After a few minutes of walking, you note that the trail is shifting into an entirely different direction than it was before. Hopefully this mountain isn't too thin, or else you'll have another drop off coming up.

As you continue, you note the air becoming more and more stale as it becomes harder to breathe.

As you start breathing shorter breathes to make the air last, you hatch up a scheme, and the pokemon are on board. Star fires off a concentrated orb of water that is held in the air by Lapras' kinesis. Thunderhand then strikes the bubble of water with electricity, and the water explodes! Suddenly the air becomes a little thicker, at least for a little while...

The light gets brighter and brighter as you charge forward, damning your own fatigue.

After about a minute solid of walking, you reach the end of this tunnel and find yourself in... a very large room. The walls are all made of ice and it's bright and sunny. Unusual, really. You and your pokemon stare in awe at this masterful place. It's almost as if it were constructed to house a god...

As you scan the room, you don't note many exits or entrances. Just one leading to a long hallway that just stretches back here. What gives?

With guns a-blazin, you run to the hallway to note just what Grand Star found. It's big alright, but not automated whatsoever. Standing before you is a rather large ice sculpture of Regice, the golem of ice. You sigh for a moment as the pendant in your pocket shines brightly.

You stare at the statue in awe, grabbing the pendant from you pocket as you do so. But not even a second passes before the pendant shoots out of your hand and melds itself with the statue.

An large blast of ice is shot in your direction, and you all break through the wall back into the main ballroom.

Shit, shit shit, what's happening!? The large statue climbs out of the hole he created and his eyes shine a bright red. This ain't no statue. This ain't no statue at all. Before you can even command your pokemon, the golem fires off four ice beams in rapid succession -- one for each of you pokemon. Lapras absorbs the hit easily, and Rawk blasts the ice away with his fire on instinct. Thunderhand and Grand Star, however, get blasted into the wall and freeze into it completely.

Someone starts blaring some epic boss battle music now, because this time it's real.

Regice. I don't have any qualms with you. But you attacked us first. After I technically did you a favor by bringing you back what I can only assume is your EYEBALL. So I'm giving you a choice:

First option is: You keep up with the attacks, we have a big slap fight, we all get hurt, nothing changes from before except that I've conquered another challenge on this mountain and hopefully raised the temperature a bit.

Second option is: You unfreeze my partners, or at least let Rawk here thaw them out, and you can go back to sleep, have some coffee, go to the Internet cafe... Whatever it is epoch-old semi-immortal living statues do in their spare time. I dunno. Rawk Hawk flares up his gauntlets -- he is definitely ready to take on this icy juggernaut. The leader of your party shoots off a fire chain that wraps around Regice, constricting him in fire for a few moments [ -11HP Regice / -5PP Rawk Hawk ]. Meanwhile, Lapras makes certain that the party remains safe by casting a protective safeguard around everyone [ -5PP Lapras / Safeguard activated ]. Regice then lets loose a cackling hammer of electric energy upon the sea dragon, crippling her greatly [ -14HP Lapras / -7PP Regice ].

While they're fighting, you search around for an ice pick to no avail. Exasperated, you wrap your fist up in your parka and start punching around Thunderhand, but the ice is way too thick and your hand swells up as a result. Rawk lets out a howl as he slams his fist into the ice golem, sending it back a few feet (but never faltering) [ -9HP Regice / -4PP Rawk Hawk ]. Lapras goes on the offensive as well, sending a crippling blast of rock-based energy at the boss [ -7HP Regice / -5PP Lapras ]. The ice golem, perhaps tired of all the attacks, creates five illusions out of the ice around him [ +84% Eva, -6PP Regice ].

Rawk, slightly intimidated, just lets loose on one of them, jabbing with his elbow. But as he fights, the image disappears [ -4% Eva Regice / -6PP Rawk Hawk ]. Lapras strikes out too with her attack, sending another clone to nothingness [ -5% Eva Regice / -6PP Lapras ]. Completely unharmed and not unfocused, the ice golem reels back and slams his icy fist into Lapras, sending her straight into a wall [ -22HP Lapras / -13PP Regice ].

Rawk, you use your Blaze Kick. And then, finish by using Fire Blast... on Grand Star! Two freezings in one battle? Not on my watch!

