Looks like you're gonna hafta end this battle quickly.

Sketcher takes point, tapping on the black paint spot on her easel with her tail. A wave of dark energy pierces through the night sky and jabs Spiritomb right in the eye [ -8HP Spiritomb / -1PP Sketcher ]. Ralts, meanwhile, begins chanting a great chant that keeps the party's luck going [ -3PP, -3HP Ralts ]. Bello strikes the devilish stone-haunting ghost with a powerful leaf blade that strikes critically [ -14HP Spiritomb / -3PP, -3HP Bellossom ], while Pachi strikes with a swift shock wave [ -6HP Spiritomb / -3PP, -3HP Pachirisu ]. Trill is the only one not attacking, feeling too exhausted from the trip [ +10PP, -3HP Trill ].

Spiritomb, quite irritated by this point, strikes the party with a widespread silver wind that does quite a bit of damage [ -6HP Pachirisu / -6HP Sketcher / -9HP Bellossom / -9HP Ralts / -6HP Trill / -8PP Spiritomb ], right before being struck by one more dark pulse [ -8HP Spiritomb / -1PP Sketcher ]. Two more lightning-based attacks come from Pachi and Ralts [ -8HP + -9HP Spiritomb / -5PP, -3HP Pachirisu / -7PP, -3HP Ralts ], while a powerful leaf storm rocks the ghosts core towards the end [ -14HP Spiritomb / -9PP, -3HP, -20% SpA Bellossom ].

Sketcher lets one last dark pulse fly, while Ralts ends him with a shock wave after her imprisonment fades [ -8HP + -2HP Spiritomb / -1PP Sketcher / -5PP, -4HP Ralts ]. The ghost caws and cackles before evaporating into dust, lifting the curse on not only your pokémon, but the Unused Keystone that stands before you! The Wind Blade continues to react.

Meanwhile, Mr. Slaps, still hanging on for dear life, attempts to mimic the zubats movements... but that only helps if you have wings. Slaps flails his arms up and down desperately... only to fall to the ground like a cartoon character.

Instinctively, you grab Slaps' poké ball and recall the primate a few seconds before he collapses on the ground below.

Shinsuke Volcano
This Volcanic Island - previously hidden away; can now be seen from the shore. A massive pool of magma lies deep in its center, but one can walk down quite a ways and find a variety of Fire Types enjoying the heated tunnels. Some hardier Flying Pokemon line the edges of the Volcano as well. A tall Pagoda stands on the Island as well, the only man-made structure here. If you fish from shore, Water Pokemon encounter rates are the same as for Tranquil Shores.

Blade summons Grand Star once more to visualize the artifacts from above -- Ghosts already notes the reactions from the Strengthened Sphere getting greater and greater.

A man rolls on the ground next to you with a lucario in tow -- you recognize this man as Charles Legend. Wonderful! A third person in your party. You all give your greetings until Charles spots something familiar -- it's Trill! The tiny murkrow flaps his wings happily before perching himself on Charles' shoulder.

A fourth person, female, steps out from deeper in the graves. You three recognize her as Ayeun, the grass-themed gym leader.

What is possessing all four of you to be out in the grave at this hour!?

After a long and drawn-out greetings, Ghosts pulls out the broken ultra ball and holds it up. The two artifacts from Ayeun's pack emerge, and it sucks them up like they were never there.

The ultra ball glows a bright white light, and shoots a beam into the air.

The beam of white light pierces the sky like a blade as Blade and Charles have a pissing contest in their side of the graveyard. Ghosts and Ayeun, meanwhile, stare up above them as an armada of ghost pokémon suddenly appear.

"We are the Ghost Carnival and we will protect the shrine from you lot!"

One of the ghosts, something you've never seen before, Confragrigus, appears behind Ghosts and snatches the broken ultra ball, while five more surround your party: Gengar, Dusknoir, Mismagius, Banette, and Golurk.

Banette snickers before snapping her fingers, making all but one of each of your pokémon remain in the graveyard (where the others have disappeared to is a mystery -- even their poké balls have vanished!): Ayeun's Bello, Blade's Thunderhand, Charles' Sirius, and Ghost's Gin.

Looks to be one hell of a carnival.

Frost and Beartic rest up for quite awhile as you and Goku figure out what's going on with Mastermind. The porygon chirps as it spits out an projection -- it's a video. You watch, from Mastermind's perspective, of it driving down the mountainside until reaching the bottom. A large, unfamiliar figure looms ahead before hitting Mastermind with a powerful ice beam. The feed goes out at this point.

Gin works out a strategy, and uses his keen eyes to solidify the ghosts collectively [ -7PP Gin ], while Thunderhand conjures up a powerful impulse of electricity that pierces through Gengar and Mismagius [ -14HP TGC / -10PP Thunderhand ]. Sirius, meanwhile, focuses primarily on Banette, firing off a blast of dark energy that tears right through him [ -14HP TGC / -7PP Sirius ]. Bello, finally, sheds off a cloud of spores that goes unnoticed [ -3PP Bellossom ].

Gengar laughs uncontrollably before firing off a series of shadow balls that strike Thunderhand, Bello, and Sirius respectively [ -8HP Thunderhand / -8HP Bellossom / -6HP Sirius / -10PP TGC ], while Gin attempts to swipe the ultra ball away from Cofragrigus -- but he's ultimately sideswiped by the golem, Golurk [ -6HP Gin / -3PP TGC ]. It would seem that the ghosts are connected in some way -- an attack on one is an attack on all of them. Thunderhand and Sirius prepare to fire off another set of attacks -- Discharge and Dark Pulse -- that tear through Mismagius and Banette [ -7HP + -14HP TGC / -5PP Thunderhand / -7PP Sirius ].

Gin tries once more to steal the ultra ball for his trainer, but is met with Dusknoir instead, who appeared in front to protect Cofragrigus [ -6HP TGC / -3PP Gin ]. Sirius surges Banette's body once more with a dark pulse, doing considerable damage [ -14HP TGC / -7PP Sirius ] before being assaulted by Golurk's powerful focus punch [ -22HP Sirius / -10PP TGC ].

Cofragrigus cackles some more as his dark arms, like unruly tentacles, leap from his coffin-like frame and wrap around Thunderhand, making him lose his train of thought as his body gets wrapped up [ -3HP Thunderhand, FLINCH, @Mummy / -2PP TGC ]. Gin, meanwhile, focuses his talents on upping his elemental prowess [ +20% SpA, -5PP Gin ]. Sirius applauds Bello [ -3PP Sirius ] as she unleashes a soothing scent that slows the Ghost Carnival quite muchly [ -20% Eva TGC / -5PP Bellossom ].

Dusknoir, meanwhile, takes aim at Bello, buring her with a light wisp [ +3% Brn Bellossom / -5PP TGC ], only to follow up with an unsettling hex that draws its strength from the burn [ -10HP Bellossom / -3PP TGC ]. Thunderhand struggles to maintain balance while mummified, but manages to punch the ghost golem with a powerful ice punch [ -11HP TGC, @Mummy / -5PP Thunderhand ], just as Mismagius holds down Sirius with his mind [ -8HP Sirius / -6PP TGC ], making him unable to move!
