They don't seem too bad to me. I mean, most of the Pokemon that learn Shell Break, for instance, are slow and weak offensively anyway. So the move would probably make them mediocre at best.

Now, a Butterfree or Venomoth with Butterfly Danced Special stats, on the other hand...

Hrm lets see. I'll toss one out there so I can see the resulting opinions on it.

A bunch of moves have to do with items. Since we don't HAVE items in ASB, gotta modify them a tad-hence mechanics change. Here's one.

Gift Pass: -NRM- Feeling generous, the user allows the foe one free non-damaging attack.
Fatigue: Light
Accuracy: Excellent
Other: Free turn! Use with caution!

In the game, it allows the user to give the foe its berry. (Which is kind of a crazy hilarious move, now that I think about it)

I think the point of Gift pass is to use it on an tag partner. Pass a berry from one pokemon to another, allowing the use of multiple berries in a single battle without using a item...

In asb, that MAY equate to us passing a move to a partner in double or tripple battles...

Just think of what could happen if I gift pass'ed all my moves in say a 10 v 10 brawl? One pokemon doing 30 moves!!!

Lil backwards there Ay. Gift pass is a move where you give your held item to your opponent if they're not holding one (so yeah Sticky Barb, flame/toxic orb, all that fun stuff).

Passing a move, how does that even work? Not razzing. Explanation would be necessary.

Think of it in a tag battle, passing off a berry to a friend after they have used theirs.

I'm thinking about restricting the move the foe is allowed to do to only be a move that the Foe can use to improve its condition-since the user is being so kind as to let the foe get a free slot-and that way no bastardizing of Taunt xD

Gift Pass: You choose a stat that can be raised with a move that the opponent has. The opponent gets a boost to that stat. (Up to DL how big the boost should be).

This means that the Gift Pass user chooses the stat, but the recipient doesn't use up any EN on it.

I think that I like the updated version Darkly suggested best. A self-beneficial free move to the opponent seems fair to me. Logical, too. If you were a Pokemon that was just given a free move, would you wanna hurt your benefactor or set them on fire?

No, you'd probably feel happy and not wanna hurt them that action. You might even feel psyched up or flattered (not the moves, I mean literally), and so you'll use a move to reflect that by improving yourself a bit for the battle ahead.

This logic is based off the universal axiom that Pokemon are innately not evil creatures and thus wouldn't be pricks who take a free bass and then bludgeon their foes with it, like many humans would. *cough* >>

Can affect Anyone except the user. So I was correct, in that you can use it on your team mates.

Well, at this stage, I see two ways to use the move that DL put forward (stat-buff only or that kinda thing). Psych up or EN-tearing strategies.

My suggestion improves the psych up plan. I don't have nasty plot. Blade's pokemon does, but he likes using physical moves. Gift Pass ~ Gift Pass ~ Psych Up. We both have +4 Sp. Att.

DL's original suggestion improved the EN plan. Choose a pokemon with pressure. Taunt ~ Gift Pass ~ Gift Pass. They have to attack on each turn, and they have to use 2 more moves. Relaxing doesn't come into play. So, 5 moves a turn, with pressure. Even with light moves, that's gonna be at least 20 EN a turn, with rather low-powered moves.

Gift pass would fail if the opponent could not use the move though, Chaos. The first example though, seems like a better strategy to use Gift pass to your advantage lol

Yeah... the move fails if they don't have any EN. I can think of better things to be doing when they have no EN.

Also, a correction to my previous list. I suppose it's also possible to Snatch + Gift Pass.

Well I was talking about DL's complaining about the different Pokemon Information Sites not matching up. And IN that I said the one way to help ease that would be to experiment and see IF the move in question does indeed affect friend and foe alike.