Lapras attempts to pull herself back together after that nasty focus punch and attempts to read her opponent. She looks at any inconsistency she can with the clones until she finds something off -- the one to the right has a few burn marks on him! Eureka [ -5PP Lapras ]! She points this out to Rawk Hawk who immediately springs into action. His body flares up like a giant fireball as he sails through the air, crashing into the correct golem and pounding on him several times [ -18HP, -75% Eva Regice / -9PP Rawk Hawk ]. Regice, having enough of it, grabs Rawk by the leg and slams him down on the ground for weak damage [ -5HP Rawk Hawk ]. As Rawk struggles to get back up, he is caught in the back repeadedly by Regice's ancientpower [ -11HP Rawk Hawk / -5PP Regice ].

Lapras charges at the golem with his back turned and successfully slams into his legs, bringing him down [ -12HP Regice / -6PP Lapras ], giving Rawk enough time to slam his firery leg down on his torso [ -13HP Regice / -4PP Rawk Hawk ]. But even as he's down, Regice's body sparks with electricity, shocking the firebird as he kicks [ -12HP Rawk Hawk / -8PP Regice ].

Rawk flees his opponent long enough for Lapras to hold him down with her telekinetic abilities. Regice squirms for a few moments [ -9HP Regice / -7PP Lapras ] before he ultimately breaks free and picks himself back up. With a cold stare, he fires another ancientpower, slamming her into a wall [ -11HP Lapras / -5PP Regice ].

Rawk, meanwhile, locates Grand Star and rests his palm against the ice that holds him. A blast of energy escapes and melts the ice easily, freeing your starmie [ -7PP Rawk Hawk ]. The battle's now 3-on-1.

Steak summons an ethereal tether into the field and wraps it around Gyarados so he can't escape [ -5PP Steak ]. However, he wasn't really planning on escaping anyway. The serpent dragon lets out a roar to establish dominance, intimidating your pokemon [ -20% Atk Steak ]. Gyarados fires off a flamethrower that scathes Steak easily [ -9HP Steak / -7PP Gyarados ].

Steak shrugs off the flames before snapping at the dragon with a weak shock, paralyzing him easily [ -5PP Steak / +25% Par Gyarados ]. Gyarados thrashes about before creating a ripple in the lakebed. Within seconds, the ripple becomes a full-blown twister that manages to knock Steak off her feet quite easily [ -6HP Steak / -2PP Gyarados ]. She retalliates with a massive blade of electricity that strikes through Gyarados easily [ -18HP Gyarados / -7PP Steak ].

Round 59
Lapras gives the leviathan a lulling stare [ -5PP Lapras ], but he remains immobile. As she's doing that, Rawk locates Thunderhand iced to the wall and presses his palms into it once more. An explosion [ -5PP Rawk Hawk ], and the electric pokemon is free from the ice, awaiting your orders. Finally, Grand Star lights up the room from the gem on its torso [ -3PP Grand Star ].

The second act commenses with Rawk Hawk driving his firery palms directly into Regice's torso [ -11HP Regice / -5PP Rawk Hawk ], while Lapras hits him with a rough ancientpower [ -9HP Regice / -4PP Lapras ]. Grand Star lets loose with a thunderbolt and... crumbles the golem [ -5HP Regice / -5PP Grand Star ]. What the? Was that all it took?

You barely even notice when the real Regice emerges from the aftermath. Wait, when'd he get time to make a substitute!? Regice fires off a massive collection of stored energy that ultimately tears through both Lapras and Rawk Hawk [ -15HP Rawk Hawk / -15HP Lapras / -10PP Regice ].

Lapras has had enough at this point and drills her horn into the icy ground, creating a massive shockwave [ -10PP Lapras ]. This, perhaps, was not the best course of action. The force of the shockwave coupled with the weight of all five pokemon in the icy arena causes the floor to shatter, forcing all of you to plummet down the mountain.

Waitaminute! Who's idea was it to build an ice sculpture shrine on the side of a mountain!?

You don't allow yourself to think about that now as you tumble down the mountain; Lapras grabs you with her mouth and pulls you onto her back as she slides down. Regice, the heaviest of the pokemon, is a few yards ahead of you while Thunderhand and Rawk tumble behind. Grand Star, meanwhile, is trying desperately to keep off the ground at this point.

Round 60
You and your pokemon continue their rapid decent down the mountain pass. Unable to concentrate on attacking, Lapras merely skids from side to side avoiding the varying trees and other debris. Grand Star, meanwhile, hovers down by your side [ -3PP Grand Star ], using telekinesis to pull Thunderhand onto Lapras' backside with you as Rawk barely gets a grip on the floor and pulls himself on as well.

Regice can't even control himself as he accelerates faster and faster. Damning your orders, Thunderhand nods at Grand Star and takes matters into his own hands and latches onto everyone riding Lapras. In a flash of light, all four of you vanish [ -10PP Thunderhand ].
