk's flaming uppercut [ -14HP + -13HP Glaceon / -12PP Rawk Hawk ]. Lapras then hits the icy fox with a blast of bug energy [ -7HP Glaceon / -4PP Lapras ]
    .

Thunderhand, finished relaxing from that double-strike, finishes the round by striking the downed icemon with his dual-chops [ -15HP Glaceon / -7PP Thunderhand ]. Realizing that he's fighting a losing battle, Glaceon comes to his senses and runs away in the direction you were aiming for anyway.

Your pokemon sigh in relief as the victory music plays.

Lapras notes the trail of ice leading somewhere as Rawk melts part of the wall with his massive fire attack. However, while there is something behind the wall, it's nothing really of importance: an empty hollowed out cavern with hundreds of tiny insects

    .

The winds start picking up and biting into your skin, but the three of you press on. Nearly half a mile into your trek, you spot a young luxray napping on the floor, as well as a frozen carnivine hanging from the ceiling.

You ignore the pokemon, again, out of loyalty for your lost starmie

"We're going upwards. That's probably why the air's getting colder."

Taking her words, you continue through the cavern as it gets higher and higher

    Round 37
After nearly twenty minutes of flamethrowering, smashing, and one instance of you kicking and injuring your foot as a result of said kicking, you break through the ice wall and free the frozen starmie from it.

You happily rejoice with your pokemon as it slumps down, still rather unconscious. It's healthy, but just needs a bit of time to recover.

As your pokemon gleefully celebrate, you look to the side opposite the ice wall and note a peculiar cavern where the ice trail still continues.

This large mountain is very cold and has biting winds nipping around. There is a layer of snow falling and many ice types can be found here. Also look for hardier bird Pokemon and a variety of tough foes.

    Round 38
You recall the very much frozen starmie to its poke ball for the first time in hours, and work your way through the cavern. You notice that the air's much colder than before as you tighten your parka.

You begin having trouble breathing at this point.

I'm gonna stop for a second and ask my team how they're feeling.

...Oh, how could I have forgotten... Thanks, Lapras. We might have never found Grand Star without you.

I wish I had some way to repay you.

You take a breather and allow your pokemon to regain their energy, making sure to thank Lapras for her troubles.

"I must say that this is as far as I've ever gotten in these caves. Not so sure I feel comfortable going any further. Unless you want to keep me, that is..."

I don't have any other way of thanking you, Lapras, so I'll let you make that decision. I think that it's the very least I can do...

On that note, Rawk, return. Sorry to keep ping-ponging you guys around, but you've taken a bit of a beating. Rest up for a bit, OK?

In that case, Lapras, welcome to the team. GROUP HUG!

    "Vire..."

Don't listen to him, he's just a grumpy Gus.

...Oh, speaking of groups, Grand Star, come on out!

How are you feeling, buddy? Can you tell us anything that happened when we got separated? Or how you wound up so far up here?

    Round 41
You reserve one of the ultra balls in your inventory for Lapras, but decide against using it just yet lest she gets transferred back to the Safari Zone. Grand Star is summoned from the poke ball, and, feeling completely refreshed, decides to answer some of your questions.

"I was blindsided when we hit the bottom of the waterfall. I didn't get a good look at the creature, but whatever it was... it was huge."

You look up at the cavern ahead with a newfound sense of hunger.

Huge or not, it doesn't excuse what it did to you. I'm gonna find it and I'm gonna make it pay.

Thunderhand, Lapras, Grand Star... and Rawk Hawk. *sends him back out*

We're moving onward. And upward. Let's find whoever runs this place and settle this once and for all!

Rawk's having a difficult time maintaining his boiling temperature, but he remains loyal to the mission at hand as you continue through the corridors. The cavern splits into two about a mile in.

Lapras, you've never been this far up, right?

We aren't splitting up again. I don't trust this place any farther than I can throw it. And I can't throw mountains very far.

...Wait, I got an idea. Lapras, try using your Foresight. Maybe you can lock onto something that the rest of us can't.

    Round 43
    You
opt not to split up this time -- having just reunited all our pokemon.

Lapras steps up to the plate and checks out the path to the right -- her pupils glow white as her vision extends further and further into the cavern. She spots a prinplup and empoleon nestled closely together, next to... the cavern exit!

We're heading right, then! Onward, folks!

Lapras, lead the way. That Empoleon may try and attack us, but you should be more familiar. Let's try and be diplomatic. At least until we find the big boss whose skull needs a crackin'.

    Round 44
You and your quartet of pokemon huddle into the right cavern with Lapras leading the way. You bypass the couple of water pokemon as you head for the light -- but Lapras comes to a complete stop. You can feel the warmness of the air outside, and you become more and more eager.

You try to see what's in front of her, but you look back into the cave as soon as you do. A hundred-foot drop stands at the cave's entrance -- maybe this wasn't the right way after all?

    FUCK MY LIFE.

OK, everybody back the other way! We'll take the left path... which is now the right path because of our perspective. Watch, with our luck, that'll be a dead end too.

    Let's move out.

Fishing rods are supplied for free, so sit back and see what you can land. Water types are abundant here, but the soft land around is home to more than a few burrowing pokemon.

    Round 11 (1)
With Steak in tow, you continue towards the docks. You can see them in plain view, but they're just a little bit further. As you continue on, you spot a yanma fluttering about curiously, as well as a bidoof snoozing in the grass.
