The setting for this match between Elite 4 member Melo and Gym Leader Chaos is the standard Indigo Plateau arena. Chaos chooses his first pokémon, a grimey-looking muk approrpriately named Slimepot, while Melo summons Chris Xeroxx, a kecleon.

Xeroxx instantly jumps into action, slapping the muk in the face as his own eyes water due to the powerful smell radiating from his body [ -4HP Slimepot / -2PP C. Xeroxx ]. The muk just sits there... lazying about on the first action of the battle.

Slimepot, now ready to take on this color-changing foe, sinks down into a large puddle before seperating into four different, smaller versions of himself [ +75% Eva, -6PP Slimepot ]. Xeroxx takes a chance and fires off a beam of mental energy that stabs one of the four muk -- but it disperses quickly before retreating to the other three [ -11% Eva Slimepot / -5PP C. Xeroxx ].

Slimepot then fires off a powerful collection of grime that slaps Xeroxx in the face harshly [ -9HP, @Poison C. Xeroxx / -5PP Slimepot ], but before he knows it, he's already adapted to the venom's strengths. Xeroxx takes another chances and fires off a concussive beam of energy that collides with the real Slimepot and paralyzes him [ -7HP, -66% Eva, +25% Par Slimepot / -5PP C. Xeroxx ].
