Blade while Game freak dose a good job at making the games they some what fail at fully utilizing a region's potential for a case in point take the Sevii Islands they were a good Idea but all they were is oh yeah the Sevii is always existed but as a poorly excavated clone of the Kanto/Jotho mainland. IMO the Sevii Islands would have been better as it's own region with it's own Pokedex and be like Pokémon's version of the Grate Aea from the Legend of Zelda.

it's shaped like a mitten and a bony finger, Five Grate Lakes, Interesting local legends such as the underwater panther, and Paul Bunyan being said to have created the Lower Peninsula and dug the Grate Lakes as watering holes for Babe the blue ox. Interesting locations such as the mighty Mackinac and a local specialty Mackinac Island Fudge, that and it's the birth place of General Motors, as well as other Businesses such as the Kellogg Company, which it's world headwaters is in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Isshu is based off a huge city. Michigan has none of those, nor anything to do with the regions of Japan comprising the maps of the last four games.

Actually Blade Michigan dose have a Large City, while yes it may not be as big as new york it's still the 11'th largest in the US, I am of course talking about Detroit Michigan. You my friend have obviously not read Michigan's Article on wikipedia were it clearly states that one of Michigan's Sister states is the Shiga Prefecture of Japan.

Actually the Sevii Islands were based off of the Izu and Bonin Islands off the south-southeast of the Main Japanese Island. And I thought the Sevii Islands were a nice addition, kinda mirroring the Orange Archapelego. Considering that the time-line of the Games apparently has Fire Red and Leaf Green happen in the same time frame as Ruby/Saphire/Emerald, while Gold/Silver/Crystal happen at the same time as Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. Besides, if you couldn't go to Johto in Red/Blue/Yellow, you have to get SOMEWAY to complete your Pokedex on those Games.

And New York City doesn't have it's fair share of history, myth, geography, geology, looks, and several business origins? It's one of the first cities of the United States! It's pretty iconic of the USA. Mention the US and one of the first things to come to mind is the NYC.

And Wiki's article on New York City says one of it's Sister Cities is Tokyo, which was the basis for Saffron City in RBY. Need an analog somewhere...

Look, not saying you shouldn't think that Michigan would be 'great' for a Pokemon Setting, every region of every country of every continent has some interesting local lore and history. We've got some in Kansas, but I doubt Game Freak would make a Pokemon Game based here. It's pretty bland. Unless you make it the entire Central US from Texas up to Canada, then it might get a bit interesting, but otherwise, yeah.

New York City is a better choice.

I got something important to say for once. An idea for ASB.

It just hit me while I was responding to my All-Comers' Challenge battle... My opponents are all starting to adopt the same strategy, and its effect is showing.

So, I'd like to propose a new B/T topic: A training area.

This sort of idea WOULD be best-suited for a computer, but I think that any of our refs, or even regular battlers with some experience, would work.

Here's how I'm envisioning it: Say I want to fight someone who relies on a particular strategy that I don't typically face due to certain moves being usually banned, combos that haven't been tested very often, the opponent's skill level not being that high, etc..

I post in the tower saying what sort of strategy I want to fight, what skill level, and how many Pokemon it would involve (E.g., "Looking to train against an opponent who relies heavily on status attacks. Skill level intermediate. One VS. one."). Anybody in ASB can choose to be the opponent, or a specific opponent can be requested. The training session can last a single round, until a Pokemon is knocked out, or anywhere in between. For this and other reasons, points and battle experience would NOT be awarded in these training sessions.

Once a set of parameters has been decided at the start of the session, it cannot be changed by whoever issued the challenge. The idea here isn't to try and win, but rather to try and polish any skills you feel you are lacking in when battling in ASB. Just to give you guys an idea of what I'm suggesting, here are just a few other examples of strategies one could practice against:

-Opponents who rely heavily on combos
-Opponents who rely heavily on subs
-Oppenents who rely heavily on HP restoring moves
-Opponents who rely heavily on sheer brute force
-Opponents who try and force their enemies into an EN knockout
-Opponents who use team tactics such as U-Turn, Baton Pass, Beat Up, etc.
-Opponents who Double Battle
-Opponents who try to never take a hit
-Opponents who aim to disrupt their enemy with moves like Fake Out, Astonish, Torment, Taunt, etc.
-Opponents who rely heavily on Abilities in battle

Skill levels are obvious. Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced. Or Easy, Medium, Hard. Whatever classification system you prefer.

The number of Pokemon is more for the sake of keeping things quick and thus keeping opponents free as often as possible, which allows more people to contribute on both sides, as well as to avoid overusing the training area. Don't get complacent just because you can beat random people in the Training area. Obviously a real battle will go differently, especially if it's for a Badge or a Gym.

And while I didn't consider it when I first began this post, I see no reason why this Training facility should just be for battles. Contest Coordinators could request a Judge and a Hall to practice in by themselves, as well, following the same basic rules (sans opposing difficulty, obviously, which could be replaced by something like Judge lenience).

What does ASB think of this idea?

Dude it's Tsutarja's final evolution. why did one beat you badlly in a match or you just don't like the Jigglypuff line?

Denny I never said I did not like the Sevii Islands I was just saying that that I think the Sevii Islands should have had at lest 100 pokemon that are classified as having been originating from them. also the reason I don't want Game Freak to make a region based off Michigan is because I am, in fact I have plans to do all 50 states as well as some that are just areas of a state such as Michigan being two regions basically the UP or the State of Superior AKA the land above the bridge, and LP or just simply Michigan the Mitten the land of trolls.

Also Blade that sort of sounds like Scenario battles which I think could work.

Oops, sorry darkest I been kind of busy myself on weekends bagging newspapers for my dad... that and I been some what busy the last few days

Oh and I made a Sprite of Tomoaki Imakuni (Japanese: 今国智章 Imakuni Tomoaki), usually referred to as Imakuni? (イマクニ？ Imakuni?), is an eccentric Japanese musician who performed some of the music for the Pokémon anime. He also was heavily involved in promoting the TCG and ended up being pictured or drawing art for several of the cards. He is also in the band Suzukisan. More recently, he played a small part in the designing of Pokémon Ranger and its sequel.



so yeah I used a male Pokémon ranger from Black and white as the base, but then added the Microphone the Idea came from the fact the Idol Sprites hold a Microphone, also the cord is from the Rocker Sprites from FR/LG I think his trainer class would be known as Strange Life-form although I think he could be the Champion of say the Sevii Islands.

that is I been working on a project to update the Sevii Islands maps and also crate a Pokedex for it with at lest 150 fake Pokemon....
