Frustrated, you summon Thunderhand and both your pokemon light up their fists before slamming it into the ice. The ice cracks and they do it again in tandem, breaking through little by little. You still can't hear any words coming, but, a glimmer of hope! You can see a starfish frame still in the ice -- about ten meters ahead.

After nearly twenty minutes of flamethrowering, smashing, and one instance of you kicking and injuring your foot as a result of said kicking, you break through the ice wall and free the frozen starmie from it.

You happily rejoice with your pokemon as it slumps down, still rather unconscious. It's healthy, but just needs a bit of time to recover.

As your pokemon gleefully celebrate, you look to the side opposite the ice wall and note a peculiar cavern where the ice trail still continues.

"I was blindsided when we hit the bottom of the waterfall. I didn't get a good look at the creature, but whatever it was... it was huge."

You look up at the cavern ahead with a newfound sense of hunger.

Rawk's having a difficult time maintaining his boiling temperature, but he remains loyal to the mission at hand as you continue through the corridors. The cavern splits into two about a mile in.
