Round 9
Platinum too is recalled, replaced by an eager horsea who balances on his coiled-up tail. Yamamoto's got the evolutionary advantage, but Mint's got the edge on type. Ready to show this foe what he's made of, Mint readies his first attack. However, he completely loses all focus when Moto sneaks a quick hit in [ -4HP, FLINCH Mint / -3PP Yamamoto G. ].

Moto then leaps into the air before throwing an amorphous batch of venom at the tiny seahorse, poisoning him [ +3% Tox Mint / -5PP Yamamoto G. ]. Mint doesn't allow that to hinder him as he looks for a water source for his next attack. However, water is pretty scarce in this plateau, and the only thing he can do is summon the moisture from the previous rainfalls to come and splash against the sapian's body... weakly [ -5HP Yamamoto G. / -5PP, -1HP Mint ].

For the third act, Moto merely waits as his opponent slowly shoots off a large sphere of water. Timing it just right, Moto spins around, heavily increasing his attack power, as well as dispelling the water technique quite well [ -5HP, +20% Atk, -5PP Yamamoto G. / -3PP, -1HP Mint ].

Yamamoto charges forward, slashing at Mint with his ghostly claws [ -9HP Mint / -5PP Yamamoto G. ], just in time for Mint to blind him with a muddy blast of water [ -14HP, -10% Acc Yamamoto G. / -6PP, -1HP Mint ].

As Moto struggles to see, Mint bounces high into the air, narrowly avoiding Moto's awkward tumbling [ -3PP, -2HP Mint ].

Mint comes diving downwards, knocking Moto to the ground as he bounces on the monkey's head [ -12HP Yamamoto G. / -2PP, -2HP Mint ]. Moto, none too pleased, poisons his right hook and throws said hook right into the seahorse's torso [ -14HP Mint / -10PP Yamamoto G. ].

Round 11
Yamamoto begins the round by creating a series of clones that all surround the tiny horsea, creating a world of confusion for him [ +75% Eva, -6PP Yamamoto G. ]. Mint takes a chance and fires off a large, powerful blast of water from his snout. The water ball collides with a clone, taking it out easily [ -11% Eva Yamamoto G. / -3PP, -2HP Mint ].

Moto smirks, knowing that he's got quite a bit of time before the horsea can locate him. He readies a few stones from around the gym leader's arena and kineticly tells them to all fall down upon Mint's frail frame [ -9HP Mint / -5PP Yamamoto G. ]. Mint struggles to pull himself out of the rubble before firing off a blast of ancient, draconic energy that successfully strikes the fire simian [ -9HP, -66% Eva Yamamoto G. / -7PP, -3HP Mint].

Annoyed that his evasive tactics were eliminated, Moto decides to bring more hurt by allowing a snapping electric sensation to take over his right fist. He slams it forward, knocking the seahorse into a suit of armor [ -13HP Mint / -5PP Yamamoto G. ]. Mint fires off a quick spurt of water that strikes Moto's torso, knocking him off his feet [ -9HP Yamamoto G. / -3PP, -3HP Mint ] in retalliation.

Round 12
Mint readies a torrent of water from inside his body as Yamamoto creates a wave of fighting energy that sucks him in. The tiny dragon flails his body about, but invariably gets struck by Moto's fist [ -6HP Mint / -2PP Yamamoto G. ]. Mint pulls himself back together before striking with the torrent of water. It overtakes Moto quite easily, knocking the simian to the ground [ -18HP Yamamoto G. / -4PP, -4HP Mint ].

Moto pulls himself back together slowly and lets his right hook fizzle with dancing electricity. But as he thrusts forward, Mint leaps into the air, daftly avoiding the attack [ -5PP Yamamoto G. / -3PP, -4HP Mint ]. A few seconds pass before the tiny seahorse plops back down -- right on the monkey's head [ -12HP Yamamoto G. / -2PP, -5HP Mint ]. Furious, Moto throws his electric fist forward and gives Mint quite a whallop [ -13HP Mint / -5PP Yamamoto G. ]! One that completely takes out the seahorse.

Metallixs Girl is down to her last pokémon!

A green-tipped clefable enters the battlefield, ready to dig into the arena floor. But just as quickly as she entered, Moto leaps over to her and lightly taps her forehead with his fist [ -4HP Jewel, FLINCH / -2PP Yamamoto G. ], causing her to completely forget what she was meant to do.

Quite happy with his opposition, Moto gets closer and closer to her before hitting her with a series of punches [ -20HP Jewel / -8PP, -10% Def, -10% SpD Yamamoto G. ]. Jewel, very displeased by the situation, belches out a blast of water that slams the fire simian into a suit of armor [ -10HP Yamamoto G. / -4PP Jewel ].

Out of orders, Jewel merely slumps down and regains the energy lost by the last attack [ +4PP Jewel ] while Moto slowly pulls himself back together and hits her with another devastating series of blows [ -20HP Jewel / -8PP, -10% Def, -10% SpD Yamamoto G. ].

Moto readies himself for his swan song, but before he can even fathom doing anything, he is lulled to sleep by Jewel's sweet song [ +100% Slp Yamamoto G. / -3PP Jewel ].

With her foe completely unconscious, Jewel is free to devour his dreams. The simian continues to snooze as his consciousness is slowly devoured [ -8HP Yamamoto G. / +4HP, -6PP Jewel ]. Moto suddenly jolts out of sleep before falling to the ground, defeated.

Yamamoto is replaced swiftly with a gnarly kabutops named Fei. The prehistoric pokémon drags his blades across one another in intimidation as Jewel begins singing her song once more. But Fei knows what's going on, and immediately creates his substitution [ -15HP, -5PP Fei Long / +15HP Fei Clone ]. The song goes unheard [ -3PP Jewel ].

Unsatisfied, Jewel continues to sing, even louder this time [ -3PP Jewel ], but Fei fails to notice and instead punches her in the face with the butt of his blade [ -11HP Jewel / -5PP Fei Long ]. This continues for... quite some time [ -11HP, -3PP Jewel / -5PP Fei Long ].

Round 16
Fei holds his two scythes together for a moment before conjuring an earth-shattering spell. A beam of rock-based energy thrusts forward, knocking Jewel off her feet for a brief moment [ -6HP Jewel / -2PP Fei Long ]. Jewel holds together, picking herself up off the ground. She begins waving her digits around like they were lighters at a Chili Peppers concert, creating three clones to surround her [ +75% Eva, -6PP Jewel ].

Unsure just how to take this, Fei merely chooses one and takes aim. He expells a trail of water towards one of the clefable and slides forward, tackling quickly. Success!, he tackles the correct Jewel [ -4HP, -75% Eva Jewel / -2PP Fei Long ]. Annoyed that her facade went away so quickly, Jewel punches Fei's clone swiftly, but doesn't draw any health from it [ -9HP Fei Clone / -5PP Jewel ].

She's so mad, she punches a second time [ -6HP Fei Clone / -5PP Jewel ] destroying it. Fei assesses the situation before giving her another punch to her gut [ -11HP Jewel / -5PP Fei Long ].

Feeling backed into a corner, Jewel closes her eyes and creates several more images to deter her foe [ +75% Eva, -6PP Jewel ]. But Fei's not worried, no-no. He knows exactly which one is her, and swiftly dives at her feet first. He sweeps her legs with the added enhancement of wind energy, knocking her off her feet just in time for him to slam her with his scythes [ -16HP, -75% Eva Jewel / -15PP Fei Long ].

Jewel doesn't pull herself back together this time.
