Round 1
We enter the Temple of Yoroi, a sanctuary littered to the sides with ancient and priceless armors designed to both enforce protection and instill confidence. Metallixs Girl eagerly attempts to best Gym Leader DarkestLight as she summons her first of four pokémon -- a ghostly apparition named Amethyst. Darkly responds by summoning Darwin, a scrappingly aggressive kangaskhan.

Upon exiting the poké ball, Darwin immediately charges at Ame. The specter pays her no mind as he readies his own technique, thinking that she can't possibly cause him any harm. But lo and behold, she tackles him to the ground and he's left wondering what happened [ -4HP Amethyst / -2PP Darwin ]!

Before Ame can even ponder his next technique, Darwin grips onto the head of the child in her sack and thrusts it high into the air. With a look of fear (and disgust), Ame angrily charges forward with his right fist outstretched, dripping with poisons. Darwin's actual cub climbs up out of the pocket to see the action as the substitution doll slams upon the ground [ -10HP, -8PP Darwin / +10HP Kangas-Clone ]. Ame throws his fist into the doll, causing mild damage to it [ -8HP Kangas-Clone / -6PP Amethyst ].

Darwin, knowing she's safe for one more attack, begins clearing her mind and gathering focus. Ame, meanwhile, spits out a shot of fire that envelopes the doll before quickly dying out, causing no real harm whatsoever [ -5PP Darwin ]. With her focus resolved, Darwin glances at the ghost pokémon and punches him... hard! The sableye rolls across the floor trying to figure out what just happened [ -22HP Amethyst / -13PP Darwin ].

Why did Focus Punch hurt Ame? Foresight says it makes ghosts able to be hurt by normal attacks, but it doesn't say anything about Fighting. It's been a long time since I played the games, it doesn't do that in the games does it?

Foresight's not in effect, but Kangaskhan's ability, @Scrappy, makes her able to hit ghosts with normal or fighting attacks.

Round 2
Darwin starts the second round strong by bellowing a soothing song filled with mind numbing metaphors about slumber [ -3PP Darwin ], but the effect is lost on Ame who can't even hear it [ -6PP Amethyst ].

Annoyed that her lyrical voice went unheard, Darwin snaps by firing off a blade of electricity that fries the ghost pokémon [ -9HP Amethyst / -7PP Darwin ] as he punches what he thinks to be Darwin, only for her to crumble into nothingness upon connecting [ -2HP Kangas-Clone / -5PP Amethyst ].

Ame begins celebrating prematurely as a sudden torrent of flames begins burning his spectral flesh [ -9HP Amethyst / -7PP Darwin ]! That's gotta smart. Amethyst, now fuming, sweeps the leg and knocks Darwin off her feet, making her feel like a Darloser [ -13HP Darwin / -8PP Amethyst ].

Round 3
Ame begins the third round by keeping his cool and concentrating. Darwin, meanwhile, just lies in wait. Ame finishes, throwing his body forward fist first. The fist connects!, dealing incredible damage, but Ame is unable to escape Darwin's grip as she slams him to the ground, using the power of his attack against him [ -22HP, -15PP Darwin / -44HP, -8PP Amethyst ].

The ghostmon is stuck in some sort of daze, but he must finish. He summons a barrier of ice around his right hook, but before he can throw it, he is struck with a combination of Darwin's two attacks. Like a sinister rasengan, really [ -12HP Amethyst / -8PP Darwin ]. Ame falls to the floor, defeated.

Round 4
Ame is recalled and replaced by Platinum, a hearty collection of magnemites fused together via magnetism. Darwin, eager to take down another pokémon, quickly blasts out another fire chain that wraps around the magnetmon [ -14HP Platinum / -7PP Darwin ]. Platinum, none-too-eager to let that happen again, chirps and clicks until the rain falls... on the rooftop of the pagoda [ -7PP Platinum ].

Darwin smirks before slamming her first forward, into the magneton. She smirks even moreso when she sucks out its lifeforce slowly [ -10HP Platinum / -6PP, +5HP Darwin ]. But before she can escape, Platinum retalliates with a powerful blast of electricity -- sending her to the floor easily [ -12HP Darwin / -8PP Platinum ].

Darwin shrugs her shoulders and hits Platinum with another flamethrower [ -14HP Platinum / -7PP Darwin ], the flames unhindered by the rainfall outside. Platinum, perhaps feeling anger for the first time ever, lets loose with another powerful thunder attack, once more hitting Darwin heavily [ -12HP Darwin / -8PP Platinum ].

Round 5
Darwin, facing her end soon, rawrs out viciously before slamming her right leg down upon the arena floor. The act of doing so summons a shockwave of earth energy to rip through the floor before crashing into Platinum for very heavy damage [ -20HP Platinum / -8PP Darwin ]. Platinum realigns itself before firing off a barrage of blindingly bright steel energy right at her face [ -6HP Darwin / -3PP Platinum ].

The kangaskhan and her child easily brush off the attack before leeching away at Platinum's health with another draining punch [ -10HP Platinum / -6PP, +5HP Darwin ]. Platinum, once more, responds with a white flash of steel energy [ -6HP Darwin / -3PP Platinum ].

While Platinum charges up for its final attack of the round, Darwin reaches to Wildfire and steals its orb. The orange orb flashes brilliantly before disappearing completely -- Wildfire summoned, it fires off a barage of flames similar to Darwin's own that scrape across the magnemite trio [ -14HP Platinum ]. While she's distracted, however, Platinum manages to freeze her in place with a devastating electric blast that easily cripples her movements [ -12HP, +25% Par Darwin / -8PP Platinum ].

Round 6
Darwin attempts to ease up and relax for a few moments, but Platinum ruins it by screeching a very harsh screech (it sounds like metal on a chalkboard) that makes her rehabilitation less than stellar [ -20% SpD, +5PP Darwin / -5PP Platinum ].

Darwin pulls herself back together long enough to strike at the electricmon with a snowy tackle that causes little damage [ -4HP Platinum / -4PP Darwin ]. Platinum, meanwhile, pays it no mind and, not learning from previous mistakes, summons the rainfall atop the pagoda [ -7PP Platinum ].

Darwin slumps down, eager to relax some more [ +10PP Darwin ], while Platinum chirps and beeps yet again, frying the kangaroo with a powerful blast of electricity [ -14HP Darwin / -8PP Platinum ].

Round 8
Darwin is replaced by Yamamoto, a fiery sapian eager to show off for his new trainer. Platinum looks none-too-eager as the infernape bounds forward, smacking it with his sharp fist for heavy damage [ -11HP Platinum / -3PP Yamamoto G. ]. But before the nasty monkey can do any more harm, Platinum divides itself into four equally un-unique clones [ -8PP, +75% Eva Platinum ], confusing him.

Yamamoto takes a blind chance and swoops forward at incredible speed, sending his fist into one of the magnemite clumps. He smirks wildly when he realizes he has connected [ -3HP, -75% Eva Platinum / -3PP Yamamoto G. ], sending the magneton to the floor, defeated.
